Please use this thread to discuss the new gameplay trailer :)

The deaths look so real, how they fall, how their bodies fly in the direction of the bullet they've been hit with.

Did anyone see this where a guy was shot on horseback and the horse threw him off? Looked amazing:

Also this guy looked super realistic how he fell:

Hyped!!!!

One of the things I've noticed about Rockstar overall: they tend to build upon their successes as a company when it comes to game design.  Every iteration of GTA has improved and tweaked little things (as well as some big things), and the polish on the physics engine has shown consistent improvement across their titles.

Indeed.

If the multiplayer is anywhere NEAR as awesome as this single-player footage appears to be, I may have a hard time doing anything else. Much to my wife n' kids' chagrin.  ????

This was even more than I'd hoped for. Just wish we could have seen/heard some from Marston.

Here's the link.  More to come so it seems:

It's incredible how realistic they make games look these days... The scenery they showed was amazing!

Odd/interesting/totally random, but one of the suggested videos after watching the trailer is about the robots we sell at work (Universal Robots).

Are YOU in any of those videos?

Nah. Though we did uncover 2 videos I was in like 10 years ago. One was a weird/stupid ninja thing we did for cinema class, the other was a music video my buddy made (equally as stupid).

Robots are much more interesting lol

They are different for every person based on your history, so it will have been showing because you watched it in the past or a similar video.

That makes sense. Not sure when I watched a UR video, but I wouldn't doubt that I have at some point. Now I feel dumb lol

Right on schedule, Rockstar Games has published our first look at Red Dead Redemption 2's gameplay. The first in a series of trailers introduces us to the core of the game, the vast open world and various ways to interact with it. Check out the full trailer below.

This is the single biggest information drop about the game we got since it was announced, finally giving us a feel of what actually playing the game will be like. Scripted scenes are interspersed with raw gameplay footage showing us the UI, the perspective and the view from which we will enjoy the game ourselves.

Coming in at 6 minutes, this isn't just a small lick to tide us over but the real deal. Fans are already hard at work analyzing every minute aspect of the footage seen to dig up something not outright stated by the narrator, but even without delving into that the trailer is a treasure trove of information.

The footage shown is captured in-engine at 4K, and the game looks absolutely stunning. Rockstar Games is setting the bar for video game visuals with this release, and one of the first things that jumps out is that they managed to finally nail something video games have struggled with since their inception - facial animations.

We've been getting impressive, sweeping vistas and fantastic water physics for years now, but even recent big-budget AAA games couldn't get human faces to look natural when in motion, but based on this trailer, Red Dead Redemption 2 is the first game to venture beyond the borders of Uncanny Valley.

The best thing? There is more to come. This is just Part 1 of the gameplay trailer series Rockstar has put together to introduce us all to the world of Red Dead Redemption 2. The next gameplay video will show off the game's various activities, such as missions, hunting and side quests.

Stay tuned for our in-depth analysis of the gameplay trailer.

Not one shot from first person view. Reason to think it's not in? I loved the thought of riding a horse in first person and would be disappointed if it's not in there. Anyone heard anything about this?

I never really thought about that, would be interesting in first person, but I don't see it happening!

After watching the trailer, I'm still blown away. The graphics, the immerssiveness, the lighting, the animals... gaaahh! Even being able to groom your horse?!?! ???? I love the horse behaviours too because no horse behaves perfectly 100% of the time. This seems to be the truest cowboy game there is!
I'm more of a point and shoot person (and I'm used to that in RDR1), but the amount of work they've put into the physical brawls adds a whole new dimension we didn't have in RDR1. The characters feel so sturdy and movements are so smooth and natural, it looks excellent! I love the option to defuse a situation with criminals instead of them just shooting at you when you're trying to do your own thing like hunt. Everything feels so... solid, like it should be there and the characters seem sturdy in themselves. I can't explain it so I hope someone else knows what I mean and can explain it better. I can't wait for the next video!

Yeah, they talked about how they were going to focus on a lot of those elements they wish they could of in RDR and GTAV.  I think there are going to be a lot of these cool animations, physics refinements, etc. that (when combined) bring life and immersion to the environment.  Nature reacting to the player and all that stuff.  .....really cool indeed.

I wonder when the next video will come out as this is obviously the first in a series.  I'd imagine the last will touch on multiplayer?

So GTA 5 released its Gameplay trailer on the 9th of July and their Online trailer a month after. In between, we had a slew of more screenshots released. Maybe that’s what we can expect next? I’m predicting 2 gameplay trailers and then an RDRO trailer just before launch.

I love that the ability to diffuse a situation or brawl instead of murder has been added. That’s truly a step towards realism. Not every confrontation has to end in a gun fight.

I am salivating. THIS LOOKS INCREDIBLE! I love how they call Arthur "pretty boy" LOL

I just have no words. The camps sound incredible. You actually work within the group and help them and they help you. I am going to not have a life soon outside of RDR2.

The fact that we get to choose what kind of man Arthur makes me feel like I am going to enjoy this game even more than I thought. It is making me think there are 2 endings for him based on moral. If you are more good than bad, one thing will happen and if you are more bad than good, another thing will happen.
