Posses are now available - POST IN SUB FORUM FOR RECRUITMENT

Howdy you pesky cotton pickin varmints. You can now create Posses right here on the RDR2 forum, which allow you to create and control your own areas of the forum for whatever topic you may wish.

Looking for like-minded players who enjoy rolepaying? Add or join an existing Posse. Want some players who are around your age and who take the game seriously? There's a Posse for that already.

https://www.rdr2.org/forums/clubs/

You can give users certain access levels, upload a cover photo for your Posse, and also give it an icon, as seen below. You need to have at least 20 posts to create a Posse.

Posse Types

Three types of Posse are available:

Public Posses
Posses that anyone can see and participate in without joining.

Open Posse
Posses that anyone can see and join.

Closed Posse
Posses that anyone can see in the directory, but joining must be approved by a Posse Leader or Posse Moderator. Non-Posse-members who view the Posse will only see the member list - not the recent activity or content areas.

Posse Users

Each Posse has three levels of user:

Leader
A leader has all of the permissions of a moderator, and can add other moderators. They can also add content areas. The Posse owner is automatically a leader.

Moderators
Moderators, as the name implies, have the ability to moderate content posted within the Posse.

Users
Anyone else that joins the Posse.

Hey Benjo,

Is there a way to include some sort of indicator that could show what platform these clubs are established on (e.g. PC, PS4, XB1)?  As it is right now, I have no idea how to determine that.  Unless everyone includes their platform in their title, I don't know how folks will be able to tell.

Thank

What if I like my turkey sandwiches with three pieces of bread, cut into 4 triangles with frilly toothpicks? Is there a club for that?

I have a few questions...

Does this mean we will have our own sections where anything can be discussed? Cause it sounds like we are basically being handed the horse and being told to go wild otherwise lol

Also... Are these basically forum user groups? I have been part of these on other forums so I have an idea of what this may be but I could be wrong.

Yes so they are basically mini-forum areas where you have your own message board, and members to whom you have given sufficient permissions can create and reply to topics.

No, as these are general clubs for the forum, not just game specific, the club owner would need to add any console information into the title or description.

I actually just found a setting in the backend where we can add fields that are displayed like so:

I've made one for platforms, LMK if there is any others that would be useful.

Will these clubs have a direct correlation with our in-game groups or is this strictly for the forum? I  ask because if it does tie in, I want to wait until the game comes out before I decide.

It's a way for crews/clans/clubs/posses to organise themselves for the game

Personally (i;m on PS4 btw), I'm looking at it as an opportunity to befriend more like-minded gamers so that when RDR2 does come out, we'll have a pool of players/friends that we can choose from.  In a way, it can also be used as a tool to vet players for your particular group,  playstyle, etc.

In my case, I'm just looking for older folks on PS4 like me who are just looking to have a good time and prefer to work with each other as a team (vs. just griefing players, etc.).  We obviously don't know what the different play modes will consist of at this time so we'll have to see how all that plays out.  I would just rather have a pool of folks I could tap into when the game releases rather than trying to brave the RDR2 online gameworld alone.   ......and if GTAV:O is any indication of the potential for players to grief the weak and loaners, I would prefer to have buddies I can rely on.

Nice I like this feature. I'll have to see if I can get a friend or two on here who I plan on playing with.

Doesn't Rockstar do something like this? Or have they? I could have sworn they had some kind of social accounts for groups but my guess is it was limited.

Yes, their R* Social Club is available but currently doesn't include RDR2.  I'm sure that will change once we get closer to or after the release of the game.  However, I see this forum (and these clubs) as simply an additional source that we can tap to find players just like PS4 Communities, etc.

Here is a link to the R* Social Club for reference.  It worked for them with GTAV:O so I'm sure they will utilize it with RDR2:

I should probably change that as some will likely take it as some sort of strict criteria.

I'm not thinking of any particular age group.  Just looking for folks who are easy-going and like to work as a team, help slower/newer players out in the group, etc.  .....the opposite of rude, annoying people with self important attitudes trying to impress everyone else in the group that take themselves or the game too seriously. ;)  Perhaps more mature in that sense although even the use of the word "mature" tends to rub some people the wrong way.

I'm at the half century mark myself although I've had PSN friends from their 20s on up to my age.

So in these clubs... can we actually do the whole hardcore role-playing? Like, have it be a rule for the club we make? I was doing something like this on another forum that involved a different game. I joined the group and had to stay in character with everything I posts. It was quite fun.

It's whatever you want.  You can even make the club closed where you can vet players before allowing them to join.  Just set the rules in the description.  As long as you're not breaking any forum rules with your club, I'm guessing Management would just fine with it.

So do we make our requests for clubs here then? I have a few ideas. I just have to decide on which one I want to go with. I would imagine once you pick the name, it can't be changed?

You can join or make your own Club in the Clubs section of the forum, the Club's name, description, logo, background and platform can be changed if your not happy with your initial choices.

This is exactly what I'm looking for, as well. I joined your PS4 club, @Kean_1. See you in . . . well, several months. ????

Hi Cokey,

Yeah, can't wait either.  I also have a PSN Community I started called "Red Dead Redemption 2 - TeamUp".   There is currently just 2 of my good PSN friends on there but feel free to join in if you wish (no pressure).  I try to keep it updated with news, etc. but I created it for the same goal.  .....to create a pool of players we can all draw from, make new PSN friends for the game, etc.

Yep, we're still quite a ways out. I have a feeling this forum (and by proxy, the clubs) will pop come October. Everything should fall into place then.

Yeah, I'm sure the activity around here will begin to go into overdrive about then.  It has already picked up in recent days.

Mea culpa Skunk

I'm too lazy and lack the creativity to make my own so if anyone is recruiting just let me know. I really dig this feature on the forum though. I must have missed it before.

It's relatively new.
