I typically find the gunplay mechanics in R* games a little clumsy for me. ....even fine character movements. It's funny but I usually prefer free aim in most other games I play but not R* ones. It just doesn't feel as comfortable as other titles do. ....but then again, I don't play these games for the gun play mechanics. It's the whole package with all the other aspects of their games that attract me. If they had hardcore sessions with no AA, no ability cards, etc. I'd probably be all over it.

I wish more people used this instead of posting what they do. -
It's funny...... While some issues were resolved for me, I started experiencing new ones after the updates. Namely the disconnects others had been having. Never had those before but do now. .....although not often in my case.

While really rare, it's these little details in the game world I enjoy.

I have to disagree.... I can honestly say I have never thrown insults at people in chat let alone bothered to send them a message. As for being trolled myself, I will report them based on how bad it is. If someone is going to show me a complete lack of respect by doing something like that, why should I care about them? I report it.

First of all, you need to look at what GBs give you and what items that require this form of in-game currency to acquire. In short, buying GBs will provide a shortcut to some items that can be bought with in-game cash. Also, items locked behind GBs are all essentially cosmetic. .....so, if you're looking for a shortcut (on those items that allow it) vs. earning the cash in the game, then maybe GBs are "worth it" to you. If you like the cosmetic items locked behind GBs then maybe GBs are "worth it" to you. However, the main thing to note here is that you don't need to buy GBs to play and enjoy the game. This is not a "pay to win" model and you can still buy all the weapons you need including a lot of other content like outfits, horses, saddles, etc. without the need for GBs. In other words, no one is being suckered or cheated here. If you think they're worth it, buy them. .....if not, then don't

Hi Jim, First, welcome to the forums. I hope you enjoy your time here. As mentioned, this is a fan site and not affiliated with R* or T2. However, R* has set up a site specifically for providing feedback regarding their beta. You can find the site here: https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=f2e50892 I would encourage you to submit your suggestions and complaints through that link if you are interested in trying to make a difference. R* has already made changes and plans for change based on player input.

I like tearing up a town every now and again. What i do is find one where no one is near and start shooting. ....usually from rooftops, a pier, etc. It's a way to mix things up a bit and accumulate XP especially once the law begins arriving. We tore up Blackwater last night and had quite a bit of fun doing it. ....got killed several times but we really racked up the experience points. IIRC, you get 5 xp per kill, 5 more for headshots, 5 for targets on horseback, 5 for distance and 5 when you use special ammo (e.g. Express, High Velocity, etc.). .....so in my case, I'm getting a guaranteed 10 xp per kill and 15 thru 25 on others. It can get boring as with anything you do in repetition and your honor level will decrease (if that's a concern for you), but I simply see it as a way to still make progress while trying to mix things up a bit. You might find it fun but if you don't, there are other ways.

That "some" included nearly all of the CEO / VP businesses, missions and related content. A substantial chunk of the gameplay in GTAO to be honest. You have to be in public sessions to access it. As for passive mode, it's worthless in GTA IMO. I never found a use for it although griefers do. Luckily, I was always able to still enjoy the content locked in public sessions by using the MTU trick. ....still do. I would forced into session by myself and if others began to get thrown in with me at some point, they were usually there for the same reasons as me so we never bothered one another. .....sometimes you would find people willing to help. I still would like to see PvE sessions but as long as they lock the better part of their content in Free Roam, of course folks like me will still want to have access to it so I will still be playing in those sessions too. As of right now, we don't even know if session options will ever be implemented or even part of R*s plans. They haven't said anything about it but they have said that they want to add balance to Free Roam. .....which is all some of us are asking for.

I agree with the others. It may not be an aspect of the game someone likes but it's not "griefing" and certainly not what R* is talking about when they say they want to take action to help mitigate the issue. As others described, it's more about the unprovoked, unscripted, indiscriminate killing of others especially in those moments when they are most vulnerable, etc. Personally, I don't like accepting assassination missions but I accidentally did last night and as it turns out, the target was just a hundred yards away. I also recognized him as someone I blocked earlier in the session (although I forgot why) so I decided to go ahead and do it. Turns out him and his friend never ran and were engaged with NPCs. We swooped in, I took two shots with my lever action shotgun, killed them both and promptly rode off. They never came looking for revenge and as soon as the mission was over I gave them space by riding away. I've had several of these missions against me and to be honest, I simply found them boring as I've never had a problem keeping threats at a distance. It's quick and easy XP and cash though. Last night one even logged off when he realized he would never catch up to us. btw, if you don't enjoy an aspect of the game like these assassination missions being forced on players, I would urge you to submit your feedback to R*: https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=f2e50892 Perhaps at some point they will have a switch like Creed talks about where those who want to be involved in PvP activities will be the only ones who get those kinds of missions.

I'm not pulling your leg. I regularly run into players over lvl 50 and typically at least one over lvl 100 in each session. As Burbon mentioned, there are others even much higher. Seriously, it's not a hard thing to achieve at this stage in the game. There are even players around here on these forums who are at that level.

This reminds me of a similar thread with another member who lost their cool and used the console messaging. Doesn't matter what happens in the game. The message they see when that other player reported you is what you're being judged on and both MS and Sony take these things very seriously. ....they have to. Yeah, good message for others that may be thinking of doing it. ....just don't. It's not worth it and now in your case it's lvl 94 player for the win at 2 to 0. What I do is immediately block them and use the in-game reporting feature if appropriate. In this case, it sounds like the other guy was simply playing the mission as designed since you are a target for everyone else on those escort jobs. That's not griefing if that's the case. btw, lvl 94 is nothing at this stage in the beta. There are plenty of 100+ players out there and likely more than we see that have simply quit due to a lack of content. I'm at about 50 myself and I'm pretty casual about how I play. If I put my mind to it and started grinding a while back, I could easily have been at that level too by now.
-
The first thing that comes to my mind is if the range is lower than the striking distance of a rifle with high velocity ammo, it won't take long for griefers to take advantage of that. .....but I think all of these concerns are really going to depend a lot on how far exactly the range will be for blips shown on the map. We also have to remember that while it may not be introduced along with the proximity change, R* also discussed adding a range penalty for indiscriminate kills where the player will be shown as a progressively darkening blip and will be seen further away by others.

Hi Dman, Please refer back your post in the Q&A section. I have provided your answer. Also, please refrain from double posting or spamming other peoples threads with unrelated questions. I closed your other duplicate thread. - Kean

Hi Dman and welcome. Read Dead Online is currently in beta. That beta is the online game. R* announced before RDR2s launch that RDO would be a work in progress (beta) and they have posted several status updates along the way. ......as well as patches, enhancements, etc. If you want to catch up on all the news, please follow this link and look for the articles pertaining specifically to beta updates, etc.: https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/tags/716 Also, please don't double post. I will close your duplicate thread in the other Q&A section.

Yeah, I'm a little iffy on the whole proximity based blips as well. I had the same thoughts as you. We will really need to see how this whole proximity thing works, ranges, etc., but I can certainly see some drawbacks. IMO, the range needs to be long enough to allow players to see potential threats but short enough to keep players "off the radar" when they want to be. If it's too short, I can already see trolls setting up sniper positions near towns, quest points, etc. and using the lack of range to their advantage. When folks talked about this during development, I was all for it. .....but then I started to think of ways griefers could use it to their advantage. Now I'm just waiting to see how it all shakes out.
-
There's no doubt in my mind he was trolling. No one is that stupid if their intent is a friendly encounter. Personally, I would have laid him out for that and downed his horse if it were nearby but that's just me. I'm experiencing a lot more of these kinds of encounters lately. Usually low level players that (for whatever reason) feel they need to provoke fights with unwilling targets of opportunity. Lots of these "under skilled" types picking fights with the wrong people. I hope they get frustrated at some point and find another game to play. Maybe the upcoming changes R* has in mind will change their tune.
-
So far they've only specified those things to expect in the next TU. However, I would expect many more things to come but as to when, no one knows. The only thing they detailed before that's missing in the last status update was the blips of griefers that will turn darker the more they kill and the range of their detection will increase. .....but then they also said that would be coming after the proximity blips are implemented.

Why would you or do you lower the camp flag??
Kean_1 replied to Major Dammidge's question in Questions & Answers
Certainly slower than I thought it would be. -
Yeah, probably not worth causing problems on a device just for the app. My old phone was going on 4 years and the battery was progressively getting worse. Found a new, unlocked Z3 on Amazon for $369 so I pulled the trigger. btw, for the OPs benefit, there's an app that will show what his processor specs are, right? ....in case he wants to check.

R* was open about how they were going to use some of the architecture from GTAO (I think they would be stupid not to), but they also want RDO to be a more unique experience to set itself apart from the GTA game world. Just the fact that they have acknowledged and will be implementing anti-griefing solutions tells me they are committed to a more balanced sense of gameplay in RDO than GTAO in that regard. Rumors are rumors but to me, actions are what really matter. As for whether these changes help or hinder is another story. -
No, I think you got the gist of it.
-
Interesting. I didn't know that Syrens. btw OP, I had the same problem with my phone but I just so happen to have been in the transition of shopping for a new one and it all worked out. The app is an incredible asset while playing btw.

The only thing we know is that the next title update will release in the "coming months". No idea on when the beta will actually end so as Fretter mentioned, expect it to be months ahead. .....in other words, no established date as of yet. I'll wager it goes on into summer.

How many gold bars did you buy and how many do you show you have in-game? The following is a Q&A answer to the dilemma you might be having: If that's not what is happening in your scenario, I would urge you to submit a trouble ticket through R*'s Support site here: https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/115001624507?redirect_lang=en_us&_ga=2.217923733.228216517.1548868414-1719606522.1525287356 I hope this helps.
