  1. I give other posses the right away if I see they are in a mission. I go out of my way to avoid making them suspicious of my intentions. I have fired on players/posses that ride directly toward you like a bat out of hell with guns out. Sorry, not waiting around to see if you want some salted venison. I watched your blip and you purposely changed direction to head my way. Especially if I have a larger($625) drop. No way am I taking that chance. I'm not entitled and fully expect other players to treat me the same way. This world is big enough where you don't have to get all up in someone's personal space. But I have found some players/posses like to push the limit by getting so close that it causes them to be shot. All so they came scream... "They shot me!!! They shot me!!!!". Than they always act oh so innocent. Your innocent but I saw you scoping me from the rock. Please. It doesn't happen all the time but 90% of the time I shoot someone on a mission is because they deserved it. Bottom line if you see a posse/player with a $625 load, stay away unless you want to get shot or think you actually can take the wagon. I play with very aggressive people and very passive people, BUT both will shoot if you come to close during that drop.

  3. Hello Elite Cavalry are now recruiting we are a militia style posse. We use discord to communicate and is a requirement, we have a military style ranking system. We are a laidback and chilled posse and are now looking for members to join us. We are looking for people aged 16+ and already consist of over 60+ members from around the world. We are a pretty chilled out group of people who enjoy playing all aspects of the game and helping one another out and offering in game advice. There is no level requirement to join or uniform also a mic is preferred but not essential. Please fill out this short Recruitment Form and we look forward to hearing from you. Thank you. https://forms.gle/Jfat7rD1fbuM81kCA Rules and Guidelines 1. No griefing other players and causing any unnecessary conflict, attacking peoples stranger missions is ok however attacking someones trader sales is not as this is costly to the player and we wouldn't like it happening to us. If you are shot at first in any situation however then they have asked for trouble so by all means shoot them in the face. 2. If any of the posse members are in trouble or being griefed we are to help them however we can. We will help you in a fight only if you are outnumbered just post in the Chat Lobby that you are being griefed and post by how many if possible and we will join up on you and help you out. 3. People are to be respectful of others in party chat and discord. No hateful speech such as racism or homophobia. You can say whatever you like but if someone asks you to stop then you will be expected to stop. 4. Party chats are now to be created when doing other tasks such as large delivery or bounty and pvp these will be posted in a dedicated psn chat. This is to stop party chats being so hectic and having 3 things going off all at once. Once a task is completed people can rejoin the main chat but will need to remember to not interrupt when someone is talking. 5. In party chat try not to talk all at once as this can be hectic at times and let others speak try not to interrupt. 6. Help each other out and just enjoy playing the game. Also if you have any issues you can DM @The General @Major General or any of the @Brigadier's. Also I ask that you be loyal to the posse. Helping with Sales 1. Sales are to now be posted in the dedicated Sales Lobby instead of the Chat Lobby. Whichever Sale is at the top will be done first and then so on and so forth. Once a Sale is completed then it is to be removed from the thread by the person who posted it to show it has been completed. If there is a sufficient amount of sales and enough people we will run two sales at a time to ensure that everyone gets an opportunity at making money and levelling up. Any Sales that get posted in the Chat Lobby will be removed as the Sales in the Sales Lobby will take priority. 2. When helping on a Trader sale try not to go to the camp empty handed bring something to donate to Cripps as this will help fellow members. 3. @everyone who joins the posse will be expected to fast travel to camp or the moonshine shack and ride with the wagon to ensure it reaches the destination safely unless we have a private session. 4. If you feel a player is going to attack the wagon then feel free to shoot them so as to not jeopardise the sale. I recommend using explosive ammo for this if you have it. Promotions/ Demotions Criteria You can earn a promotion by doing as follows: 1. Showing up for fights and helping posse members who are being griefed 2. Helping posse members and newcomers in the PVE aspect of the game such as sales and leading sales 3. Being active and helpful in the game and also in the discord 4. Following the rules and guidelines 5. Coming up with good ideas and suggestions to contribute and better the group as a whole Demotions will happen if: 1. Not active in game or discord checking in wont secure your rank but will ensure you remain in the group 2. Not fulfilling role responsibilities 3. Not being helpful in the game or discord 4. Breaking rules If for any reason you are going to get demoted please dont take offense as its nothing personal against you it's just that there will be others that are more active and fulfilling the role requirements. People can always earn there way back to the role if they want it. The lowest you can get demoted to will be corporal. The Ranks @The General The leader of the Elite Cavalry @Major General Second in Command and trusted adviser of @The General and has full administrative responsibilities over the discord @Brigadier Trusted and experienced members of Elite Cavalry and are able to pin and delete messages and also rank members up accordingly. If you see a friendly that isn’t parlayed, shoot them to parley. 4. If you are shot by a friendly, DO NOT TAKE IT PERSONALLY. PARLEY IMMEDIATELY. 5. Follow orders given by First Division members. 4. Anyone else looking forward to modding in the PC version? I know it's not yet confirmed we will even be able to, but traditionally Rockstar Games has not gone out of its way to stop it (and I think when they were playing around with anti-cheat measures for GTA Online actually said that single player mods are OK). I for one am looking forward to seeing what the creators come up with!

  5. I have long been called Coyote by friends, family, online, etc. so I am very happy to see it was available here So, I am new here. Decided to join on the account of getting the game in November. Not sure I active I will be but don't hold that against me! I love the look of this place too btw. I did not play RDR or RDR2 up until a few months back. My friend moved and unearthed his Xbox 360 and all his games. Told me I could take it home and play around with it for awhile if I wanted. Ended up starting RDR and getting hooked on it. Beat the game pretty fast and wanted more from it. The soundtrack alone was just beautiful. So I was set to buy RDR2 when I realized, it is not out for PC. Low and behold, I learned just last week it will be coming out on PC next month! Very excited for it. If you are wondering, I have not owned a gaming console since the first Wii. I didn't buy a PS3 or PS4, nor a Xbox360 or Xbox One. I just have not been into console gaming in a long time and prefer to play on my PC. Now that I have kids, it is easier to just hide away in the office. My wife and I will be getting a Switch for our two boys now that they are older for Christmas this year so who knows, maybe I will be back on consoles in time for the PS5. Time will tell. I am typing too much... hahah I look forward to chatting with you all and finding some more PC players for RDR2!

  8. PHILIP CARLIER: SECLUDED SWAMP-DWELLER REQUESTED DEAD OR ALIVEPLUS TERRIFYING NEW MASKS, CLUB XP BONUSES AND MORE Law offices across the West have requested the immediate apprehension of Philip Carlier, wanted for embezzlement and the murder of a fellow employee of the Lemoyne Trading Company. Since the killing two years ago, Carlier has lived alone, on the fringes, in the swamps of Lagras. It is said that this isolation, combined with a taste for dissociative chemicals, has twisted the middle-aged murderer's mind. This Legendary Bounty is considered extremely volatile and should only be approached by the most resolute of bounty hunters. Pick up Philip Carlier's wanted poster at any sheriff's office to begin the pursuit and revisit the Bounty Board again after a brief period to replay the mission at an increased difficulty. With All Hallows' Eve fast approaching, Madam Nazar has obtained a smattering of masks that are sure to delight and terrify in equal measure. For a limited time only, she is offering masks for those indulging in the season - ranging from the horrifying Freak Mask to the macabre Swine Mask. Additionally, players who are in any of the three Specialist Roles will get a free mask. Licensed Bounty Hunters will receive an exclusive variant of the Creature Mask; Traders will receive an exclusive Swine Mask; while Collectors receive an exclusive Masquerade Mask -- all free of charge. Please allow 24 hours from logging into Red Dead Online for the masks to appear in your Wardrobe. Meanwhile, Outlaw Pass holders who have hit Club Rank 10 will get an exclusive variation of the Freak Mask while Club Rank 20 Outlaw Pass holders get this plus an exclusive variation of The Horror Mask. And Red Dead Online players who jump into GTA Online any time before December 12 can still unlock a unique colorway of the Slaughter Mask, sure to strike fear into even the sturdiest of hearts. And for the competitive; when the going gets tough, the tough get resourceful. This week's featured Free Aim Series is Make It Count, a true test of skill: using nothing but a Bow and Arrow or Throwing Knives to fight off opponents in a gradually shrinking arena until just one player is left standing. Good luck and godspeed. Collectors looking to cash in on Madam Nazar’s Weekly Collectible List can deliver the Cheaters Suit. Track down the Queen of Wands, King of Cups and Ace of Pentacles, then sell (or mail via the Post Office) as a full set before October 29th for your reward. 10. I use: Quite an Inspiration / Live for the Fight / Eye for an Eye / The Unblinking Eye As long as I'm getting head shots while using dead eye, I'm always having full dead eye circle, since Eye for an Eye works while dead eye is active. When I'm shot I turn on dead eye for the health with Quite an Inspiration. I never have to use tonics with this pve build. 2nd option: Quite an Inspiration / Live for the Fight / Eye for an Eye / The gift of Focus. Just started using this, seeing if The gift of Focus contributes to Live for the Fight & Eye for an Eye. Not sure if it does, but it seems like I have full dead eye all the time.

  11. Yeah... I wouldn’t have had a problem with your story at all if it was kept to the confines of the delivery mission. Where you loose me, and in my opinion stray danger close to griefer territory, is when you waited for the mission to be over and started harassing them with explosive ammo.... I don’t really blame them for chasing you across the map and getting all salty. That’s kind of on you for taking the post mission revenge spree...

  12. Been riding with this lot for 6 months now, and I must say this is one of the best online game crews I’ve ever been with. Composed of all sorts of different, interesting personalities, playing with this lot has been filled with laughs, and all sorts of fun memories I wouldn’t give up for anything else. I highly recommend joining this crew not only for how much hard work we all put into helping each other out, but also because we have fun as a family. Join us!! ~Sgt. JT

  13. Just because I understand why someone would take preemptive action against me for being too close to their delivery, etc. doesn't mean I won't defend myself or press forward an attack that I otherwise may not have. This was never about that. It's how we view those who do and in my case, I simply don't take actions like that personally.

  14. That’s perfectly fine by me. Running solo often, I’ve developed more of a shoot first, apologize later attitude, most especially when it comes to trying to accomplish a task that other players can mess with. Its easier for me to keep my wagon than it is to try and take it back. I also understand this mentality, so I get it when someone Shoots me when they’re rolling by with a mission that can be interfered with and I’m in the way. I won’t screw with them after they’re done. I might take it as an invite to try and steal their stuff. But like I said, once it’s over and there is no longer anything on the line, the gun fight is over working o me.

  15. Been riding with these fine people for quite some time now, and I've got nothing to say besides they are the best. for real. Very helpful when it comes to starting up in the game, showing you the ropes and progressing with you in your journey in the world that is Red Dead Online. I've also, never met a group of people that is so willing to invest their time into you. Helping you with whatever needs doing, and even getting to know you on a personal level! I'm proud to call myself a member of the Elite Cavalry, and I hope to see you all becoming a member of our family :).

  18. Well, I prefer it over the active aggressive approach lol. Basically, however it shakes out, for me when the mission is over the killing is over. Once it goes beyond the confines of the event, it becomes pointless again. If someone insists on getting their revenge hits or two, well, so be it. If it become a regular annoyance, I’ll likely just hop servers. I generally prefer to avoid long drawn out pointless gun battles because someone else is butt hurt over being in the wrong place at the wrong time and had to be killed to ensure the mission succeeds in those last moments. I mean, I personally have seen the nice guy ploy, and fallen for it, only to be shot in the back of the head before... so when money is on the line, it’s usually better to be safe than sorry.

Have several cowgirls with us that are meaner than rattlesnakes !! They will run you off I guarantee it ! 😀

  21. You're reading it right. You keep everything on your horse when you FT, now (ahh, the Beta, whatever became of ye?) I never even considered a camp fast travel post until the trader role gave me a reason to go to camp. Now I use it a lot. A LOT!
    1 point
  22. The other option is to hogtie them both, put one on your horse, 'borrow' a horse from the bounty camp, put the other bounty on that one, and ride it back to the jail, with your horse following along behind. In theory, you could then drag a third one in at the same time.

  24. There's one mission where Abigail asks you to take Jack and do something with him. It occurs pretty early at the Horseshoe Overlook camp. It's not a random bit of conversation with her. Just keep doing missions and it will come up. I'd check my guide for when it becomes available, but it's packed away right now.

  25. Player blips (unless you're hostility level is higher than normal) only show up on another player's radar when you are within 150 meters (164 yards). When you see a player on the minimap, they are just seconds away from being able to strike while on horseback. They can also be within sniper range. Anything on your minimap is potentially a real and immediate threat. I'm sorry, but if I'm making a delivery especially one that puts me in Offensive Mode, I'm not taking any chances. My posse / partner will either try to run you off or attack if you're that close. Most people simply run in another direction or give us a wide berth (while galloping away) just as we would in the same situation. When I encounter someone making a delivery or participating in a side mission that invites attacks we never ride toward, never stop near, never ride parallel, never ride in a heading that may intersect with their path, etc. Exceptions for me are in towns or other areas that players gather where I might give people the benefit of the doubt but still keep my guard up. I've been hit by someone in a similar situation before but chalked it up to being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I was off my horse near the road with them heading toward me and couldn't distance myself from them in time. It's no biggie. I would have done the same as it could have appeared as an ambush. The fact is, you don't know for sure if someone is alone or working with others just outside the 150 meter range. You can't see them but they could be on top of you within seconds. When someone is stopped and/or maneuvering slowly, it looks suspect IMO / IME. Just an unfortunate event is all.

  26. Yeah. Annoying as hell. And so cheap. Had a dude with dynamite arrows pulling the same non sense. So I killed his horse with an explosive. I think he was surprised I could target his horse. When he hit the ground, I shot him with an incendiary slug. He pressed charges and left the session. Dude dressed like a KKK member was trolling my camp in defensive the other day. Throwing fire bottles and dynamite like an idiot. I dropped the flag and killed him. I can free aim buddy. Guess some people think that everyone is auto aim dependent in this game. Sorry slim. lol
    1 point
  27. So who was it exactly that was making a delivery? The people that shot you? If that's the case, they may have misinterpreted the timing of your spawn near their delivery as someone suing an exploit rather than just dumb luck. To be honest though, I still don't see that as "griefing" but simply protecting their goods if that's the case. If I saw someone suddenly appear near me while making a delivery I would have done the same thing.

  29. SWAT just began it’s third season a few weeks ago and it’s good. SEAL Team is also really good. They air back to back on either Tuesday or Wednesday nights (I have no TV service right now to confirm which). On the animated side, Bob’s Burgers is a winner in my book.

  30. Holy crap, you’re right. 😳 I don’t know if it was just a gameplay mechanic or not, but John “inherited” all of Arthur’s belongings in the epilogue. Maybe it is Arthur’s jacket that John had packed away and Jack decided to use after finding it?

  31. Thank you for this @Aval0n! I do everything possible to protect Sam (my horse) as well. What you said emphasizes part of the point I was trying to make. I have had Sam since very close to the start of RDO since he was part of the PS4 Ultimate Edition package (Black Chestnut Thoroughbred: 9 Speed / 7 Acceleration with current saddle & stirrups) . As a solo player, Sam & I have experienced pretty much everything together so far. It is amazing how attached you become with your online companion! As a result I have found no need or desire up to this point to have another horse. Although, I do plan to purchase a Breton if and when I can ever reach lvl 20 Bounty Hunter. IMO RockStar should impose SERIOUS penalties on anyone that deliberately kills another players horse. After all in the REAL Old West, the punishment was hanging for a horse thief! Perhaps a public hanging and then a "sentence" to griefer only servers until they learn their lesson would be in order! Taking it a step further, the horse killer should have to pay the owner of the horse they killed at least double the current online cost of the horse in RDO$ as restitution. They can earn the RDO$ while they are learning their lesson on the griefer only servers! To me it seems like many if not most griefers play RDO as though it were another version of GTAO or Fortnite. For those who want that experience in RDO let 'em have at it on servers dedicated to that type of game play!

  32. That sounds good to me, If you do get the game, it would be helpful if you posted some screen shots, and examples of the game running, like max out the settings, then ride into Valentine or St Denis and make a short video, see if you can keep 60 fps in a populated area at max settings. It will take a little while to figure out what the cut off is for systems to be able to run the game at max 4k settings, with the shading and lighting effects on and maintain the 60 fps but that information would be very useful to the community.

  33. I'm curious about that too. I booted up GTAV on PC to see how they handled it. I'm playing the standard version. With no mods. If you are using Keyboard + Mouse, then there isn't any auto-aim. If you are using a gamepad (controller), then there can be assisted aim. There are 4 choices; 1 - Free Aim 2 - Free Aim - Assisted 3 - Assisted Aim - Partial 4 - Assisted Aim - Full <--- this seems to work like RD2 does on the PS4 with controller. If your target is in your front arc, then hitting L2 will snap your aim over the body. Flicking the controller slightly up, will have it aiming at the head. Assisted Aim - Full is also called lock on mode. You also get a warning message that when you play online, it will match you with other players that have this enabled. Furthermore, you may be at a disadvantage against other players if you are using K+M with this mode enabled.

  34. I do not think that getting attacked during a trade delivery is the same as griefing, unless attacks are continued after the mission is over.
    1 point
  35. Exactly, I spawned in Van Horn, fast traveled to Tumbleweed, then while looking for MAdam Nazar on the map saw them, so I went there while collecting in Rhodes to see what was up, I was in a solo lobby for over 8 hours when I saw them.
    1 point
  36. Well, saying the mechanic is broken vs. simply not agreeing with how it works or not liking it is a different thing. Either way, the point was that folks are not "forced" into choosing long distance deliveries which are far riskier especially when riding solo like the OP is. It's obvious R* intended people to posse up for these missions. ....and when you do, it makes the job much easier as some will simply not take the risk engaging with you. ...and yeah, even short distance deliveries could have the potential for risk but far less so as you also get the advantage of being able to use defensive mode and are not marked. You just need to ride straight in and drop it off. If there are other potentially hostile players in the area, hopefully you can just make a beeline for the zone and beat them to it.

  37. First off yes it is worth it. Your posse can use it. I love it, one of the best things I ever bought in game, saves me tons of time. I enjoy being out doing multiple things, realize I have a full load so Ill drop in camp from any fast travel post, drop off everything, energize my guy, then hit the post to go right back to where I left off, plus many other examples of ways I use it. Money is really flowing in this game once you get the collector role, even the trader, so my advice is yes, buy it as soon as you can.

  38. Gotta watch those rode side attractions. Someone could have dynamite packed around the pelt with a sniper fixed on it. What a blast eh?
    1 point
  39. Approach with caution. I recently saw a pelt just lying around on the ground and slowly rode towards it (I knew this was too good to be true but I wanted to see what happened) and immediately some player rode up to me and shot my horse so that I fell off, and then he tried to shoot me. I had changed sessions by then already tho, so joke was on him, but yeah. Be cautious.
