  1. This is a big one for me. The campaign doesn't have co-op and there is no private session options now or in the foreseeable future. Also, it's not all about hunting and fishing. Some PvE'ers and co-op parties want to partake in the story and side missions of RDO as well like I (and my friends) do. R* created RDO as an experience for all players (PvP and PvE alike) and they have stated time and time again: ....or rather, an online shooting game meant to blend PvE and PvP gameplay together. What do I expect? ......balance. To be brutally honest, all I care about is that R* has recognized that many of their customers are not happy with the current trolling problem and they are willing to do something about it. Whether that will help or make the problem worse is another story.

  2. I disagree. They should parley, leave the area or leave the game. They crossed that imaginary line the moment they opened fire depending one how and when they shot. Lol? Maybe I do need a shrink. This is my brain when I start fighting against griefers..

  3. The problem I see with this solution is that basically all you are doing by sending lawman after them is feeding them xp. As for jail time, one in game day is not long at all, maybe two days and some monetary loss followed by public hanging.

  4. How about this for a solution? You want to kill other players fine, but make it so that doing so triggers the wanted system like killing an NPC. If a witness(player or NPC) sees you killing another player, you are reported to the law. When the law brings you down, you are placed in "jail" effectively locking you out of online play for a set time period, say a couple of minutes. The more you kill before the law gets you, the longer your "jail" time. I think that would be a more realistic punishment for murder.

  6. It works just fine. I started a ps4 community and add all friends who message me stating they are from these forums. From there I'm able to join their sessions. Most of the time if no one even requests my help I will still pop in their session and keep a keen eye on them as i hunt for birds. If you are part of the Hell-4-Hire community don't be surprised if you see a friendly pink dot just out of rifle range. It's fun for me. I keep an eye on my flock from vantage points using binoculars or rifle scopes plus the mini map. Kinda feel like a private eye or something. I don't really need to grind for cash anymore(although I still do) so it keeps my interest .

  7. Turning Armadillo into a cholera ravaged ghost town was not a good idea. New Austin lacks a decent social hub like Saint Denis or Valentine and Blackwater. The whole state seems empty. I'm hoping that long term there is a point to this creative decision.

  8. Simply answered this game isn't Fortnite/Pubg or a Battlefield/COD game where it's all about PvP. If that's what you are seeking there are game modes specifically for that. This game allows you to immerse yourself into the world of Red Dead, I'm going to assume you never played the first Red Dead where there were Posse's of all types in there as we well as those who engage heavily with a bit of Roleplay in them (meetings, assassinations, alliances, wars, etc.). Also people Griefing is completely different from PvP. Literally the other day I was killed 4 times while trying to fish, firs time I brushed it off and didn't retaliate after the 3rd time I wanted to see when he would grow tired of killing a non violent person who just wanted to fish. After the 4th I got annoyed and sniped him, he then ran away and left the server. This kid didn't just kill me for the sake of PvP he completely "griefed" by just spawn killing me as I minded my own business and clearly didn't want to participate in PvP at the moment. Now the other issue is, it isn't a matter of just PvPing which I wouldn't mind engaging in from time to time, but the fact that the servers are all Auto Aim where you can literally be running, horseback riding etc.. and the aggressor literally just has to aim and tap the analog stick a little up and shoot with an instant kill doesn't seem fun to me. Now if Free Aim was the main aiming setting then I would be okay with someone randomly shooting me which would at least give me a fighting chance. People don't like being ran up on and instantly get killed with a headshot by someone going 20 mph on a horse, or constantly spawn killed with an easy headshot. In short Free Roams aren't about PvPing, people like to PvP and others simply don't. Which is why my Gang doesn't kill random players unless they're hostile. There are game modes, missions etc for PvP in the game and then there are other games out there where you can go and kill people over and over again, once again RDR online isn't that. I hope I don't come across as rude or condescending in any way it's hard to tell the text tone of a post lol.

  9. I for one am tired of looking over my shoulder all the time and running around in crouched position just to avoid a$$hats. There is a large community that plays the game as intended but there is also a large segment that wants to make the whole damned place a big fortnite and frankly I am tired of these people. We need invite only sessions and we need them sooner rather than later. But the a$$hats have also paid there money and deserve to play it to there liking. So again we need invite only sessions. The best answer in my opinion. I continue to put that into my feedback on daily basis and I encourage all of you to do the same.

  10. Although I'm not really good at PvP as my reflexes are not there anymore, I don't mind getting into the occasional gun fight for a brief period. Events as you describe could be added and done in structured events, this would allow people to participate when active and go sell their wares when not. There is no reason why this game cannot cater to both types of players, furthermore, the way the game's auto aim is set, this will never give a true PvP feeling. And yes, we have the single player mode for hunting and whatever, but some people would like to do those activities and exploring along side friends without having to worry about losing all their pelts and such just because some random was bored and decided to kill them while they were fishing or whatever.

  11. Instead of focusing on fixing the bugs which have persisted since launch so they can release new MEANINGFUL content, they focus on working on Gun Rush.

  12. I think that's the problem right there. This isn't an online shooting game. COD is. Far Cry is. Over Watch is. I would classify RDO as more of a Western Sim. Yes, there can be and should be a "you can get shot at anytime" component, but that isn't the focus of the game. It's also something that I should be able to opt INTO. Sometimes I'm on to fish for a few hours to gain enough money to buy that new gun I want. It's hard to do and gets annoying when some random comes up and kills me. I could ALMOST see the pointif there was some type of benefit to the "griefer". I'm all for PVP, WHEN I WANT to be in PVP, not when some jerky-jerk decides I should be.

  13. agreed people were fighting us on the hills eventually someone parleyed with me so I couldn't even attack them yet they were able to attack my posse members, felt like it was a huge mistake and disadvantage. instead of Parleying a player make it the Posse or the favorite passive mode where they can attack other players either.

  14. The larger issue with The Division was the introduction of gear sets that were specifically designed for a pigeon-holed game play experience. Either you farmed and maxed out PvP gear, or you farmed and maxed out end-game PvE gear--there was no balance between the sets. Players who hadn't farmed or learned the PvP mechanics and built their character around PvE endgame content (i.e. "Legendaries" or "Raids") didn't stand much of a chance against a player in the DZ who was built to melt them down. Think back to the imbalance issues with things like a full set of D3 armer being mulched by Striker, or any of the other trendy "DZ" builds. Then they started nerfing skills and abilities for the DZ and gimped PvE gameplay, or they buffed enemies to the point that it took two whole mags to burn down an NPC. Meanwhile, a Rogue could mow you down with half a mag from behind. That's not balanced game play, and it was a major issue with the game for a LONG time. Is it wrong that I think of New Jack from ECW when I see the title of this video, let alone hear the song. Still the most impressive wrestler I've ever seen perform live.

  15. Rockstar's promotional material says Red Dead Redemption 2 Online is to be a "fun and fair environment for everyone" and that we can "Explore the world solo or with friends." Getting headshot while spawning in or while fishing doesn't quite fit that bill for me. Rockstar is going to do what they are going to do. I just wish they would be more honest about it. If they want the bullies to continue to act that way with no repercussions, they need to say so and let us know they're not going to follow what was said in their promotional material. Some people actually counted on them keeping their word (as stated in their own press releases). Of course, it's still a beta and maybe Rockstar will clean up the mess that this game is now. My best solution is to give us PvE servers along with whatever these servers are now. If that's not going to happen, I'm in favor of punishment fitting the crime for these back shooting bullies. If the combat is not mutual combat, the perpetrator needs to be dealt with, just like in the Old West. Loss of money doesn't hurt enough and neither does time in jail. I want 10 of their levels to disappear for every occurrence of nonmutual combat and their loss of levels would also prevent them from using weapons, clothing, etc., based on their new level. Sure, you can grief if you want, but it's going to cost you. I'd take that headshot a little better knowing there are some actual consequences behind the act.

  16. The only counter-point to this would be what happened to me last night; I accepted a stranger mission to retrieve a boat, which I was doing solo. A posse of three rode after me, but I made it to the point in the river where I entered a cut scene. The millisecond I came out of the cut scene, I took a head shot, got called a "noob b*tch" and then harassed for the next five minutes by this threesome, riding down on me within seconds of spawning and just running a train on me. It didn't bother me, but when you literally have folks approaching level 100 grouping up on a level 8 player, no amount of head shots or tactics are going to offset better weaponry, equipped cards, etc., I can easily see why some folks would be aggrieved and just quit the game. Once they got bored, I rode to the nearest fast-travel post and just jumped across the map to greener pastures. No sweat off my nose. The game's mechanics encourage players to gang up and bully folks like a bunch of Alpha Hotels that didn't get enough hugs from mom and dad growing up. Judging from the voices, I'd put them at high-school age or maybe college, but far from fully formed adults. But the point is, not everyone has the luxury to posse up with a group of good, let alone reliable, players. I'm slowly building my group up, but when I'm forced to endure constant disconnects when I do try to join a session, R* is effectively putting up roadblocks to the very activity that is most commonly proscribed to truncate being victimized or aggrieved. Telling folks that they need to posse up or wait for R* to implement private lobbies isn't a viable solution when neither is reliably available at this juncture. I'm not into taking hints, but I am a glutton for punishment. On the plus side, every moment a griefer spends focused on me, other innocent players can get away. I'm content to waste someone's time who doesn't realize their being distracted. When R* is marketing the game as an RPG with PvE gameplay, having the entirety of the experience be nothing but PvP is misleading. Not advocating that they change the core mechanics, but they'd be alienating half the game playing population by having no PvE elements. And right now, that's exactly what they have, ZERO true PvE gameplay. Literally every mode is PvP, from the entire showdown and Gun Rush game variants, to "Free Roam" which is really just a playground for opportunists to prey up on players of disproportionate skill. There's literally five or six other game modes devoted to PvP, is it really so unreasonable to allow players who wish to opt out of the PvP experience and have a PvE environment. You seem to be focused on what is necessary for your own personal enjoyment of the game, which is fine, but ignoring that there's a very large portion of the player population who view the online mode as an online story mode that lets them play with friends. R* markets the game as such, so it's disingenuous to expect everyone to buy into the online experience when it's entirety is PvP. Labeling Free Roam "PvEvP" is a blatant misrepresentation because PvP is ALWAYS on. I've said it before and I'll say it again: making PvP and PvE status a toggle with a 30 or 60 second cool down once out of combat is still the most effective way to cater to all parties in a fair and equitable way. PvP players lose nothing, they can still PvP against anyone else so inclined. If anything, it adds complexity and nuance as players could have PvE decoys to lure PvP players in and then pounce on them. PvE players gain the peace and serenity of not being bushwacked and ganged up on by a bunch of trolling losers whose only enjoyment comes from aggrieving others. Trolls are the only losers in this scenario, and I have yet to see a valid argument against this model. If it's good enough for the most successful MMORPG of all time (WoW), it should be good enough for RDRO. Exactly my point. The core gameplay of TD was built around cooperative gameplay that allowed players to actively choose when to endanger themselves by entering the DZ of their own volition. And I agree about the rush--I don't personally PvP, but I knew what to expect when going into the DZ and goofing around. It's a great "change of pace" mechanic from the main game play, but I couldn't see an entire game built around that mechanic being sustainable in the long term, and that's what we're in danger of with RDRO--once the PvE players go away, and there's nobody for the Trolls to prey upon, they'll get bored as well. You go into the DZ now in TD, and all you hear about is people whining about how much it sucks now because PvE players aren't forced to go in there for loot like they were back when some of the best loot was gated in there. Can you imagine if the entire TD experience was like the DZ? It'd never be sustainable long term--if it were, TD2 would have gone that route, but they didn't. Completely agree. There's plenty of NPC's and anyone begging for more needs to step up and go into St. Denis with a posse pulling "a Number 6". No shortage of NPC's there...

  17. No joke, I've restarted online about five times now (the most recent being two weekends ago), and I'm not the least bit sorry. Sure, I'm probably about fifty or so levles behind where I should be, but the only thing I've lost has been some clothing. Not a big deal, imo. But now, I'm finally happy with the end result. If my laudanum-addled, overall-clad, shirtless, alcoholic with a heart of gold could just get into Gun Rush games with more frequency, I'd be happy.

  18. To be fair, a lot of these morons will keep running at you . You have to kill them repeatedly. They are dense and can’t take a hint. But I will happily kill you as many times as you like. No need to chase you because you keep coming to me with your lemming mentality. Much like The Divsion, people want an open world game to cater to a certain pve crowd. The DZ was a sh*t show but I loved the chaotic vibe. I bought the game knowing this and was fine with it. I wouldn’t expect a game to cater to my play style. If I don’t like it, I move on ( ie For Honor). This argument will never end because PVE only players want to hunt in peace and harmony, others want to watch the world burn and people like me learn to adapt. Best thing R* can do is stick to whatever their vision is for the game. When you start chopping and dicing core mechanics.....you end up with a waterdown product. This is the main reason I left Destiny 2. Bungie listened to the whiners, causing a watered down product.

  19. I really liked hte madden where you built your player and used him in the games. Haven't been a fan of madden since they took that away, especially now that they're pushing the online mode and fantasy mode more. It has too much fluff now.

  20. And what if they kill all the law men? Problem is this. Even the NPCs can be in the wrong sometimes and instigate a fight with a player, yet the player defending themselves now has to deal with the law. Just imagine how messed up and backwards it would be in terms of pvp in free roam. A posse of 4 decide to attack me. I kill them all.. now I have to deal with lawmen too? So now I have to kill players and NPC lawmen.. and for some reason the more I defend myself the more jail time il get?

  21. Again.. Private lobbies is not a band aid. The game is designed to be a FFA in public free roam. Band Aids are what you want. And you have offered nothing that would stop griefing. Because when you talk about griefing you talk about getting killed by players. Which is pvp. So you want a band aid that prevents pvp from happening in a game where PVP is part of the game design. Game needs private lobbies. If you want to think of private lobbies as slap in the face or ban aid, that's your choice. Most people will simply see that as a simple solution because that allows you to control who you play with.

  22. That's what I'm saying. People just wanna sit here and complain and not try to do anything about but want the game to completely change because they too weak or bad. I got my ass handed to me when I first started out. But I learned, adapted, got better, ranked up hard. Now I dare a mofo to roll up on me and try something. Like if you aren't that great in pvp then posse up, network. Or get better at running out avoiding stuff.

  23. I usually lone wolf when not enough of my friends are on or they doing that story mission farming thing. I've always been capable of going alone and I do like it cuz I don't have to watch anyone but myself and I die less or get dragged into unnecessary situations when alone. Plus I like to hunt with just a bow and lasso, makes it more fun but sometimes takes more time and most people are impatient. Just network well and I have a good 30+ people to run with when I choose to log at all hours. I've had some good belly hurtin laughs with the people I play with.

  24. I find the best way to deal with griefers or whatever, is getting better or having some gunners in your posse. This keeps them accountable. If they attack you and you annihilate them, they will retreat most times. Learn to defend yourself. I remember I use to sherpa groups in the Dz(The Division), and it would drive me nuts when the group got jumped people rather flee than fight. Why not fight back??!! It was part of the game as much as it is in RDRO. Predators always go for the easy meal. I don't want this game to get watered down into a Western Farmville. Private lobbies is the balance, otherwise you kill the essence of Free for All. Many players don't mind being among the wolves and hyenas. For players that don't, Private servers would be your safe haven.

  25. Real constructive and mature reply there. This game has more to offer than fishing and hunting and could be a great online experience if R* put in some effort. Adding more dynamic events and tweaking the behaviour and attacks of the npcs would go a long way in fixing this game. With the hard lock auto aim and the slow, clunky movement's of our toons, this will never be a good PvP experience.

  26. Most of the people I use to game with are still logging crazy hours a week on Destiny 2. I just got burnt on the grind , in fighting among clan mates, mind numbing grind, etc. So I haven't touched it since last DLC. No one I knew played RDRO. I stumbled upon a great community of people and I feel that makes RDRO fun. Now I had run into a ton of annoying players that I ran with once and that was it. But when you find a good group of players, it makes all the difference IMO. It is amazing how much you get done when you have a group all on the same page. Much like Destiny 2 , being part of a good group of people makes a world of difference. Games like this are more fun with others.

  27. They're just whiners. If all they want to do is hunt then they can go buy Cabellas hunting and stop drowning us in their tears.
    1 point
  28. Well yeah! Why not? Best plan for dealing with griefers is to remove those who really want to PvP into PvP game modes. So it is just griefers and PvE players, how could they go wrong with that plan?

  29. The reality is RD O is mean to be a FFA game. Those that do not want any sort of pvp interactions need to be asking for private lobbies.

Then he came over and started showing off and talking about how much money he has in game and irl lol. I will sometimes even hear the sounds of them but when I get off the horse and look around, I can't find anything. Is this a well-known glitch or something? Should I let Rockstar know? I mean at first I thought maybe it was just me but it happens often now.

I dislike the complete absence of interaction, it makes for an awful atmosphere at camp, and on the nights he's pitched my tent facing outwards, the mangy old muskrat, just awful. I try whistling but it doesn't help really... There is a part solution by forming a persistent posse, you get to choose your county, I've tied my camp to Scarlett Meadows, where I generally run around in aimless circles having fun and cackling (with the mic switched off thankfully...). It's called Scarlett's Hen Party but I don't imagine anyone else will ever turn up. It'll be just me and him and a bottle o beer. Cheers bigears...

  34. Were there any DLC packs for GTA V? No. Did R* make a gazillion dollars from GTA V? Oh yes. I think that RDR2 will be the same, there’s enough in the core game to keep casual offline gamers happy for many moths (as opposed to the few days gameplay for titles like Tomb Raider and Call of Duty). I believe that R* will add more to the online aspect of the game and pretty much ignore story mode. Online is where the money is, this has been proven time and time again for many popular franchises. I personally prefer story mode, I don’t have the time or mentality for online gaming. Will the lack of story mode DLC stop me from enjoying RDR2? No, not really- there’s plenty for me to do in this world.

  37. As soon as you unlock the Fence in chapter 2 begin robbing trains! There is a spot in the North Grizzles where you can rob the train and not get any bounty. You'll average about $500 in cash per robbery so you can set yourself up with enough cash for the rest of the game pretty quickly. go to the tracks just above the O in AMBARINO, and wait for a train. ride along the coal car and jump on, replace the engine driver and drive entire train into the tunnel dispatch guards and rob all the passengers, then go back through the train killing each passenger and looting them, yes they were holding out on you..... Dynamite the 2 safes in each mail car and take the cash, this will alert the law so now its time to bounce. Oh, and hopefully you whistled for your horse when you jumped on the train . Ride out of the tunnel and head away from any lawmen in the area, you should be bounty free, go to the fence and sell all the valuables. I racked up $15 K in a few hours of rinse repeat, oh and navigating the train in the dark is much easier if you get the Miners hat before your 1st robbery

And last but not least many more missions and guns ! Lol

  44. Please show me the statistics where illegals are causing all the crime and or making this country unsafe, and don't just quote Fox News please. Also if you build a wall (and there is some built already) they will just dig under it. Build it 10 or 25 or 100 feet below ground they will just dig a little deeper. All republican presidents in my lifetime have needed fear of something to stay in power. Nixon had Vietnam, Reagan had ussr/cold war, Bush 2 had 911 and Trump came in with the fear of the awful vegetable pickers! A physical wall is wasteful and in that right very republican. A better smart wall is a great idea. There is no logic to thinking criminals are all coming here when the corrupt countries they are currently in offer much better opportunities than the US.
