Right now the amounts of frustration have surpassed every tiny idea of fun in this game as i see on twitter, forums etc. I'm so very glad i'm logging for about 5-10 mins maximum just for a few challenges every day and saving myself from this. Seriously rockstar should be ashamed of this monstrosity. I tried to support them a lot in the past knowing that it's still "early" for fixes and stuff by encouraging people to open tickets, trying to put suggestions, bug reports and all these cute things but they're clowns and i see the same repeating story as red dead 1 multiplayer of 2012. Just sad.2 points

.......it's been a sticky since Sept and the owner also created this Troubleshooting forum around that same time IIRC at the request of another mod. It was a bear having to wade through all of the threads, move them over here, consolidate hot topics, etc. but I think it was worth it.2 points

A tip with regards to this: try driving in "aim mode." Basically, start driving and then aim down your weapon and keep aiming (for PC that means holding down the right mouse button.) When you do that, the horses take control of the wagon and follow the route, slowing down for sharp turns or water crossings etc. No more bottles lost due to hitting a bump in the road too fast since I started doing that.2 points

Roles.. I have access to all of them and here's my take when working with a few mates to help with deliveries etc.. MOONSHINER Takes an age to get 1 run ready by doing 2 missions to get the price down to $10 then when you actually make a 'short' delivery that isn't most of the time, the slightest bump or gunshot and you lose 1 bottle - that's 40% of your money gone. Still waiting for the upgrade to the Copper Still, but for now it's soul destroying. TRADER As I make more money then Posse members when we do the delivery I'm the only one that stocks Cripps up with Pelts and carcasses, so while they are spending 30 minutes cashing for $50 at the butcher I'm spending 2 hours stocking Cripps up with enough to bang out a delivery. The trader glitches out more than the others and I've lost about 3 of 8 deliveries due to the yellow area disappearing, the mission yellow line not starting etc... Between Cripps and Maggie that's 30 Gold I'm never going to see again. COLLECTOR Could do with some tips on how to make some quick bucks with this, I have the Metal Detector and Enhanced Binoculars... just handed in 4 collections after weeks of play so I have made some money, but still everything is such a grind. I have 60 gold which if I could visit a bank and cash in for dollars that would make life a little easier. ~Boot1 point

Heading back to my camp in Great Plains with Cougar on the horse and dragging a 3 star buck only to find Cripps has moved the camp to Tumble-fecking-weed. What's his problem, and how do I sic the dog on him when he starts bitching? Another interesting glitch, I logged in using 'Spawn at Camp' and when I appeared there was no camp, just another player stood in front of me who had obviously just got back from a resource run and dropped it on the floor and his camp wasn't there anymore now either. I just did a little jig and logged out. Poor bloke.1 point

Is there any way to avoid accidentally accepting, or quitting, dishonorable missions? I'm not talking only about missions which reduce my in-game honor, but any mission which requires me to do ethically unsound things. By ethically unsound, I mean attacking innocents or committing crimes; I have no problem with slaughtering bandits and gang members, but I don't want to kill stagecoach guards so I can kidnap some dude at the behest of a shady low-life. Today was my second day of playing the online version of the game after finishing the single-player game, and I was trying to locate strangers in need of assistance. By assistance, I mean help rescuing a loved one from kidnappers, recovering stolen property, putting down a gang of murderous thugs, etc. I tried four different Stranger icons. Two of them gave me a warning, in the form of a red "Dishonor" icon, which allowed me to avoid the mission and just walk away. Two others didn't give me such a choice, just threw me into a cut scene where my character nodded agreement at performing the heinous mission. Both times, I had to just wait around until the mission timer ran out, which wasted quite a bit of my time. It would be nice to know which Stranger icons link to shady missions before traveling to them, or at least to have the opportunity, after hearing what the mission is, to decline it. Or at the very, very least, allow me to quit the mission without just sitting around with my thumb up my ass for 10-15 minutes.1 point

Just starting playing to check itout as well. Dont care about discounts. Just fixing bugs, Animals etc.1 point

I think the animal spawns and camp issues are going to be something that would (could) be addressed on their end without the need to feed a hotfix or patch to us. Problem is that they rarely mention fixes like this and folks simply notice changes. I'm not sure I've ever seen patch notes for fixes they take care of on their end either now that I think of it. Either way, the Twitter comments for this update included literally hundreds of likes for the many comments about addressing animal spawns. I would suggest folks like some of those comments too or perhaps add one of their own. R* does see this stuff and maybe they'll finally say something about it and/or get the fix in place sooner rather than later:1 point
-
I was thinking and suggested to R* that maybe until they can find a fix to the server issues that are preventing animal spawns in most sessions they coudl create a new mode. Free Roam Hunting mode. In this mode players can join for 48 in game hours to hunt or do anything they want to do in a server capped at 12 players. After 48 in game hours they woudl be pushed back into a public server, giving others a chance to join and hunt. Then once you have participated in this you have to wait 72 in game hours minimum to re-join a hunting session so players are constantly revolving in and out of these servers playing this mode. I dont know, I am just desperate to think of anything that can help with this fundamental problem with the game. I can take many of the issues we suffer with, but no animals is where I am at a loss. I just have no desire to tun the game on when I know there are no animals to hunt. It is boring, dead and sterile. Making suggestions often doesnt help, but who knows, maybe if an idea gets some traction, is reasonable in its implementation and servers the community they would consider it? I was really hoping today was the day we got the ps4 exclusive content that came out last month but I forgot we have one more week to go, so the little thing I was looking forward too is still a week off, that is another week of struggling to do daily challenges, run trader deliveries, and anything else that the game currently is void of, dynamic events are down, treasure maps are down, animal spawns are extremely limited, etc.. I'm a dedicated player, I play every single day despite all the issues, I maintain a daily challenge streak to acquire gold in preparation for the next update that requires role purchases and other items to be paid for with gold. I try to find the good, I have defended R* and this game since launch each time there is an issue and usually R* gets to it and makes a fix or an adjustment or tweak to the game to make improvements, they just dont communicate well with us, or tell us what they are working on as it happens which leads to tons of speculation and negative experiences for people waiting for these fixes to come in. I still love the game, I believe Rockstar is aware and is working on the game, BUT we just dont know what they are trying to do or why it is taking this long or what obstacles they are running into and this information would go a long way in helping some of us remain patient. If you dont know you can use their feedback and bug reporting forms still to report issues and if you are playing RDR2 online and having ANY of these issues you really should take a minute to do this, the more they hear from us the more they pay attention to things, if people arent reporting the issues and complaining when things are broken they arent necessarily going to focus more attention in to fixing these things, so please, if you have an issue with the game, let them know, tell them what you are seeing, and what is wrong. https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadonline/feedback?redirect_lang=en_us If you already have done this, do it again, once a week take stock, is the game fixed? if not let them know, let them know you enjoy the game and are hanging around waiting for them to fix what is broke, but woudl appreciate some news on the matter, maybe if more people got involved in reporting things maybe would get more attention? When this game is running properly it is amazing and so much fun, the world comes alive and it is a joy to bee a part of, when you have seen the game run this way and then you are stuck with the way the game is currently running, it is just depressing, and it gets more frustrating every week when nothing seems to get fixed and you cant get a word from R* about what they are working toward regarding these issues. I hope they do get it sorted out sooner than later, I love what they created and understand how much of an undertaking all this was, and I Respect how they went about it, I just want to see this game I love get fixed so we can all enjoy it the way it was meant to be. It cant hurt1 point

Did R* fix animal spawns and camp spawns? I haven't been online to check yet. But since that is the two biggest game breaking issues at the moment and has been for a long time. You would think that would be the top priority in terms of 'updates' . Id rather their update say. "WE FIXED ANIMALS.. WE FIXED CAMPS" ...And another 'featured' free aim game mode. Why does R* treat us like unwanted bastard step children. Id like some 'featured' free aim co-op missions. And would love me some 'featured' free aim free roam please.1 point

No problem. I get notifications from Twitter feeds I subscribe to and just post up news when I see it from R* about RDO / RDR2.1 point

I just ignore stuff like this. People been saying since 2016 Trump was going to start WW3. They first said it would happen by the end of 2017, then by the end of 2018, then by the end of 2019... Here we are in 2020 and the closest thing he has done to starting a war is a fraction of what Bush and Obama did. It is hilarious to me how people forget how much Obama and Bush loved war and how much crap they did to other countries.1 point

On the stealing wagons and/or kidnapping... I believe the majority of those types of missions can be done with fists and lasso if you want to play an honourable outlaw type... though in some cases like the pig farmers your still likely accessory to murder (or something more vile)...1 point

I like to lasso him, release him, then lasso him again.😁1 point

In GTA V, I am lvl 393 with over 190 million R* dollars earned, in RDR2 I am lvl 168 with about 30k of R* dollars earned. Not going to sugar coated it, I play games online daily but I don't smoke cigarettes or snort coke or other nasty stuff so I figure its a benign addiction. The games that I continue to play are ones that change constantly and challenge me, GTA V and RDR2 are my main ones. Those games have strong elements of randomness, you never know what will happen when you go online. Some days there are a ton of asshat griefers making everyone's lives miserable, some days everything is as smooth as silk and there is a feeling of accomplishment. For the most part, I play co-op missions, those are the ones that are random, no two are the same. That is what brings me back to the game not the trinkets, baubles or trophies but not all players are the same, some players need those things. The problem I think is that in GTA V there were a ton of missions/races/heists at the start but in RDR2 there is a limited number. GTA V benefited from a long developmental history, previous incarnations of the game provided a framework. There doesn't seem to be the same depth of game development with RDR2 and I am not sure there ever will be due to the fact that the PS5 will take up a chunk of R*'s time. It wasn't until GTA V introduced heist missions that the game really took off, RDR2 has introduced roles such as trader, collector, bounty hunter and now moonshiner in an attempt to provide interest. What it comes down to is personality, some people work to accumulate things and are disappointed when there is nothing left to accumulate, some people work and stay in the moment and enjoy the the journey, its that simple, a new hat/clothes/gun won't solve the problem but it would be nice.1 point

I'm not so much worried about my honor rating, although I admit I do like to see it maxed out. For me, it's just annoying to have to do a mission for some low-life criminal scum. Like the apparently powerful, well-connected, belligerent jerk who strutted and boasted and threatened me while giving me the mission. Or the creepy incestuous brother and sister pig farmers who I remember all too well from the single-player game; I didn't realize where I was until I'd walked in and was forced to accept their mission to kidnap and return to them a person I can only assume was a victim they'd abducted and who had managed to escape. Eww. I also discovered, to my great disappointment, that I couldn't kill them.1 point

Moonshiner: Not a big money maker. Just kind of something that works in the background for some occasional cash, and some drunk fun with posse mates. All you really have to do is pick a few herbs, order some canned peaches. I usually just order mash, bringing my profit to $176, but not too bad for 48 minutes. Occasionally I run bootleg missions while waiting for Cripps to produce goods. I can run 3 shine deliveries while Cripps makes a large wagon bringing it to $528 in 3 hours. Trader: 3.3 hours to produce a large wagon for $625. It will take a lot longer than 3 hours hunting/butcher to make that kind of cash, and YOU are working that whole time instead of Cripps. Filling trader materials: once you exploit cougar spawns you only need about 40 minutes of shooting cougars to fill your materials bar twice. So In 3 hours I spend 40 minutes hunting, and almost 2.25 hours free to do shine, collect, bootleg, or bounty hunt (for gold). Once you get a system, it'll all work out. I played since beta days. I was amazed when I had $2000. After roles came out, I own everything (except all clothes) in the game, maxed cards, full stables, and am sitting on 30k of cash.1 point

When you purchase at the Gun Smith it just loads your weapons to the maximum they can hold. When you purchase from the journal it will be sent to your camp. So you can buy 999 ammo form the journal and just reload every time you are back at your camp.1 point

Your Horse is your Savior. After doing a mission that you lose honor, just pat your horse for a bit and take it for a walk, you'll soon be back up to full 'goody two shoes' level.1 point

Story mode may be a little different. It's been so long that I hi honestly don't remember. In RDO (online) it works by seeing clerk at a post office and using action shown. On PS4 it's L2 IIRC and then it let's you cycle through everything that you have bought via the catalogue, awarded, etc.1 point
-
IMO, don't even bother with any of the stranger missions good or bad. They are just not profitable enough to be worth your time. You'll gain far more money and xp by doing all of the different roles, bounty hunter, trader, collector and moonshiner. I think bounty hunter would be a perfect fit for you.1 point
-
Hector, Bonnie, Alden, Hamish, Angus, Sherrif Freeman, Thomas, the Adlers, Angus, Trelawney, will give honorable missions. Joe, the boy, Shakey, James Langton, Anthony Foreman, Flaco Hernandez, Sean, Mama Watson, Black Belle, the Aberdeens, will all give you dishonorable missions. Now in some of these "dishonorable" missions you will be going after rival gangs. So you're not always killing Innocents, but after you do a few you'll know which ones to accept. If you accept one by mistake you can't cancel it. Like you said, wait it out. Go hunting, (if there's any animals) Or find a way to fail it, if possible. Last option. Go to the online menu and reload into camp. It may take a while, but less time than waiting out a 15 minute timer.1 point

I think the next war is already happening and it deals with information. Think of all the fake news, hidden truths, and blatant lies by the government and the media. Epstein is a prime example of them lying to our faces and people not caring enough to do anything about it. As sick as he was, he was going to be used as a weapon against the media and against the government and they killed him. Iran is nothing to worry about. What people should be worried about is the manipulation, corruption of power, and lies upon lies we are fed every day.1 point

100% you'll reap what you sow and the U.S. never forgets who saut to do us harm. Worried? Of what Iran?? There desert tactics and training mean nothing to unmanned drones. This isn't the 50s ! We don't need boots on the ground anymore.1 point

A scene in every western movie ever made: The camera slowly pans back from an overhead view. There is man laying in bed motionless, his body riddled with bullet holes and barely clinging to sweet life. Days pass into night in a endless cycle as a lovely woman carefully wipes his forehead with a wet rag and silently prays at his bedside. Finally a spark of light appears from his eyes and he slowly raises from the bed. Yes.....he is a broken man as he struggles to swallow spoonful of soup, knowing that his antagonists will soon return to finish the job they started. Scene: A row of bottles and empty cans line the top rail of an old wooden fence, Gunshots ring out! But the scene remains static until we see a bottle explode. The camera pans back to the rancher. His left arm is cradled in a sling but his right hand firmly grasps his pistol as smoke curls from it's barrel. His aim is slow and erratic at first, but we then see a multitude of rusted cans, suspended in midair, with bullet holes in their centers. The bad guys return, he shoots the guns out of the hands of the sidekicks and plants a shot in the forehead of their leader. If his wife had returned those bottle and cans to the recycling center the week previously......?1 point

Maybe not for ‘honour’. But it wasn’t that long ago when we still had independent stores of various types. The kind where the guy behind the cash register also owned the place and knew all the regular customers by name... If you had a decent reputation at a place like this you could do things like ask him to hold your cheque until Friday. Or maybe he’d toss in something extra just because, or not worry when you came up $10 short for the bill... I’m thinking back in the RDR2 times this was even more a thing.1 point

My Arthur always rinsed his cans and put them in the recycling bin. Your Arthur was probably raised by the Murfree Brood and fed plastic straws to baby turtles just for fun. 🤨1 point
