  1. Hello all, Tired of getting your face blown off while skinning that 3-Star cougar? Are you sick of having to check your map for enemy players while reeling in a 20lb Muskie? If so you are not alone. Luckily...RED_DEADMAN understands your frustration and is here to help. As a rank 110 player, I have enough experience with griefers to know that sometimes...you just need a little extra firepower. That's where I come in. What I offer? I offer my time and my rifle. I will accompany you on your adventures and ensure that hostile players and their crew do not get within a lethal distance of you or your posse. Ensuring the safety of you and your friends during any expeditions(hunting, fishing , stranded missions etc. What does my service cost? Absolutely nothing. (I do however accept tips in the form of animal carcus/pelts added to my horse....but not required). I am in this more for the experience and to meet new players. How does it work? Simply send me a friend request on PSN with a message saying "RDS" (Or basically anything else you want that let's me know you are from the forums). If I am available at that time I will join your online session. I will not join your posse for security reasons, unless you are willing to assume the risk. I will remain in your general vicinity and protect you at all costs unless your safety requires me to leave the area. Leaving you free to focus on enjoying the day. What about chat? I will accept invites to your party but will not utilize a microphone unless your safety requires me to do so...or if you have special instructions during my term of employment. This service is for PS4 players only and intended to be more fun that serious...although everything previously stated is 100% accurate.

  2. Me too buddy....me too. The offhand holster like we have now is for cross-draw. Actually drawing your left firearm with you left hand in the current position isn't really at all practical

  4. I know right? that's when I change my posse name to "is hunting (players name)" so they know they just received my full attention. I imagine what goes through their head when they see my name above my character and is sais..... Just using your name as an example but you get the idea. I change my posse name all the time depending on mood whenever I'm playing solo so I can display info to others. (most probably never notice but some do).

  5. Ive already been doing this in free roam lobbies for sometime now. Ive even been shot at by the player ive been protecting before. Lol

  6. Also, the reason I dont join your posse "for security reasons " is so whenever I DO have to kill someone to defend you, you do not show up as a hostile enemy to the griefers or their posse. A few have asked and I didnt exactly state why.

  7. I would urge you to use the in-game "report" feature. There is one description that covers abusive / racist language. That (I believe) gets reported to Rockstar. I would also encourage you to go to the player's profile (there is an in-game link) so you can block them. .....that takes you to their profile within the PSN. This will also stop any continued harassment outside of the game but if someone is dumb enough to message you using the PSN feature before you are able to block them, then report them to Sony right away. They will see the message as proof of harassment, language, etc. and will take action. Other than that, I would suggest muting everyone except those in your own posse if it's overwhelming.

  8. Totally (and respectfully) disagree. By comparison, the amount of effort needed to make this happen is infinitesimal compared to what they had to do to build RDR2. And that game's so hot right now - and SOOOOO many RDR2 players have never played the rest of John's story (or even know it!) - based on the needed time invested to make it happen vs. the enormous interest, they're guaranteed to make quite a lot more on it than they did on Undead Nightmare. Certainly it wouldn't come close to RDR2 sales, but it would be a grand moneymaker. Of this, I'm ridiculously confident. ALL the tools already exist. It would be silly not to.

  9. I don't have to share the spoils of victory. Like beer. That's two big things, right there. You know you'll never get "The Bro Show" in your posse. I'd sooner trust Micah to cover my back than group with a bunch of Rando Calrissians.

  12. Much rather be able to co-op in the campaign to be honest. ......but yeah, maybe I'd be interested although I don't see them offering a "for purchase" DLC in RDO (only for the campaign if there ever is one). The things they do add to online will likely always be offered to everyone as part of the experience. GB MTXs are what will be driving RDO into the future.

  14. I stop playing when R* disconnects me from their service every fifteen minutes. They can't claim that they care when they design the mechanics of a game to specifically suit the activity. There's a reason traditional MMOs had segregated servers for PvP and PvE, and why now, the undisputed Emperor of MMOs, WoW, has gone to an individual toggle for PvE and PvP status by player, within the same server. PvEvP is a euphemism. A lie. If you can attack another player, it's PvP, period. Adding in a third-party, such as NPCs does nothing to alter the fact that players can actively attack other players. If anything, the true designations should break out to PvP, PvE (with "E" changing from "Environment" to "Everyone" or "Everything"), and "PvN" with the "N" standing for "NPC". It's sloppy, lazy, uninspired design. For my money, the trend towards "PvEvP" games is just as much an indictment against the industry as the blatant copying of the "Battle Royale" phenomenon. If R* really cared about the online portion as much as the single player story mode, they'd devote resources into creating something new or different to set them apart from their peers in the MMO or "Games as a Service" arena. And make no mistake, RDO is being built as a Service.

  15. The rest of the missions can only be completed once your Honor Meter reaches the complete OPPOSITE of what it was for the previous missions. Example: If you were mostly honorable during the 1st several missions then you will need to become DISHONORABLE. After a while, the mission icons will reveal themselves.

  16. Exactly this! - I am getting tired of people having public mic`s on... I almost INSTANYLY "mute all" on the server i am on. I did experience a fun thing though.. While hunting in Armadillo, a guy and proberly 3 others had a public chat about narcotics, and how weed would make the whole world better.. And in about 41 minutes of chatting, a guy gets Raid by cops.. you can hear the whole dialogue.. "POLICE.. GET DOWN.. -> what the fuuck.. DUUUUDE... GET DOWN" .. That i want more of... ! Not people chewing loudly, or mumbling kids.. its getting stressfull.. haha!

  17. I'll assume that's a bad thing then haha! I seldom bother with online at the best of times, I prefer me some 90's original story mode only. Online never appeals to me, plus you quickly realize that the small portion of asshats make it seem like everyone's a douche.

  18. Muting everyone is the first thing I do now when I get online. Tired of internet tough guys screaming in my ear about how they'd 'kick your ass' IRL and so on. A lot of it is 10 year olds who clearly aren't mature enough to play this game made for adults. Albeit I've heard some immature adults do the same thing. I don't even hook up the mic anymore unless I join a private chat party.

  19. So I'm back again with the same topic but this time with a follow up as Sadie's voice actor Alex talked about the subject in question. A user on Reddit got her attention on Instagram and they had a conversation in the DM's 😏😂 people on the Reddit thread told him to ask her about Sadie x Arthur. His question; "Alright everyone from that Reddit wants me to ask you if your character was Arthur's second love interest?" Alex's response; "In my opinion, no. There was a deep mutual respect and caring for one another but it wasn't sexual. I think it was incredibly refreshing for rockstar to have female character who stood on her own and wasn't reduced or sexual used as anyone's "love interest." I find the answer super odd though because she says, "in my opinion" - though it isn't really a matter of opinion because.... You either know if you recorded the lines or not. Unless she was in the dark about there actually being a second love interest plot, OR, the poor wording from the question being asked made her assume he was referring to the current game. Cause she was never asked if content was cut with Sadie x Arthur. Though maybe the answer is right in front of us and it's the simple answer which is, 'no.' Though I do wonder, if she signed an NDA (no idea if she did or not), would she even be allowed to reveal that sort of information, and or, would she if she was directly asked? Thoughts....? I find this so weird though, I already written up my thread explaining all the reasons on why I think it was Sadie x Arthur. I mean she's the only character with things that weight out on her side while characters like M.B, etc, barely interact with Arthur and have no indication that there was ever a romantic plot.. It's so strange how they're so close too despite barely knowing each other just instant. I also can't wrap my mind around the fact that Rockstar through in things like, "Mr. Kilgore" (Rhodes), or the "honey" commentary. There are more e.g's. TLDR; - Alex said Arthur and Sadie aren't sexual after a Redditor asked if Sadie was Arthur's second love. - Her answer is odd to me, IDK if it's cause it's poorly worded so she's basing it off the poor wording and talking about current game. Though IDK if she signed an NDA and would reveal anyway. - What do you think?

  20. Would love to have my holsters on my hips real cowboy style. Would like the option of changing it to the hip.

  21. I'm expecting (hoping?) that double hip holsters will appear as new content down the line. It can't be too hard to implement, and is only cosmetic, with no gameplay consequences. At the very least, I wish there was an option to remove your crossdraw holster. One of my outfits would look much better without it. I'm prepared to take the hit on functionality, but it is the one option that you can't take off in wardrobe, like your boots or gloves, for example.

  24. Everyone I've played with has had the same disconnect error to some extent or another. Even though it's not really an issue for me since it's rare that I get disconnects, it's still a problem as I don't experience that in most other games I play online.

  25. Update: I heard from R* support on a phone call yesterday. Very professional conversation with Cole, a Supervisor. He related that they are not seeing a widespread issue with connectivity like I am seeing, except for one particular ISP, which I don't recall the name. That ISP is having issues connecting with their servers, and they are working to fix it. He believes that my disconnects are related to ping not remaining constant. He asked that I monitor ping thru Xbox network settings. I checked ping every 2 minutes and results were, 136, 136, 300, 136, 136, 136, all with no packet loss. I could not stay logged on to server with these pings. Now today I am monitoring ping again while playing Beta. I am getting 326, 545, 697, 711, all with packet loss. I have been playing for 3 hours straight with no issues. Players riding by me, in town with players, with horse following me, and taking a few breaks for over 5 minutes at a time, sometimes in game menu pause, and other times just standing in game. So I think ping is not the issue. I let him know about this site, and told him how many people seem to be having my issue. He said he has heard the complaints from players about losing pelts, etc. So they are aware and seem to be sincere in their efforts to sort out these issues. I have sent them this info in email. Will discuss with R* when they call back.

  26. The idea of a cross draw holster "normally" is that you can draw it with your dominant hand. The idea behind carrying two side arms (e.g. one crossdraw and the other on the hip) is typically so the wearer has a backup that they can access (again) with their dominant hand to help keep them in the fight. That's practical IMO. ......the whole idea of dual wielding is not but then again, we're talking about RDR which isn't that serious about what's real vs. fun (Hollywood). Aside from all that, I agree that they should allow for various ways to wear you weapons. I think it would be cool to mix it up and a way for people to express more individuality with their characters. Maybe add two hip holsters, reversed/cross draw hip, shoulder holster, etc. Probably too much work for them bother but perhaps worth it if they make some of the new setups Gold Bar exclusives. Anyhow, just for kicks and giggles...... Here's a random video I found with someone demonstrating weak hand draw with a cross draw holster just to show that it can be done as an option if needed. Yeah, it was poorly done although IIRC if you choose to holster while dual wielding using the "fancy" option (double click), it will show you holstering a similar way like in the video which I thought was cool the first time I saw. .....but when you just normally draw or holster while dual wielding, it's awful.

  27. Well hopefully they hurry up and do the update to show the good, bad and the ugly by changing the players blips on the map for other players to know who is who. Their is so much for them to work on. No matter how much pressure they get, they will continue the same pace. R* Is good enough that they know we can wait.

  28. @YodaMan 3D I'm on the Mississippi Coast but an habitual night owl. I find myself in servers with lots of Europeans and Australians. If I see you on I will surely throw you an invite. @The Coca-Cola Kid I'll hit you up within a mentation if you like. Despite advanced age failing eyesight slower reflexes Etc I think I have gained about 12 levels in the last week and it's all due to riding posse with BurbonChaser. He has also schooled me in some of the finer points eliminating a lot of my oversights and weaknesses! Value here is seeing players with experience in action. Example: instead of 150 or 200 XP points on a story mission, I've been hitting 500 to 650 per mission. We also plan routes to avoid griefers and watch each other's back against same 😁

  37. EasyX, I'm sorry to hear that you felt that way. I'm not sure if such kind of players are racist or just play nasty to everyone. I play as a white male even though I'm not white nor male. I get stabbed, shot, hog-tied, etc by all sorts of characters. Such players do so on purpose to spoil your game play. They want to antagonise you to obtain a retaliation from you. I find it a waste of my own real time, ammo and resources to go after them. Most of the time, if I'm alone I just respawn and enter another session immediately. I only retaliate hard if they shoot my fellow posses. Sometimes I feel shitty after getting killed by trollers but slowly i've grown a thick skin. People who are nasty will be nasty. There's always be di*k-heads, racists, etc running around. Mute them during gamely, block them, report them if you see a need.

  39. Great topic, and fantastic post from the OP! THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS! I'm going to cover 2 things: the potential love interest, and the link between Arthur and John. Having just completed the game, I can now view every thing in hindsight. For me, personally, I would always talk to Sadie in camp, hoping for some sort of romantic spark to happen. It's plainly clear that for most of the game Sadie is grieving for her husband, and thus any romance would be extremely slow to blossom. It just felt natural to me that Arthur would be attracted to her. She's a good looking lady, with a fiery spirit, just the kind Arthur could respect, and desire. He is one of the 3 who rescues her at the start of the game. As the story progresses, Arthur and Sadie seem almost like a reflection of one another: tough, loyal, and willing to do bad things although with a higher moral code to try to do the right thing. They seem "right" together, and eventually do a lot of missions as the gang splits, essentially replacing Dutch's role as the "honourable outlaws". They work together closely, and as others have stated, Sadie is the only one who shows any real commitment to, and compassion for Arthur. You can see plenty of scope for missing dialogue/scenes/missions, where Arthur and Sadie spend time together discussing the changing dynamics of the gang, planning how to move forward etc. Obviously both are aware that Arthur is terminally ill, and this is a core feature of the overall story as Arthur strives for redemption in the face of his looming mortality. It would be kinda messy trying to have a non sexual romance with a TB sufferer who is dying, and the potential for it to get awkward, and seem contrived is probably the reason it was left out - as well as potentially getting too "tugging on the heart strings", which wouldn't really fit with the overall game. So for me, in terms of her inherent attractiveness, how I as a player felt it natural for him to like her and vice versa, her growing character which reflects that of Arthur, number of missions they do together, and her genuine compassion for Arthur, Sadie was definitely the love interest. Charlotte: Arthur meets Charlotte when he is trying to make up for some of his wrongs, as he reflects on his life and comes to see that much of what he has done, with his misplaced loyalty to his gang (adopted family), has been evil. Charlotte is vulnerable, and Arthur adopts an older brother/father type figure in giving her the tools and confidence she needs to survive on her own. For me this was a self-contained redemption storyline and nothing more. Eliza: During a dialogue option with Rain Falls, Arthur mentions that he had a son with a young woman, but also mentions that both were killed, so there is no possibility that she was the 2nd love. Arthur, John, Abigail, and Jack - it's clear that Abigail was a working girl, as there is dialogue between Miss Grimshaw and Abigail in camp, where Abigail states that she will not work, because she "doesn't do that any more". All of the girls (except maybe Mary Beth who is new to the gang) are working girls, and Grimshaw is clearly the madam. Throughout this game, and RDR1, Abigail and John have a strained relationship. There is little warmth between them, although it's pretty clear that John does love her - you always get this awkward sense between them, like something unspoken; the sort of post-affair type of relationship, where you're together but it will never be the same again. @YodaMan 3Dmade an excellent observation, which I noticed at the time but had forgotten: when Abigail says to Arthur "you should really spend some time with Jack". This is phrased in such a way as to imply, Arthur is the father and SHOULD spend some time with his son. Almost as if he has a sense of duty to fulfil. This would also make sense of why John left the gang for about a year: if he felt, or Abigail told him, that Jack was not his, he may have freaked out and needed to get away to clear his head. Jack doesn't really seem to like John, and although John does make an effort at times, again it's always awkward; like they both know somehow that John is not the dad (Jack subconsciously, John consciously), but they sort of get along with things because this is the situation they are in, so they just go along with it (much like Abigail and John). John is clearly not that bright. Both Arthur and Jack enjoy reading, and writing (Arthur keeps a detailed journal, picks up and can read books throughout the game, Jack always has his head buried in a book). Jack seems more like Arthur, than John in this respect. Finally, in the epilogue, Jack is reading a story about King Arthur, and John gives him the assumed name Lancelot to hide his true identity. I just found that an interesting aside. Thanks for reading, I enjoy discussions like this, cheers!

  40. You need to feed, give medicine or stamina tonics. While on or near your horse, hold L1/LB, press R1/RB to tab over to "Horse" and move the right stick to the Left (9:00) (and while holding L1/LB and the Right stick to the Left you can tab through available feeds using L2/R2/LT/RT) and release L1/LB to feed your horse your selection. I like to use Hay or Wild Carrots as they give large core boosts to both Stamina and Health. The same methods apply to Stamina and Health/Medicine "tonics" at 11:00, 12:00 and 1:00 on the radial menu.

  43. Can I just ask what level you are? It might sound silly but you can purchase anything in the game with gold but everything still has a level requirement. Special Snake Oil can be bought for gold at the very beginning but you will not be able to use it until you reach level 20. I appreciate it can be misleading however look at it this way, it's gold you won't have to spend at level 20 so you can use it for something else. I learnt the same way but if was far more of an expensive lesson. Good luck 👍

  45. I hate the fact that this feature is always prominent in the latest rockstar games (GTA Online you could barrel-roll then aim and shoot with no accuracy loss). Although I would love to see more features come to Online, sooner. Right now it's just a constant grind of either missions, events or some form of hunting to go towards unlocking cosmetics, guns and horses only. If you think about it, there could be so much more that online offers that already exist in the game; Selling/buying ranches/homes or cottages. (Farming and managing/trading livestock) Trading of horses. Buying/selling/trading of wagons and coaches. A bounty system to deter griefing (the more you kill players who haven't shot at you or shown any aggression towards you the higher your bounty and it stays with you regardless of lobby refresh, just an idea). Private lobbies which we can invite friends and other players to hunt and just mess around free of worries. Free-aim lobbies. Flesh out the online story mission more maybe with appearances from more side characters from the Van Der Linde gang (e.g. Lenny handing out bank robbery missions, Pearson sending you for herb (other food items) gathering missions or Javier giving you train robbing missions, etc). More ways to interact with the train. An OFFICIAL FIGHT CLUB (this is my dream for online) where clubs can be formed with daily/weekly/monthly leaderboards and events to compete with other clubs, bets can be made, griefers can't ruin it and different locations/setting each time. Ability to sell or trades guns that you don't want anymore (the ability to remove any gun from weapon wheel and store in some sort of gun locker in your camp). PLEASE PLEASE more saved outfit slots (upgrading horse satchels giving ability to store more saved outfits). The ability to be a Hired gun. When activated, players in lobbies are able to see a list of available Hired guns and based on your stats/experience/honour can hire you for protection by an hourly/minute rate if they require only temporary protection without wanting to invite to posse. More horse breeds with more choices of coats to buy and more mane/tail styles. To be able to trade and actually sell horses, not just discard them) PASSIVE MODE and maybe a Passive Hunter mode to be able to only use the bow and other hunting weapons but not able to lock onto players and npc's, only animals. It should be noted that some of these features could already be planned for release soon, who knows. Let me know if I've missed any more ideas (which i'm sure there's plenty more).

  46. Nobody compelled other players to assist the law. If I see a pile of dead bodies in a town, I'm probably going to ride the other way unless I WANT to get involved. Itd be one thing if those players were getting ambushed, but in my experience, they knew exactly what they were getting into.
