Hey do you remember the nice days when you could play demos of games? So you didn't have to go through this rigmarole! One of my best experiences was completely finishing the demo of Spyro on my Crash Bandicoot PlayStation game! It's the entire reason I bought a PS3 to play Spyro, had to return it and buy a PS2 because of the PS3 was non retro... I'm telling you every new development turns me off LOL2 points

imo if people can't handle dealing with hostiles players.. Stop playing the game. Since its really part of the game. People like me play this game just waiting for something to pop off, because without any sort of hostile players around, this game would be boring as hell. If the argument was about not having private lobbies so you can play in peace.. I would totally support that, because private lobbies is a 100% must. But in public games, its meant to be a free for all. Griefers are just the must needed bad guys that make this game exciting. R* already punishes players who defend themselves by adding a kill tax and making their blips red. Which in turn makes people think Red blips are griefers.. Which sort of makes people blip racists.. (Because red blips just means they killed a lot of players in a short time, not that they are griefers) Anyone new to Red Dead.. 1.) Play the Single player campaign to get used to the basics of the game, inventory use and how the guns work/feel. 2.) Play PVP game modes till you lose your mind. The more you die.. the more you learn. Every kill you get makes you understand how pvp works even more. 3.) After losing your mind in pvp modes dealing with tons of hostile players at once. A few 'griefers' in free roam is almost a non issue. 4.) If worse comes to worse, Find a new lobby or parlay.2 points

Best use of the "flop", I find, is for extra shiggles when your char finds himself knee deep in mud. It's said a mud bath is jolly good for the complexion and will get you lots of attention next time you're in town..2 points

I would say that this game hit the sweet spot for old farts. Too old for Fortnite..............and to young for nursing home Nintendo.2 points

My loooong winded complimentary rant about this game. If you have a life just skip it, I bought Far Cry 5 a week before I bought RDR2, I bought RDR after I finished RDR2 the second time, because I didnt want the story to end, I have other games I used to love and play daily, COD WW2, Star Wars Battlefront 2, etc.. After playing RDR2 three times now and having just started the online part, I just cant play my other games. Rockstar really got this right despite any shortcomings with online. I was stoked about Far Cry 5 for a long time, I only played Far Cry 2, never saw another so I figured 5 has to be great right? I loved 2 it was really fun. It looked good, I played it a few times, and then I played rdr2, now I just cant bring myself to turn it on, lol. This game is too good and I want to tell every other game maker, hey, you, step it up!! this is what we need, these physics, graphics, AI, etc.. you want to make a ww2 game, fine, make it like this, make a fictional sci fi game, great!! like this though!! lol These npc's and random encounters and stranger missions and side stories, holy cow!! this is it!! this is how I would to see games coming out work on. honestly Im shocked as the money seems to be in online games and I am not a big online player, other than COD ww2 I really do not play games online, too many hassles and headaches, cheaters, lag etc.. So to make a game this deep on the single player side I feel like it was made for me When I started playing video games it was in the early 1970's Zaxxon was an early 3d game at arcades and later on I think Colecovision maybe? I dunno we had it though, The Adam computer that ran on cassettes, lol, not even floppys yet. I loved it and I remembered thinking, I hope games keep getting better. Then later Goldeneye came out and blew me away, but then Quake 2 came out on pc and if you had a decent gamer, lol like a 400 mhz p2 or something you could play it at 99 fps at 1600x1200 and we were blown away!! That started about 8 years of building gaming pcs and over clocking them long before you could actually do it like today, we used graphite pencils and connected circuits on the chip itself to unlock multiplier's and open up the Front side bus, because if you did it right, you could take a pc game and crank the settings to the max and still get 60 fps, for a few years this was all I did. then came Half life, and counter strike, then HL2, and Crysis, and veitcong, eventually Call of Duty world at war. All of that led to Red Dead Redemption 2 and it was a wild ride. Now that we are here, I can say this is the apex of gaming in my lifetime, the smoothest running highly detailed game I have ever seen, I am very thankful people are so dedicated to this that I was able to witness the entire evolution from pong to RDR2. I'm old, but I'm a gamer, always have been, as an adult I either have had gaming pc's or the latest consoles on 70" 4k tvs, it just makes me smile and think about 10 year old me, and how awesome this is compared to the old black and white spare tv in the basement playing Atari games like pitfall and breakout. End Rant, RDR2 is amazing, the sp side of it is unparalleled. Even the online side for a Beta is great! and only goign to get better, it is simply amazing and after playing it for a few months it is easy to get desensitized to it and forget how awesome this game really is.1 point

some players, whom I met in the various PvP challenges, manage to avoid my bullets by throwing themselves to the ground. automatic targeting does not work. How do they do it ? is it about a skill card? thank you for any reply1 point

I always have a bounty. Lol. I have given up on bounties. I seem to average a $ 20 bounty most times. I have gotten use to it at this point.1 point

100 % when they start diving let go of aim. Once they are on the ground you can auto target again. Go for head shot first thing as they will continue. You got this peppe ! Give em hell1 point

We got the new Spyro not long ago and played it on PS4. Same old game with better graphics. It was fun for a weekend.1 point

I'm currently playing The Division 2 like @BropolloCreed79 but it's all about co-op for me. Just taking a little break from RDR2 for now but I will be revisiting the game every now and again especially after updates.1 point

Patience. If you know you're up against a flopper, aim, wait for them to flop and then fire away.1 point

The only thing I can think of is offhand holsters like the deadbolt holster allow you to dual wield pistols, revolvers or sawed off shotguns. Other than that, it's all cosmetic.1 point

I think Bethesda realizes now what a mistake it was to force this change of direction on their longtime fans. It really hurt the series reputation and trust some folks had in them to deliver a true Fallout experience IMO. Personally, I think they should have focused on the SP and went with just co-op for the MP element. I think more people would have been way more receptive to that as they could then share the story with friends. I know my group of PSN folks I play with would have been all over it. Personally, Fallout is not the kind of game I necessarily want to experience with randoms.1 point

As I heard it, one enters a flopping contest with ones enemy until a timing advantage appears. Hopefully a high level flopper will be along shortly to guide you-flop wise.1 point
-
Like @bluntTR4P said it depends on the horse, standard breeds yeah you can do in an hour-ish. Elite horses take much much longer. constantly feeding/patting is a waste of time and thumb energy, there's a timer on when you can do it again to get more bonding points after the previous time. That was already answered by @Dewy1314, cheat codes disable achievements and saving the game.1 point

Here's a handy little guide that shows what you unlock at each level. MFT unlocks at level 58. Don't remember the price of the top of my head. https://www.rdr2.org/guides/rank-unlocks-guide/1 point

Ok, let me ask this another way. Is your problem with Survivalist 9, or the Legendary fish? In your survivalist 9 challenge list, what fish isn't ticked? Don't confuse this with the Legendary fish as they're separate.1 point
-
You can't catch the Legendary channel catfish. You can catch the ordinary one though.1 point

Howdy peppe ! Yea bud the fish flopping is annoying , I use it in fire emergencies like when I'm out numbered 5 to 1. It drains the stamina bar pretty quickly. Use it as you please but remember it does have consequences. Carry on bud !1 point

Only try hards flop around like a out of water. It pisses me off. Stand up and face me like a man/woman damnit!🤬1 point

While holding L2 (aiming) press "square" and tilt left analogue stick in the direction you wish to dive/flop Pepe. It will temporarily break a "lock on" but you will look a bit of a twonk doing it. 😁1 point

Generally assume "to make progress need to fight with much skilled enemy." So just relax and find way to fight him. If u stressed a lot just change session.1 point

The Strange Man, often interpreted as being Death himself because he's unharmable and appears at times and places of death, can be seen in the first Red Dead telling John he likes how he kills yet still respects marriage, that he hopes his son would be like him, that he remembers him but won't say from where, speaks about the girl that died on the ferry, shows up where John gets burried right before he dies, etc. In the sequel he has a cabin decorated in his honor by one of his surrogates that's located in Bayou NWA. He can be seen in the standing mirtor when the place is revisited by John enough times when the painting of him is complete. The painting can be studied as a point of interest collectable with a journal entry added as well. When John studies the painting, he notes that he feels like he is being watched. There are plenty of references to the players choices in the cabin as well as a map of Armadillo with an eery message about someone facing the consequences after being made an ultimatum of either happiness or 2 generations. When you go to Armadillo, the place is sick with colera, and a man outside town will mention that they were cursed by the Strange Man who had been seen around town at the start of the outbreak. The Blind Man will also mention that the player is being pursued by a other-worldly being. The Fortune Teller in the Bayou will mention gods dying and circles being broken. Herbert Moon is spared from the disease because uis shop bears a shrine to the Strange Man behind his counter that John will point out. Herbert seems possessed as if he's a proxy to the Strange Man since he doesn't know why its hung in his shop or who the man is, though both him and John mention that he seems familiar. The Strange Man may be a demon, ghost, or the Devil himself. Are there any other references I'm missing? I'd love to know more about him. Some have speculated that he's the Ferryman and that the girl from the ferry he mentions isn't just a literal mention as to the murder Dutch committed but also figuritively speaking about carrying other's souls from this plane. Most people already know of the ghost lady in the swamps, the ufos, and the Aztec symbols quoting the Bible in Blackwater, so there are a lot of canon supernatural things in the game that i find interesting.1 point

Much, much less time than that if you constantly feed it and pat it while you ride. More like 1/2 hour or 45 minutes tops, but that's not at all the point of this post. This is about whether procuring a horse using a cheat code would disable achievements related to replaying missions.1 point

Check at the stable but I'm going to try to remember. The first thing that I remember is that my fellow party member nearly had a stroke because I paid gold and he has been hoarding his. I think the trotter was like level 61 or something.. the all-black American Standardbred is a mighty good deal if you have an upgraded saddle and upgraded stirrups. I have one and the only thing you have to watches that you keep his stamina replenished. His name is Zorro and he is lightning fast. The best saddle in the game is the gurdon trail saddle and worth waiting to be able to afford the upgrade. Pair that with hooded stirrups and you can successfully escape or chase when you need to.... I used to whine about the trotter because he was very very unpredictable and difficult. Then he settle down after and I realized he had been glitched1 point

It is annoying but when it keeps happening, it just gets frustrating. I am all for PVP but there should be some kind of cooldown or escape from it since some people are only on there to annoy others.1 point

SAME! Like allow us to have jobs. Hell, let us open farms and hire people. It would really add to the free play.1 point

I find that most nocturnal critters that are small hand out most near cities and such. I guess this is true to nature in the real world. I see all kinds of skunks, coons, possums, and the like handing out around here at night when the weather warms up. Trash diggers!1 point

Thanks buddy, all god stuff and I will def try that join/quit thing if that happens repeatedly. I think the first time it happened was the worst because I didnt understand it I didnt know they could lead my horse even though I set the settings not to allow it, I didnt know what their intentions were so I panicked, I shot at them for taking my horse, of course they baited me, and I understand that now, at the time I was very confused and angry and wondered why are they following me and why are they hanging around my camp riding their horses over all my stuff and just acting disrespectful. That combined with the confusion over my account mistake I made and looking for my gold was just too much, but im past that now, over it, and ready to forge on. Ive been killed since and for no reason by some asshat over nothing in the back of the head while entering my camp, but whatever I dont let that bother me, it is annoying but meh, not worth getting upset over. Thanks again for your comments.1 point

Fair enough, but after 40 years of gaming this is the only game that has really stressed me out this way, and to be fair my anxiety disorder is something that developed over the past 10 years, in that time I have found that games like rdr2 do actually help me, they allow me to "shut it off" my problem normally is I can not stop thinking / worrying about things, even if it doesnt make sense or I cant change it, it is a huge burden, but playing immersive games really takes me away, I dont worry or over think stuff, I just play and have a good time. The mulitplayer experience is new to me as I have almost always avoided it with a few exceptions, boxing online, golf, COD WW2, and Star Wars Bft 2 online, and all those were very pleasant online. Well boxing is full of cheats and poor sports, lol but otherwise its good. I was overly confused, that didnt help, I couldnt get straight answers on things, that triggers desperation and then what I thought things were like, I foudn out they were not and so all that in the same two days really took a toll, but I am nothing if not self aware and adaptable. So, I am giving it another try and with a better more clear understanding of things, and I think I will be just fine. Im a very active and outdoor person, but in winter I do not go outside at all, ever, I hate the cold, I have several sever injuries that make it hard and I cant afford a fall, anyway the lack of natural sunlight gives me that season depression stuff so I made it my plan last year, in winter I play my xbox, and this winter was the first time I have really done that since the xbox 360 was new. It really worked, 8 weeks of gaming playing only rdr2 was very therapeutic for me, I loved it. Now winter here is nearly over, I can start going out again, I compete as a semi pro disc golfer and that keeps me busy all spring summer and fall, but from Thanksgiving til April fools day, its all about the games. The only stressful thing all winter was trying to figure out this online lol and after two difficult days, I sorted it out with the help of a bunch of super nice people here on these boards, their kindness towards me instead of flaming me or making fun really made all the difference and was a turning point. I didnt expect that at all, I figured mostly I would hear what you said, dont play, but not a single person said that, and what you said was not offensive to me at all, I completely understand the comment and I know you weren't being sarcastic. Thanks again to each of you, hope ill see out there, when I do say hello before you fire.1 point

all over the map, they're nocturnal. i found all of mine in West Elizabeth up near the legendary buck area, around the old oil derrick south of Twin Stack Pass, and there's some along Ringneck Creek. those are the only 3 reliable spots i found. I'd search in West elizabeth all night, then go to Valentine and spend the day with the bath girl and sleep till evening, then ride from valentine through the open lands to the oil derrick, i usually found them in brush between the tracks and the derrick or in the draw at the derrick and up the hill. go from there to the creek and you'll spot them sometimes out in the open grasslands. When you get to the creek ride down it just below the pond to the Kamassa River, sometimes you'll find 2 'possum there. Don't forget to hit your eagle eye every so often to help spot them.1 point

Foxtrot pretty much summed it up. btw, why do you think people will hate you? They may not agree with your points (I know I don't) but that doesn't mean we hate you. Makes no difference to me if someone doesn't like a game that I enjoy or vice versa.1 point

Well, I tested the game in every game mode I could. My tv is full hd, so I tested it with supersampling turned on and off too. It continues exactly as it was before! The game is more blurry with the supersampling on. All problems with the blur are still present. Duplicate things when you move the camera quickly, the aurea around the character, and all around completely blurry. I also tested the online mode, and also did not see any changes. If they fixed something in relation to the image, only analyzing too deeply to see.1 point

They'll make a lot more money with the online content releases and the micro-transactions than a $29.99 DLC or whatever they charge for it. At this point it's all about the money.0 points
