I finally got my (4th) last MVP for The Real Deal trophy with my original ugly character, it was a beautiful thing. Everyone got rammy *just* behind me. My horse found another gear, I was 2 lengths ahead of 2nd and 3rd, when 3rd started swiping 2nd. 2nd warned 3rd to race fair and clean, or it was "on", 3rd pulled a gun. Shots rang out, but this time I was about 12 lengths ahead... I kept mashing "X" and guided into Stamina barrels to stay topped up. Crossed the finish line a full 9 seconds ahead of a totally different 2nd and 3rd LOL.

Blingk!

Then I promptly deleted that ugly bish, didn't care that I was level 11.

Hellooooo, much nicer character! Couldn't angle the eyebrows to be more horisontal like mine, but I'm MUCH more pleased with my new look.

I'm on my third character generation and will likely delete him and do it again.  I seem to be unable to get the look that I want.  When I create the character everything looks "pretty good".  Then I enter the game and see the character in a cinematic mode and think, "What the hell is wrong with this dude's face?!?"  lol

Chins seem particularly tricky.

So far, the first character was male, the second female, and now on my third, another male. I am confident my third try will be the charm and I'll probably go female again.  Just stay away from the heavy makeup!  hehehe

I like seeing these. It is possible to make a good custom character in RDR2 but it does take some patience.

When creating a new character it can be worth trying the Randomize option until you get a good base to work from. Some people might find this tedious but I kind of enjoy looking over the possibilities. And while you might have to sift through a lot of random characters before you find one with potential, it's not nearly as time-consuming as, say, playing the slot machines in Dragon Quest 11, or finishing the RDR2 Gambling challenges...

I've made a total of 12 attempts on characters so far, 10 girls 2 guys... my last one is the best one? Oh hell no, from my 3rd try onwards, every single time I regreted deleting that character, that was looking like a real goddess, but no, let's redo it because the cheeks could go 1 inch lower... I was NEVER able to recreate that beautiful face again, every other girl was a failure attempt at reaching that maximum beauty..... I'm sad.
ANYWAYS, my actual guy right now ( I go into automatic fetal position when I try another girl ), the one I will stick with until they say they fixed the creation system so I don't dive in depression is this guy...

This is the currently obese Wendel Hunt and his trusty steed Chestnutz.  He tends to indulge a little too much in the Minty Big Game hence the expanded mid rift.

He is madly in love with Zampen's character but is tragically heartbroken as we are cross platform😍😭

It isnt a great picture, I was using these to send to R* about a clothing glitch I was experiencing, I still am actually.

I made my character to look like a combination of the Old minor from Disney;s Thunder MT Railroad roller coaster and a mash up of Bob Dawson and other outlaws from the 1950's and 1960's Western Tv shows.

A little over weight, a few scars, bad teeth, a few warts, an older guy who has survived the Indian wars, the carpet baggers, the sheep herders, and cattle rancher wars, someone who has seen a lot and experienced a lot, and lived to tell about it, a post civil war guy, who fought in the war in the 1860's and now in the 1890's he is just looking for some peace and quiet, but knows how to fight and survive if need be.

He isnt perfect or meant to be, his weathered face tells a million stories, he likes the simple things like good whiskey and a good horse, and a good stew, he is a little thick in the middle after years of taking it easy and enjoying life along the way, this is the character I made.

I also wanted a unique character and if you look around, I have not seen a single other character that is over weight, everyone is in perfect health and sorry but it just isnt realistic, in my 71 levels I have not seen or met a single player with a character that was made intentionally overweight, not one.

First I need to learn how to upload ingame-pics, I`ve only got screenshots of (one of) mine, chief Ten Beers. Here he is, riding bareback and barefoot in Saint Denis

Was just wondering, since I've seen lots of people posting about it: if you delete a character, I know you start over from level one, but do you lose the horses/gear/saddles/etc you spent gold on? Or do they remain unlocked and waiting for use for when you hit that level?

Barely hit 15 last night, and my poor woman's lips are so thin that she has a constant skeleton grimace. I wanted her to be tough and ugly, but not that ugly.

I believe you still keep those items to use with the new character (given GBs can be bought with real money), but if someone doesn't respond here with an answer that makes you feel confident enough to take the chance, I would recommend contacting R* support to confirm:
