Rockstar server issue with no animals, birds, etc.
Kean_1 replied to boone0829's topic in Troubleshooting
Fyi.... I talked to a rep today from R* Support and he said they have been rolling back patches the last week or more so that is resulting in issue with the gameplay. I mentioned it before but I received a confirmation that this is indeed due to preparation for the upcoming update next Tuesday. Hopefully the recent and many of the long standing issues get resolved with that. -
Day 5 of no stranger missions and no hideouts
Kean_1 replied to Saffron's question in Questions & Answers
I have the opposite "problem". Flocks of birds, herds of animals, NPCs, etc. will occasionally replicate themselves so there will sometimes be double the amount or even triple with NPCs. .....although the latter is a little rare. btw, I reported my particular issue and mentioned that many in the community are reporting the opposite. A rep mentioned that the issues in the last week or more is quite likely due to them rolling back patches in preparation for the update next Tuesday. If that's the case, we should see hopefully see improvements and resolutions to a lot of the problems. -
Some kind of Bonko, Bunco(?) party or something like that. All I know is that my wife is picking up sushi from our local favorite restaurant so at least we get to eat that before we need to disappear before the girls arrive. She feels bad for making me disappear upstairs I guess but I suppose that's how it works with whoever hosts the event. No biggie..... Maybe I'll binge watch a few programs and drink a few beers. My kid can entertain himself with his tablet and Legos. It's only for about 3 hours. ....now I gotta get back to preparing the house for tonight.
-
No problem. I likely won't be on tonight or if I am, it will be late. My wife is hosting an event with local Moms so my kid and I will be making ourselves scarce upstairs. Normally I'm on about 8PM PST until about 11PM. .....sometimes longer depending on who is on, how I feel, etc.
-
No joke. I hope it continues through the weekend. If you're serious, send me a PSN friend req. I don't mind teaming up and hunting. I have no idea what triggers these anomalies but at the very least, I have no issue with animals not spawning. ......so far. btw, the Big Valley in NW West Elizabeth is always ripe with animals regardless for me. We run back and forth down that valley and kill herds, birds, etc. and then make a run to Strawberry to unload. You can see for quite a distance either way from West to East. .....sometimes a gang hideout will spawn at the ranch near there as well.
-
....or something like that. Seriously though, I've been witnessing duplicate or triplicate of dogs in town, NPCs/shopkeepers and last night while in Tumbleweed, even the Sheriff was duplicated while the dialogue played for a side mission. Really weird. Flocks of birds would sometimes be doubled, etc.
-
Yeah, I'm in California and haven't had the issues of animals not respawning and side missions still have some issues but I can still get them to work more times than not. Played several hours last night with one disconnect (which in itself is a bit rare for me) and no other issues. In fact, the only "issue" (if you want to call it that) is a recent spawn of more animals which seem to duplicates of flocks, herds, NPCs, dogs ,etc.

Which weapon should I buy in online mode next?

If anything, for the sound. ......as if you need any other reason. -
Which weapon should I buy in online mode next?
Kean_1 replied to evilcd's question in Questions & Answers
Depends on what you value more and/or your playstyle. Personally, I spent my money on long arms but I did buy dual Schofields and modded them. I went with those simply because I like them but they are also good sidearms. ....and I stuck with them because frankly, I rarely use handguns in this game. I bought the Lancaster as soon as it was available and still use it at level 55+. The other weapon worth purchasing and upgrading IMO is the pump action shotgun. I eventually switched to the repeater shotgun and but I could have easily stuck with the pump. A shotgun and good lever action rifle is what I still rely on the most. I will say that I did buy the Rolling Block rifle and eventually the Springfield which replaced it for big game / long range duty. I have several other weapons which rarely get used. -
Rockstar server issue with no animals, birds, etc.
Kean_1 replied to boone0829's topic in Troubleshooting
They obviously are interested in trying to rectify the situation. Not all issues can be easily replicated and require as much detail as they can get their hands on which is why the Support reps are asking so they can pass it along. -
Day 5 of no stranger missions and no hideouts
Kean_1 replied to Saffron's question in Questions & Answers
Other folks are having the same problem and some have reported that R* has acknowledged the issue and are working on it. If you haven't already, I would urge you to report the issue through R* Support here: https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/115001624507?redirect_lang=en_us&_ga=2.54673003.1331048157.1550775370-1719606522.1525287356 The update hits next Tuesday so we'll see soon enough if it gets addressed. Other than that, there is no new news on the topic. -
Hi Wolf and welcome to the site.
-
No problem Saffron. It's available to everyone. The information is in the original post but here is the link: https://www.rdr2.org/forums/clubs/ There is an option to the right to "Start a Posse". The option to name it, insert as description, platform, etc. is all in there. Hope this helps.
-
I bought both and to be honest, I (personally) stick with the repeating shotgun because it holds 6 instead of 5 rounds. However, they're both effective enough so the only thing IMO is the value. In that sense, the pump is a better value IMO and the first weapon that is unlocked IIRC. Given its usefulness, I would recommend folks get it as soon as it's available to them. .....so with that in mind, the repeater shotgun is a personal choice at that point but not really necessary IMO.

Rockstar server issue with no animals, birds, etc.
Kean_1 replied to boone0829's topic in Troubleshooting
I've reported several issues and responses I have received were always open about known or common problems. Of course, the answer is always going to be the same though (that they are working on it). -

LFPlayers free aim, no dead eye, no radar
Kean_1 replied to StoneyLizard969's topic in Posse Recruitment
Hi Stoney and welcome to the forums. I'm going to go ahead and move this to our recruitment sub forum which is better suited for these kinds of posts. -
There should be nothing preventing you from doing so.
-
With all the weird stuff people have been experiencing lately, it wouldn;'t surprise me if it was due to tweaks they have been making on their end in preparation for the update next week.
-
Griefers come in all forms. .....and there are more and more of them cropping up that are low level. I've been in the same boat where we have had to continually kill a low level player simply because he would not go away. We report them and block them. Sometimes it's us that have to eventually leave the session. Gets old really fast IMO as there is no challenge nor desire to continue. This may change with the new update however. With a bounty and NPC posses in the mix, they will likely have their hands full allowing victims to simply move on while they are stuck defending themselves from the law. Also, I doubt many would welcome a Feud. The darkening blip and detection won't do them any favors either as I'm sure there are those who are just waiting at the chance to take these griefers out using that new mechanic as a tool to hunt them down.
-
I thought you meant a posse in the Posse subforum on this website. I guess I don't understand your point then. In the game, you are playing with people on your own platform. In your case, you are only playing with those who also play on XB1s. RDO is not a cross-platform title. In other words, no. PS4 and XB1 players are not currently playing together in RDO Free Roam or under any other circumstances within the game. It is currently impossible to do so. They don't need an exchange of platform info.
-
I agree with Xped. .....especially if they are doing it through messaging as that would be definitive proof. Although nothing is likely to come of it, I would also try the R* in-game reporting option as well. On PS4 we have an option to block but I just don't know how that works on XB1.

That's about the time I get on. Usually 0730 - 0800 PST.
