You have to read the rest of the thread. It wasn't a one shot deal. It was put in the rotation.

There are games out there like that but most are on PC. Titles that are considered milsims, hardcore survival, etc. can have much more unforgiving and "realistic" damage models. ....although games like that have been quite scarce on console. However, that's not to say there aren't those that appear on console from time to time. The Sniper Elite franchise or other games like Ghost Recon Wildlands are just a couple examples that come to mind. Personally, I loved the Flashpoint series on PC and even played the titles that came over to console. That was about as milsim as it got on the PS3. Just as an example, the core gameplay of GRW is quite lethal and way more realistic in that respect compared to the Division. Enemies can be killed with one shot although once alerted they may take 1-3 shots depending on the weapon and placement. IIRC, headshots were still a one-shot deal regardless. Takedowns are very quick but not easy. On the highest difficulty, even your character is extremely vulnerable. That was one aspect of that game I really loved. .....that and the flexibility to approach and engage objectives as you like from complete stealth to guns blazing or anywhere in between. One of the most fun co-op experiences I've had in a game in a long time. It was a blast to be able to plan and coordinate missions with your team. I just can't agree that lethal damage models are unrealistic as they already do exist and have their own fans who love that style of gameplay. ....including me. On that note, one such title I've been waiting for that is making the crossover from PC to console is Insurgency: Sandstorm. That game is a cross between milsim titles and a more casual PvP experience. The damage model is absolutely brutal. The Division franchise is definitely an RPG. That was one aspect of the game I never really liked but with TD1, I learned to enjoy the other elements of the gameplay. When TD2 was announced however, I never really had an interest until I heard news that the devs would be toning down the sponginess of the damage model which they have. I still don't care for the woile RPG nature of the damage but it is what it is. Just like RDO..... I don't particularly care for the arcadey gunplay and damage but the package as a whole is enjoyable to me. Just a different kind of beast. I will say that when GRW came out I immediately thought that the damage in that game was what I wished the Division could have been. .....but then the game was never designed around that kind of model like GRW was.

There are obvious conflicts with giving people the ability to sell or "gift" GBs as they are able to be purchased with real money. Also, R* purposely went with a two currency system in RDO for a reason. My guess is to allow them away to introduce gambling perhaps later down the road, etc. A currency they don't have to worry about being tied to "real" money.

Decaying playing base maybe a blessing in disguise

Fyi.... Mods are being changed in this upcoming Friday patch for TD2. A lot of the negatives are being removed and the positives being nerfed a bit. The whole skill power requirements are being lowered so they are more useful, some weapon balance, etc.
-
Well, this isn't an official site of Rockstar or 2K but if you're actually serious about your concerns, I would suggest making your case to R*. This isn't the place for those kinds of accusations: https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=f2e50892

Works for me. 😄

The pump was the first one I got and while that would have been fine, I did get the repeating and that's what I stick with mostly for that kind of work. I use them for their sheer stopping power up close whether that means other players or other predators. Use what works for you and the task at hand. That's one reason I like RDR2 / RDDO is that the weapon balance allows variety based on personal choice.

The big Spring update that's coming will have some game changing mechanics in it.
-
If I'm not mistaken, it's been patched. Also, I heard R* had reset some other player's ill-gotten gains who were using other exploits so I would use any of these at your own risk. In other words, your effort may be for naught if you do. .....ymmv. Try YouTube if you're really interested in cheats, exploiting glitches, etc. I don't really think that's something management really wants to encourage or condone here.
-
Thanks. Yeah, regarding the updates. I still visit this site regularly in between other stuff I'm doing throughout my day (usually when I sit down for a minute, check email, etc.). I'm not going anywhere unless mngmnt has other plans. 😲 ....and about the quote, I was actually talking about the Division 2. That's what Creed and I have been playing lately. I'll be revisiting the game when the Spring update hits and maybe even before in between other games. It's just not my go to title at the moment but will likely always be one I play to some extent just like I do with GTAO.

Unfortunately, no. None that can provide a real time map that links to your console.

I do like the strategy change in this iteration of the series. Cover is absolutely essential and for what it is, I do enjoy it. .....but while tactics are necessary, they're also relatively limited or simplistic IMO. A lot of that has to do with limitations in the mechanics of the game though. For example, if crouching or the ability to go prone were introduced, this would certainly open up new ways in which you could approach engagements, use various bits of the environment for concealment/cover, sneak up on positions, etc. As it is, you are limited to available cover that you are allowed to "snap" to. Personally, that was one aspect of GRW that I loved even with it's flaws. .....especially the lethality. That was the most fun I had playing with friends in a game in a long time. A lot of freedom in the way you could approach objectives, choose roles, etc. .....but, TD1 and TD2 are still fun for me. Just a different kind of fun. ....and yeah, when working with a friend or two, it is satisfying when everything clicks. We usually establish fall back positions when possible and communicate as we push forward, suppress, flank, reloading, etc. The folks I play TD2 with were the same folks I played GRW with so we already have a rapport going and know how to communicate with one another. It's even fun solo as I've already got 43 hrs into it (and 21 hrs in coop). .....much, much more to go.
-
I've got 43 hours in solo play and 21 hours in coop play. For my solo character, I'm at level 24 and still have about 1/3 of the map to really explore. .....not including side missions and other activities I still dabble in within the other zones I've cleared. I'm taking my time and there's still tons of action. I try not to use fast travel too often and I get involved where I can in random activities (e.g. friendly engagements, faction fights, hostage rescues, wandering enemies, broadcasts, supply drops, etc.).
-
That's your choice. Good luck.
-
Like most games IME, seems I heard way more chatter back when RDO released as opposed to now.
-
After the Spring Update I'll have to re-evaluate what cards I'll be using given the new mechanics that will be in place for the defensive mode.
-
.....and this is precisely why I said your remarks wouldn't help @NDX47. Let's stop the baiting responses and personal jabs at this point. Stay on topic.
-
Yeah, definitely a different ball of wax. TD1 and TD2 are RPG looter shooters. In that genre, I think the franchise does it well as I'm not a big fan of Destiny and the like. Hell, I'm not even a huge fan of the Division but I like it better than most in that type of game. I would really rather be playing tactical shooters than looter shooters. Although they stopped short of delivering what could have been a really cool game, I thought Ghost Recon Wildlands was one the best things Ubi had released in a long time. .....until they started dumbing it down instead of building on what made it unique in the console market.

We have an active thread on the topic in General. I will merge this thread with that one.

It's the kind of stuff that looks great on paper but falls flat on execution. Most players out there playing online games either don't have mics or refuse to use them. .....and those that do either abuse it or would rather not deal with those people so they mute or use party chat. I can't tell you how long it's been since I actually heard someone else talk in RDO when playing Free Roam alone. I've checked my settings several times just to be sure.

@The_Liquor is right. This should be no surprise and what we should expect up to at least April 9th (next Tuesday). That is the end date of this schedule they provided to us. Whether that means the big Spring Update comes the next week after that or we should expect more, smaller updates, I don't know. For me, I'm neck deep in another game right now and haven't touched RDO for the last 3 weeks or so. I'm just waiting until the the big one drops. I'm in it for the long haul.
