I posted some of my thoughts about it in the thread below I created on the topic, but IMO this is no different than what they do with GTAO. They always offer discounts on certain items, bonuses on missions / goods, freebies, etc. This helps lure folks back into the online game and keeps regulars playing. In this particular case with the tonics, this special was implemented on the heels of an announcement of a new section on the Feedback site being added which includes Goods and Supplies. As they stated: "Please let us know which Tonics and Provisions you find most helpful, and any other constructive notes for us to consider. The official Red Dead Online Feedback website has now been updated with dedicated sections for Goods and Supplies: https://reddeadonline.com/feedback"

Welcome Jacob. I guess as long as your anger isn't misdirected at your fellow community members, I'd say your condition shouldn't be a problem here. We're a generally friendly group of folks.

Let's not and say we did...... This is a fan site, not an official forum of R*. ......but feel free doing this on R*s feedback site if you wish: https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=f2e50892

Yeah, I'm in no way going to dump RDO2 just because I play another game. I've been doing it since RDOs release anyhow. TD2 will simply be a game I play with certain friends and RDO with others. Anthem looks cool but simply isn't my kind of game unfortunately. Heck, I was almost going to give TD2 a pass for a while before a couple friends said they were getting it upon release. For my kind of MP shooter, I'm really just waiting for Insurgency Sandstorm.
-
Just finished playing a couple hours of coop in TD2. I like what they've done. More of the same which isn't necessarily a bad thing but also improved. Also like the damage model much better with the lower TTK, slow heals, etc. I think it was a good decision on their part.
-
Yeah, no joke. There really is no sort of matchmaking on that level which is why we really need some sort of balance. I just hope the changes in the next title update will help in that regard.
-
The good news is that since the campaign had this mechanic perhaps it will find it's way to RDO as well. IMO, it would benefit everyone since it would enhance the depth of the gameplay and also legitimize the need for barbers in the gameworld beyond simply choosing styles. Could also be another GB opportunity for R* to sell more unique styles, etc. since traffic to those merchants would increase.

Should've given them a wider berth to be honest. Probably thought you were playing it casual on purpose and felt you might attack from the rear. I know I would have. Whenever I see someone on a mission like that, I quickly remove myself from the area for both my own protection and as a sign to them that I am not a threat. On the flip side, I will do my best to avoid others while trying to complete a mission but I will tend to take to make the first move if I'm vulnerable and feel someone is too close for comfort. Been burned too many times to give randoms the benefit of the doubt anymore.

Actually, that dynamite was me (sorry, didn't tell you). I was trying to get him off of that cliff. Yeah, I stood there the last two times he killed me with my guns holstered to show him how unamused I was. ......I was also doing the same thing (blocking and reporting each one). Unfortunately, as soon as you parley with one in a posse of griefers, the rest come in. ......big problem right there in the whole parley design. Anyhow, you didn't see this after you left but they went up North and griefed another posse of two until those guys left. I was hanging out in the train station and then made a bee line for the town to sell my stuff before I logged off.

I'm semi-retired but even though I'm at home I still can't bring myself to game during the day. Not that I never do but I guess it just makes me feel weird if I'm not doing other things with my time during the day. Took a year just to get used to the whole "not working" thing.

Pre-ordered D2 a couple days ago and downloading the beta for D2 now. Probably be on tonight as well and some of the weekend.

Make the suggestion to R*. I think it's a good idea and one that others have expressed as well: https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=f2e50892

I'm sure they will. It seems to be a successful formula for them in GTAO to have these periods of special discounts, weekly/weekend giveaways, etc. I also don't think it's simply coincidence that this special on tonics was at the same time they announced a change to their RDO Feedback site:
-
Cool, thanks. This is the only real way we have any chance as a community to try and affect change in the game and R* is encouraging people to do so.
-
Opening a support ticket won't do anything. That for reporting bugs and help with things you can't figure out, etc. The issue is in the game's design. Either way, you've gone the Support route now I would suggest you use their feedback page....
-
....moved to the RDO forum.
-
Submit your feedback to R* about this issue. I hate the fact that there is no way to simply do the story missions with just 1-2 friends without the system trying to throw randoms in the mix. https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=f2e50892

There's an image icon that if you click it will allow you to change the background picture. It's referred to as the posse icon I believe. I just checked it on mine I am able to change it this way.
-
Which ads do you speak of. Are you talking about the link to your posse that I added to Yoda's post in your posse thread. If so, that's just a link. If you copy and paste the address, it will automatically show up like that. I'd post an example here but I don't want to derail the thread,
-
It's all automated and really depends on what their filters are picking up. Sometimes it makes no sense but as people become more creative, I guess companies do too in how they block such things. ......funny, seems two threads may have been merged by one of my compadres. Threw me off there for a second as it wasn't the OP in this thread I was responding to. If it were, I would be giving the same advice as our friend Truth.

Is A Crossbow A Feasible Weapon For This Time Period?
Kean_1 replied to KylesDad7's topic in Red Dead Online
By the late 19th century? Sure, some folks had them and perhaps even used them for practical purposes in some very limited examples but I doubt most would have even seen them as a feasible option during this period. Even as advanced as modern crossbows are today they are mainly used for sport. Firearms are simply more practical for self defense, work, hunting, war, doing bad guy stuff, law enforcement, etc. -

Feasible in the sensible, realistic and/or practical sense? .....I would say no. I am sure crossbows existed and perhaps were even manufactured but we're likely talking about unique circumstances. Firearms were simply more effective. Even Native Americans began to adopt them as they became more effective than their bows. As for the game, I think it would still be a little too quirky for RDO but that's just me. -
Why posse up? Lone Wolf is the way to MVP!
Kean_1 replied to Dark Eco Wolf's topic in Red Dead Online
Well, it's not as if they spent all those years doing nothing. We have RDR2 which is the meat of what this franchise means to many fans. .....and while it may seem like a no-brainer, no one even knew for sure if RDR2 would have an online component until they announced later that they would. If you look at it another way, maybe R* didn't want to come out with a completed online component and rather chose to have their community help them through development with their ideas, suggestions and feedback? ....through lessons learned from GTAO. This was something else they touched on and one of the reasons they set up the RDO Feedback website. https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=f2e50892 ....but as I've always said, I'd rather take a wait and see approach than dwell in negative conjecture. I purposely skipped those comments because in truth, they are bad analogies. Spending tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars on prototype vehicles and unfinished homes is a lot different than spending $60 on a game. .....a game I might add that did have a complete campaign. It's just the online component that is still in development. ....but again, nothing else was promised to those who bought the game. Well, that's all personal perspective and opinion though. I don't know what you want to do about that. I know nothing I say here will change your mind about R*, the direction of RDO, etc. What I do know that I am not dismissive of problems others report when I don't have them and in fact have been quite supportive. I can't control what others may say on those subjects. As for MTXs, I never saw the issue as I have never purchased such things in games and I doubt I ever will in RDO. I would get into the whole reason I think R* made the decision to put the system in place at this early stage but I know it will make no difference. I will say that if I felt this negative about a company or product, I wouldn't have made the purchase to begin with or I would have shelved the game last year after I completed the campaign. ......but that's just me. -

In all fairness, R* was up front about RDO being a beta and when that beta period would start and that more news would come later. ....this was prior to RDR2s release. I preordered RDR2 too but went into it knowing full well that RDO would not be a finished product and with no expectations on when the final release would come. Everything else was pure speculation. Before RDOs release they provided additional details which included news that it would continue over the course of "months". However, I had expected that "fixes "would be coming more frequently than they had given what they had stated in one of their earlier status updates.
