I believe you still keep those items to use with the new character (given GBs can be bought with real money), but if someone doesn't respond here with an answer that makes you feel confident enough to take the chance, I would recommend contacting R* support to confirm:

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll see if anyone else has some data on the matter and then check in with that link.

All in all, I might just stick with the character and hope they give us, at some point, at least one chance to redo their look. I couldn't get the mouth sliders to work at all in between crashes, so I just went with what I had.

Update: I actually used the link you posted and found this link through that one: https://support.rockstargames.com/articles/360017439794/Deleting-Characters-in-Red-Dead-Online

If anyone is considering starting over, you lose everything you've done/spent. Something to consider before deleting a character.

I have to figure that a character redo would make sense given it was added to GTAO.  ....and of course, if they offer it at a price at a tidy sum of in-game cash or gold bars, it may be another excuse for some folks to buy/spend.

I'm not above throwing some money at that, or gold bars for that matter. Fingers crossed it's an option down the road. For now, I'll just stick with my grimacing thin lipped lady, and wait and see.

I see you found your answer. But yes, you loose everything except your gold and money. Any items or unlocks will be gone.

But, R* has said there will be a one-time free redo of your character (and each subsequent re-do can be done for a fee). Not sure when they are going to introduce the feature, but it's been up on the site since the last big update.

@Kean_1

Do you recall the source where you saw this?

Normally in real life I wear either a ponytail or braided ponytail, but the ponytail options in RDO are hideous, unkempt messes with a giant hair "part" right down the middle of the head, so I finally settled on the premium hairstyle which is mostly down but tied back. (Can't recall the name at the moment, but it cost 1 gold bar)

Figured I needed an updated photo with a few newer clothing items. I wish we could save more than 3 custom outfits to keep stored in our wardrobe so I don't have to keep sacrificing outfits for new ones.

Here are some of our posse characters that have been made. In are Posse/Crew every member eventually receives their own Cigarette Card. The first card is my player.

Cool cards dude, that shot of Rooster Roughneck is definitely my favourite and the short descriptions of each member really add something. That last guy Dan Hudson is the spitting image of Andreas Müller from Red Dead Redemption so I wouldn't wanna cross him at the Poker table.

Seems R* took down the page it was on, as it's gone back to the old page. (R*'s own Features - Customization page). Possibly an accidental leak. But these youtubers all caught it before it was reverted.

My character is named Squint Westward, riding a horse named Tuco.  His wardrobe is varied depending on mood, level, and money.  He’s got a military veteran look, some normal looking period clothing, and an almost sort of Clint look for fun.  I’m hoping to do a Tombstone look someday.
