Hey partner ! There are indeed problems with the camp not beeing set or beeing packed by cripps without a reason. I have to say that after this weeks update the camp situation is better than it was but problems still occure. The best way to check where;s your camp is simply looking at the map zoomed out or getting to a fast travel point in any town. If the camp is set there will be an option to go to it (it wont be greyed out) - it will be on the bottom of the list of possible locations to go to. If you cant go to your camp it means that it is not set. You found out how to set up a camp. Now notice that some locations that you want to set the camp in will be highly populated and a lot of campsites will be placed there already. In this case there will be problem to set the camp simply bcoz there is no room for it. TZhose locations will be for example The Hearlands, bayu nwa. Cumberland forest. I would suggest setting the camp in less popular area (you can always fast travel to the hunting ground you want and return with goods to your camp. The pelts and carcasses will not deteriorate via fast trvel like it did in the past. When camp still refuses to set i simply change location via fast travel to a distant zone ant try setting up again. If still doesnt work i hard reset the game and repeat the process. Sometimes its a pain and takes many tries but as i mentioned above since last update its better. Hope this will help in some way.2 points

I looked up ps4 controller buttons. I think LB (on Xbox) is L1 for (ps4) & RB is R1. Everyone starts with the cattlemen revolver, you should be able to test it with that.1 point

Opps, I misunderstood. I found this response on R* support page. https://support.rockstargames.com/articles/360035474074/Playing-games-offline-from-the-Rockstar-Games-Launcher1 point

Fine, that's me sold - now the only choice is black or white (I have a black thoroughbred and am quite attached to him!). Thank you for pushing me over the edge.1 point

It`s been bad for a bit now even worse if you`re a Trader. When mine disappears i just keep trying until i can get it back. Most times i`ll do other things like hunting or doing other missions while i keep trying to get it set back up. I usually get it back after doing a mission or 2 while trying. Believe me as a Trader role it downright sucks when it goes missing.1 point

I've had pretty good luck setting up my camp through the wheel instead of the left on the D pad way. Give it a try.1 point

Just to point out, you can't actually store anything at camp. Increased storage comes from different satchels you can craft at Pearson's wagon when you have the needed materials. I'd sell that legendary pelt to the trapper ASAP before you get killed and lose it, otherwise you could miss out on a good payout.1 point

ok. i'll try to keep the pelt on my horse until i find out how to store stuff on camp. thanks.1 point

The easiest way I can explain online is this: It is a wonderful time machine that takes you back to the old west where you can basically "play life" how you want. If you want to be a criminal, go for it. If you want to be a good guy who abides by the law, cheers to that. You can role-play as light or as hard as you want to. Gangs are encouraged as you are never 100% safe, just like in the real life old west. You want to have people who will have your back.1 point

Play the game a bit more. You will end up unlocking options for more storage. If I say anything it might spoil things for you. Just trust me, you will know when you have more storage options. As for the message, you will be limited according to individual items. Like you can carry 4 of something, 8 of something else. It all depends on what the item is and how much room it would realistically take up.1 point

I just wanted to say to all new players who have waited so patiently for RDR2 on PC - Welcome to an absolutely amazing adventure. I am new to gaming, after only starting a couple of short years ago and RDR2 was one of the best purchases I have made. I have been at it now for a year and it is the only game that I pick up and play every single day. My advice is simple and with no spoilers. Play story mode first .. take your time and EXPLORE EVERYTHING. The real beauty in this game is in the detail. #OutlawsForLife1 point

It is to be expected. When devs make a game for consoles, they only have to consider two machines, sometimes 3. With computers, they have a lot to consider because there are so many different components to computers. It sucks but hopefully all the issues will be handled and fixed by the end of the week.1 point

It does that. But you should notice in your satchel under the tonic tab, that you can carry 30 potent tonics & 20 special tonics. Instead of the normal 20 potent & 10 special. For the gun spins to see if that’s working. Have your revolvers in your hand / double click the LB (on Xbox) & hold RB, this will prompt the gun spinning tricks menu you’ve learned so far & hit the corresponding button to do the tricks.1 point

At a ripening age of 47yrs old this is my first real online game . Loved the story (got it for Christmas). Am really enjoying the online side (tried CoD WW2 - but did not like it at all). Just wish i could find some like minded people to join the posse. I am not brilliant at this game, i still dont know what my favourite settings are. But really love the content online and revel in the prospect of running into someone in game, not knowing if they are going to shoot you or wave at you. Yes there are players out there who like to shoot at you for whatever reason. But with a bit of practise I am sure revenge will be sweet. Its never too late to teach an old dog new tricks. I do like fishing on the Dakota!1 point

I have a Kladruber as well and he's the most patient horse and I love taking him on a little tour around the map when I do my collector stuff, but he's no match for the Arabian when it comes to speed and agility. Still tho, it's not a bad horse to buy at all. The Black Arabian has a few quirks but honestly, I've spent a lot of time with mine now and he hardly ever bucks me or runs off scared. He's a good little horse. (He IS smaller than other horses, not gonna lie, but hey, not every horse can be a Shire. lol) Just be patient with yours if you decide to buy one - they do really achieve their best and most reliable behavior when fully bonded.1 point

Like @SimonTemplar I never got into online gaming until about 14 months ago. My grandsons got a PS4 Pro and I decided to get one to play online with them AND help their mother screen game titles for the boys to play. I got hooked on the very idea of Red Dead Redemption 2 before it launched when checking out games for the boys. I have been playing (almost 100% solo) since launch and enjoy it tremendously! The new roles have pumped new life in the game for me so I play a bit more now since they launched. I'm 65yo so I can attest to the fact old guys can get lots of enjoyment from this great online experience either solo or with friends. Hmmmm ... can anyone beat 65yo ... or am I the oldest one here? 😎1 point

....ahhhh. Though he was talking about the topic of long distance deliveries. That was my understanding as well. ....which again is part of the design.1 point

Same. I'm not much of a Parleyer, myself, but in Pluck's situation, (a lvl 4 being griefed by 3 x 150+s for 1.5 hours) I'd have thought the option would have come up, and I might have been inclined to deploy it, by then. I've never actually resorted to changing servers yet, but that would be the other option. Or accept an invite to a freeroam event, for that matter. The point being that you don't just need to spend 1.5 hours being murdered - there are multiple ways to get out of the situation, if you want. I personally haven't got to the point yet of it not being fun - if the going gets tough, load up the explosive rounds and dynamite arrows, and at least take 'em down with you.1 point

It went good. Made a lot of progress. My character is still new so I want to rank up and build up my in game money before RockStar games comes out with a big update.1 point

Yeah I agree, think it would be better if the search area was bigger & more spots. But this is the problem with all the free-roam event that are like this. Wild Animal Kill Event, everyone is a small area trying to shoot the same animals. Any of the 3 Fishing Challenge Event. 20 plus players in a small fishing area, trying to catch the same fish. It would be better if the whole state / region was available for searching.1 point

It's the Xbox Wireless Controller. Though it's connected with a usb cable. It works fine for me with other games; DarkSouls, Surge, etc. Though I use K+M for FPS games. I personally like the PS4 controller better. It feels a tad bit smaller. And it's easier for me to use the bumper buttons on the PS4 Controller, than the XBox controller. But I think that's from the many hours playing games on the PS4. I have tried using the PS4 controller on the PC. That works. Though the rumble function might not work. BUT, it gets confusing for me to use when all the in game help, and buttons refer to Xbox buttons (A,B,X,Y) while I'm looking at the PS4's buttons (Sqaure, Triangle, Circle, X). Which is horrible for me when I'm learning to play something. So I got a XBOX controller to help with that. I feel old.1 point

Biggest thing people fail to grasp is that what you consider fun may not necessarily be fun for someone else. There are many types of players in free roam and the different play styles make it fun. Some players just want to hunt , fish or whatever. Fine. Map is big enough were you can do that if you want. Hell, you are lucky to see another player for hours sometimes. Some players just want to watch the world burn and get enjoyment out of creating chaos. I'm fine with this also. Than you have players like myself who get enjoyment out of hunting the Devil's Rejects in addition to missions showdown, etc. In a weird way, the wolves hunt the sheep and the sheepdogs hunt the wolves. I think it balances out well. The new bounty system does hurt the sheepdogs though. That is the one thing I think is BS. I shouldn't get a bounty for helping out 2 low levels from a couple of bullies. I'm not going to quote history or anything like that . It isn't needed. I think R* is trying to create a world in RDR where anything can happen. They are just trying to find the perfect balance between sheep, wolves and sheepdogs. But I feel you need to have all these players in the same lobby to make the game enjoyable for all.1 point

@lumper, First, it's not my board. I am here to simply to help moderate it, assist the community, etc. Part of that is keeping things tidy in this forum. This thread that I merged yours with has been discussing all aspects on the subject. To be quite frank, I simply didn't see the need to have several threads on essentially the same topic that result in the same points being made and develop into the same rehashed arguments or "rants". It disappoints me that you think I am making decisions here "willy nilly" or that I would intentionally move a thread here to "kill it". That is certainly not how I operate and not what I am trying to do with your input. .....and I am definitely not trying to stifle your ideas / contributions. The reason this thread is several pages long is that it is far from dead. It's still quite active with people responding to much of the input that is given. So, there you have it. I would hope my explanation is good enough to show you I had no bad intentions through my actions.1 point
