The game lets you put animals, pelts on other peoples horses and also bodies. I had a troll who was particularly annoying ... So I followed him to Valentine, I quietly stabbed someone and put the body on his horse while he was in the gunsmith. I then shot a few rounds in the air to get people to notice the area. He came out to find himself wanted for murder, tons of witnesses and a full on assault by the law.4 points

One rumor is Mexico. Missions for New Austin. Basic filler for the voids. New vanity items. Faster horses. Faster Horses with big guns. Faster horses with big guns and armor plating Wagons, with big guns. Faster Wagons with big guns. Faster Wagons with big guns and armor plating. Different PvP modes Server separation between PvEvP mode and the PvE Last but not least, some campaign additions for those who want to continue the story. Like Undead Nightmare did for the original and maybe some extension to the original story.2 points

I would say it's a little bit of everything. Pure speculation here. They're the type to abuse exploits and glitches while calling it "meta" (dumb word) because, "if it was cheating it wouldn't be in the game." Anyone who gets the better of them is a "tryhard" and anyone who doesn't is a "noob". Terms they use way too often. They're convinced they're on the noble end of the argument. Mostly narcissists who can't tell the difference. Social media is life. All about likes and views.2 points

So I shot at and thought I hit an animal, walk up to it laying there. It an opossum and as I got closer it jumped up and ran away! What?? The level of detail is crazy. I am galloping along heading to St Denise. A laymoyne raider stops me to collect a toll. Carriers on about how riding the roads aren’t free....so I shot him in the head. I look down at my phone and I hear Arthur say, “guess you told me”...I died laughing.... I love this game!2 points

I encountered a couple of griefers last night whose avatars were ghosted out (like PVP respawn) for about a minute - I couldn't shoot them (they couldn't shoot me either), but when I gave up and walked away they 'materialized' and shot me in the back? Was this just a very fortunate glitch for them, or some exploit? Anyone had anything similar? First time anything like this has happened to me.1 point

An official statement has been made by R* regarding questions by players about potential online progression resets either during or at the end of Beta. The Red Dead Online official Beta Status Update can be read here in it's entirety, but I've chosen to sticky the thread and post the relevant portion below to provide as much clarity as possible. From the release (emphasis mine): December 4th, 2018 Update: We appreciate all the continued feedback we are receiving on the Red Dead Online Beta. For players concerned about the potential for progress and stat resets, we currently do not have any plans to reset them as part of the Beta’s rollout. We are currently still working on game stability and economy balancing for an update that we hope to release later this week. Please stay tuned for more news to come. This is in no way a guarantee as to whether or not R* will reset online progression at the end of Beta--the statement is carefully worded to only cover the Beta's rollout, and NOT the "Gold" or "Live" version of the Red Dead Online experience. I would caution each and every user to take this information under advisement, but to date, I would note that R* has not officially stated a position on the intent for the changeover from Beta to full release. The only thing the statement clarifies is the intent to avoid a progression wipe during the lifespan of the beta. Once the beta has concluded, we do not know what the current intent of R* is regarding player progression.1 point

Same thing happened here, a guy did this near a train track, no vendor near him... might be the signpost thing, I need to check if there was a fast travel there. I stood there for 2 or 3 minutes beating him senseless, the punches were connecting on both of us but no damage, when I rode away he became normal again, I was aware he could pull some coward bullsh*t and shot him first as soon as he pointed the gun.1 point

I found a few places that have no law in the area and will allow you to do and kill whatever you want, whoever you want without any form of bounty or wanted level. I’ve only gotten two so far: Armadillo Van Horn Trading Post(locals will get upset though and will try to kill you) If you know of any more places that has civilization in it and no law, please say so in the comments below. Happy killing!1 point

I think at the moment people are looking at quick fixes to trolling, but in more of knee jerk reaction type of fix. And not thinking it all the way through. I've seen a TON of bad ideas.. Some even getting floated around by popular gaming websites/youtube channels. All of which, when i read what they ask for. I can easily flip it around and use it against players. Kind of like Insurance in GTA O. Insurance/bad sport was added to punish players who destroy your vehicles. Problem was, players would simply jump in vehicles and use it to troll/attack players. And when players being attacked defends themselves and destroys the vehicle, they had to pay money and get bad sports points.1 point

Did it just show up in your available funds? Or did you have to go to the lockbox and/or log out and back in for it to show up? Curious minds want to know.1 point

https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/60735/Red-Dead-Online-Beta-Week-1-Update?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=reddeadonline-week1&utm_content=newswire RED DEAD ONLINE BETA – WEEK 1 UPDATE We want to thank the Red Dead community for playing and sending us tons of valuable feedback during the first full week of the Red Dead Online Beta’s availability. This feedback is crucial to help shape the game as we move forward. Today we are starting to implement the first set of adjustments to the game including changes specifically geared towards creating a more balanced, fun and rewarding overall experience, across all modes and missions. These include: Increasing the cash and gold payments across a number of different activities including Free Roam Missions, Free Roam Events, replays of A Land of Opportunities Missions, Showdown Series modes and more. Reducing the prices of most weapons in the Wheeler, Rawson & Co Catalogue and Gunsmiths. For players that have already purchased weapons at the previous prices, we will automatically deposit the difference to player balances starting today - please look for an alert message the next time you log in to the Red Dead Online Beta to notify you of this change, refunds may take up until December 10th to reach all players. Balancing the values of select pelts, skins and fish as well as horse reviver and pamphlets. Of course our efforts to improve and balance the Red Dead Online Beta will continue. We are conscious of and still evaluating an assortment of further adjustments based on feedback from the community. We are currently working on fixes for some persistent bugs that are causing some players to be kicked from sessions, and we aim to have fixes for these live next week. We will also continue to review all the feedback and suggestions so please keep them coming to reddeadonline.com/feedback. As an added thank you for playing and helping us through the beta period, we're also awarding everyone that joined in to play the Red Dead Online Beta at any point through midnight PST today with a gift of RDO$250 and 15 Gold Bars. Gifts should start arriving today and will hit all eligible players by Friday, December 14th. Once again, we want to thank everyone for playing the Red Dead Online Beta and sharing their experiences so far with us. There’s still lots more to come so please stay tuned!1 point

If you need someone to tag along when you do, hit me up. Surprisingly enough, the trolling hasn't been that bad in most sessions I'm in lately. It's much better with a team though. .....even with just two people it makes a big difference.1 point

Yeah, I played last night and felt things were much better balanced. I was able to buy my Lancaster for roughly $200 less than it was listed for before (IIRC) and insure my horse for $150 instead of the 5 gold bars it required before. Also made about $150 during my session even with all the screwing around. Much better than before.1 point
-
Thanks. I paid the $4 and the respawn issue (getting the nag instead of my Arabian) seems to have abated. ......at least during last night's session. Also, insurance was now $150 instead of 5 gold bars.1 point

Actually I said.. So when 3 players ride full speed to my exact location with guns out.. I have a reason. The game should not punish players for defending themselves.1 point

Looks like Just Cause 4 os another game with annoying blur but that case is making much more waves than the blur in RDR2.1 point

It's more of a matter of you all ready giving it out to some and not all over such a huge span. I'm all for trying to keep a level playing ground. Roughly 8 days from yesterday would be huge troll time for some.1 point

If true, that's pretty sad:(. But I guess I too have my sad little vices (beer and whiskey mostly).1 point

I find myself drifting further to the dark side as of late too Poggy. Had quite an interesting interaction in the valentine bar a few days ago, I was trying to get into fist fights for one of the challenges so decided to antagonise all the NPCs I could find. After knocking out the entire bar the law descended and I was shot dead but upon returning to the now empty bar, a player strolls in. I stand at the bar downing whiskey while eyeing up my new friend and he decides to follow suit. After downing several whiskeys my new friend gets the message and throws the first punch, what followed was a series of bare knuckle fights to the death. I have to say some of the best fun I've had in game for a while. Who ether you were sir I salute you. I've also made a point of harassing people who kill me unprovoked, killed a guy three times and then parlayed with him. Followed him around for the full 10 minutes then lobbed a Molotov at his horse when it expired. Not gonna lie I enjoyed it.1 point

A varmint rifle is a long range small caliber rifle. Right now I am finishing up a Winchester 1894 made in 1915. Its caliber is 25-35, a smaller .257 bullet that will out range all of its big brothers. 30WCF (or 30-30 Marlin as its called today), 32 Special, 35 Rem, and 38-55. As the bullet diameter gets bigger, the range shortens. The 25-35 will do 200 yards easy, where the 38-55 will do barely 75 yards. The 38-55 will know a deer or bear down easy, where the 25-35 is for smaller sized critters life yotes on down to rabbits. Using your chart above, varmint should be extreme long range. Funny the term varmint load or rifle was not coined until the 1930. So much for history. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Varmint_rifle I think one of these calibers existed in our time period. *note1 See the might .223 listed as a varmint round, same one in the dreaded AR15. Now you know how hyped this really is. *note2 I will make a post that has what I think of each of the firearms in the game. I will be carrying a pair of peace makers (45 colt) a Sharps Buffalo, which should out shoot every rifle listed, and a 22 for small game in the saddle scabbard.1 point

Yeah.... Instead of 5 gold bars the insurance for my Arabian was $150 last night so I bought it. Also, I checked the stable option in the menu as someone mentioned and after paying the $4, my horse recall issue seems to have vanished. ......at least in last night's session.1 point

The changes they made last night, was not "Update" necessary, afaik. They made a system, so they could quickly implement the things, but maybe for a more huge bug fix, like the connection errors and such, the update official will come next week. My guess1 point

I had the exact opposite- met more trolls and rando shooters online last night than at any time previous. Just pure luck with what server you get put in, I guess. I spent more than half my playtime last night dealing with folk who robbed of my horse, shot me for no reason, waved hello then backstabbed me, lasso goons, and someone who tackled me to the ground. Actually, most of those confrontations were quite fun (other than the horse carcass robbery and the weird ghost trolls). Maybe I'm sinking to their level! Or maybe I just enjoy beating down wannabe griefers? Maybe I secretly hop someone kicks something off so I can 'legitimately' get them? Oh dear ... what has happened to me, lol1 point

I disabled UPNP in my router last night... since then i am able to finish missions, and did not get a single connection issue.. Hmm..1 point

PvP is not about sportsmanship, the only thing that matters is the all mighty KILLBOARD. They will kill you any which way they can, hook or crook. One more notch in the handle is all that matters. Back 20 years ago or so, the PvP world was really chivalrous, now dog eat dog. Its not the game, its the young players. I came from 15 years of WWII fighter sims. When pilots did dishonorable things they were publicly shamed. Then WoW came and the killboard became god. As far as I can see, nothing has changed.1 point

I've had the icon not appear, but as long as I could find the chest, was able to get things from it. Crips' icon doesn't appear sometimes, too. There are times where all that shows on the map is the wardrobe and the fire, but the others are there and can be interacted with. Some bugs seem to affect people differently, or they're getting different bugs, not sure. So not sure if anybody is unable to even access the chest when it's not on the map.1 point

Rumor has it gold payout increases when you get to a higher reset count, I can't confirm it yet, got to the 3rd reset now and still getting 0.05... if anyone got it higher and knows about it, feel free to say something ahahaha.1 point

I'm sure they can dress like one, but as for making money from sexual favors, I doubt it's something they even considered, tho brothels would fit perfectly. That'd be an interesting side job, little minigames to give a perfect handjob or whatever the customer asked for.1 point

You trying to be honorable might not be that big of an issue. I eventually maxed out my honor all the way to being maximum honorable recently. Got the trophy for it. The trophy is earned by maximizing it either as honorable or dishonorable. This was around the beginning of Chapter 6. I've mostly been playing the good guy. But occasionally will do bad guy stuff. Especially when I was working on some of the Bandit Challenges. There are also many other random things in game that allow you to raise your honor rating. Unless you are trying to do it by a certain time, I wouldn't worry about it.1 point

I am fine with the holiday season. I like family gatherings. What I don't like is everyone making the day about themselves and fighting over political crap. If that happens again this year, I will just be walking right out the house and going home.1 point

save your horse in the stable, just put him in to save him. Then if you lose him somehow and he doesn't die (horses don't return from the dead) he should be back in that stable. I've had that happen with the legendary arabian. Start a mission and have to drive a wagon, then the horse back at camp was one i caught with the saddle on. Had to ride it to Valentine where i saved the arabian.1 point

The people in the area aren't stupid, if you've committed a crime in that area before, and didn't change your outfit, or wear a bandanna/mask, they know who you are, so the one reporting the crime will turn you in. If you're working on maxing out the white honor, change your clothes often, always wear a mask/bandanna when doing anything that could be reported as a crime.1 point

I´m not a kiddy online gamer. I will play to relax and not work. This is a big mistake in the modern software industie, all games must have a online mode with tons of content, no game comes polished to the market. This is why I like the exlusive titles of sony, no online sh*t. When I will talk with somebody than I do it in the real world and not wth a headset. This is the ****ing twitter facebook generation. I delete all my accounts. This are all big concerns now, and it has nothing with gaming out of the the past. All of the new generation want new game plus content, weekly new content prefer lootboxes and all this other sh*t that comes out with the higher bandwidth of the internet. The magazines prefer this games and push it. The parents sells for the studying kids and the kids play this sh*t at home. I read yesterday on odyssey forum, why the hell no new game plus is out it is to late. All this trolls and flamers set the developpers under pressure and ruining all. They are not interested anymore to fixing graphical issues or anything else in singleplayer mode. Rockstar began with this politics with GTA V. No polishing of the game for the singleplayer content only for the online mode. I´m really done with that company, too bad that other publishers like cd project red do the same way in the future for cyberpunk 2077 THey want only all earn money and empty our wallets and the most of the rich kids buy all this crap. Look to Blizzards overwatch, Fortnite or all this bullsshit. This games are not designed for the older generations.1 point

Some of you are hilarious with the massive hyperbole regarding this. It's over! The game is junk! Unplayable! Give me a break. As for this patch, it seems to have made the softness a bit better in some areas while other areas don't seem to be changed. I do not believe it is placebo and feel if Digital Foundry tests it that they will see it has improved a bit. The main difference seems to be in close to medium foliage and objects as there seems to be more detail and depth. If it's not a ps4 pro change then maybe it is some overall graphical change...maybe they tweaked the DoF in the game. All I know is there is more depth and separation between Arthur and the world and between things like separate trees and it looks better than it did last night when I was playing. As for blur while moving the camera, that seems to mainly be the game running at 30fps and Rockstar throwing in default motion blur....it's probably mainly the game running at 30fps. While I don't doubt it can be tweaked a bit more, some of you seem to think Rockstar should be able to create magic with how this game should look on the PS4 Pro and acting like it should be equivalent to how a top of the line gpu could make it look. Comparing it to how other games that have far less foliage and detail is silly because it's obviously going to be easier to make something be sharper with less objects to render. No other game comes anywhere close to this in terms of foliage and detail so something has to give with the nothing special hardware of the PS4 Pro. I've seen some say the game looks better at 1080p and I don't agree with that at all. Yes, it did seem to be a bit sharper in spots but the draw distance is quite a bit worse (so many low quality textures used at a medium distance that makes it distracting until you get near them) and the jaggies are pretty bad. With the Pro version, the draw distance is much improved with higher quality textures at that medium to far distance. I'll take a bit of added softness over objects 60 feet away object being very low quality and standing out because of how low quality they are.1 point

So is this just a general chat for the game? I mean if that is the case... Let me slip this meme here...1 point
