  2. A scene in every western movie ever made: The camera slowly pans back from an overhead view. There is man laying in bed motionless, his body riddled with bullet holes and barely clinging to sweet life. Days pass into night in a endless cycle as a lovely woman carefully wipes his forehead with a wet rag and silently prays at his bedside. Finally a spark of light appears from his eyes and he slowly raises from the bed. Yes.....he is a broken man as he struggles to swallow spoonful of soup, knowing that his antagonists will soon return to finish the job they started. Scene: A row of bottles and empty cans line the top rail of an old wooden fence, Gunshots ring out! But the scene remains static until we see a bottle explode. The camera pans back to the rancher. His left arm is cradled in a sling but his right hand firmly grasps his pistol as smoke curls from it's barrel. His aim is slow and erratic at first, but we then see a multitude of rusted cans, suspended in midair, with bullet holes in their centers. The bad guys return, he shoots the guns out of the hands of the sidekicks and plants a shot in the forehead of their leader. If his wife had returned those bottle and cans to the recycling center the week previously......?

  3. I don't want my money to be looted from me by a griefer, that's just incentive for them to grief even more than they already do. But having a bank to use could be a thing. Going along similar lines of realism as the hair growth system. However, since the game is billed as the players all being outlaws, would outlaws use banks? Still a neat idea to think about.

  4. I've sent a suggestion to R* about adding a length selector to the hair and beard styles. Maybe if more people ask for it they may inpliment it.

  5. So, I have had this scenario play out three times now. I just used the Rockstar suggestion form to suggest a fix. Here is what has been happening. A level 5 player, ( for some reason all three were level 5 players,) so brand new, right out of the intro, come to think of it dont you have to steal a horse and all that and you end up I thought at level 7 or 11? I dont remember but it just now dawned on me at level 5 you just entered the game for the first time where you can actually free roam, lol. Ok, so here is what they do. See me skinning an animal usually and then point a carbine repeater at me and start shooting, sigh.. Its not a problem like "oh no I keep getting attacked", lol its hardly an attack, it is barely a threat, BUT it is inconvenient, and it is backwards because here is how this plays out. So ok I warned him once, he is still pointing and or shooting, so ok, I pull out dual sawed off's and dismembered him, now I immediately turn red/offensive so now I can be easily targeted, etc..he presses charges, lol after instigating this and being the aggressor with obvious intent, but ok, and then he comes attacking. It was pretty funny to see this little dude with his un-modified carbine come charging on foot, lol and I told him again in the mic, "Dude, you started it and got what you deserved, if I came up to you and pointed a gun, you would have shot me, AND I told you not too, now if you keep coming all you are going to do is waste my ammo and time, I have things to do." But he kept coming, so I changed to my Slippery B card to reverse the offensive auto targeting thing he had been given and then I arm a bow with dyna arrows and wait, after 3 I left the server because I don't want to waste my dynamite. The point is, when a player comes up and points his gun at you, HE or SHE should then become red and offensive so that if you decide to defend yourself and shoot first to prevent being killed, you are allowed to and not charged or made the offender. I just think as soon as he targeted me, he should have gone red, I didnt give him a chance this time, previously I did and I was shot each time, so I got sick of that and figured, if they come up and point a gun at me, I'm shooting. But I don't think it is right that I get the penalty albeit small and the medium offensive level wears off in about 10 minutes so... But still I think they need to fix that.

  6. Without having to go on a murder spree. 😏 I use my Schofield pistol for this. Set up camp. Order a lot (I mean alot) of Regular ammo thru your mobile catalog. Pick it from your lock box in your camp. Go to the fire and select Craft. Under Ammo, select Split Point Pistol ammo. At max you should have 200 Regular ammo and be able to craft 100 Split Point at a time. Hold dlown the "A" button (XBox)) until you can't craft anymore. Shoot all your newly crafted Split Point ammo into the ground, air, trees, where ever. Sit at fire and craft another 100. Shoot all those. Go to your Lockbox and get more Regular pistol ammo. Rinse and repeat. This starts to fill your progress for collecting items from your Lockbox award and will easily get you thru your crafting award. I got my Buckle plus reset Crafting 3 times doing this. Thousands of XP plus 0.04 gold nuggets on each reset.

  7. No. When you set up camp, you select a region and the game will randomly place your camp somewhere within that region which you'll then have to physically travel to(until you're high enough level to set up fast travel to it). However, there are campfires scattered throughout the map which you can use to cook and craft.

  8. Sorry but you cannot setup a camp fire like in single player. Online will random place a camp with in your region you select. You can look for camp fires around the map. Not other players camps, but camp fires placed in certain location on the map. They work just like your camp fire. Just walk up and it will allow you to craft or cook. There are camp fires around Saint Denis, Braithwaite in the back by the free apple house, house by Mattock Pond has one. Just to name a few so you know what you are looking for. If you want to craft item and not cook them, you can just press & hold Y on Xbox and it will tell say you are about to rest. You will take a knee and you can craft certain items like arrow & explosive rounds without a fire.

  9. Did you try parking the horse closer? I usually ride right up to the butcher. also, when you approach your horse does it have a remove (x-pelt) option? If not, you may not actually have a pelt there, just a weird glitched image of a pelt... perhaps open a rockstar ticket.

  10. You can ‘rest’... it’s good for the cores.

  11. It is annoying when a griefer (singular) kills you with a cheap shot, but you can respawn and can either go after them or go somewhere else, it’s a whole different story when it’s a persistent posse of 4+ griefers and when you respawn you really have no chance at all. I think when this happens, the griefers should show up as red dots for everybody, not just you. Then everybody will know they are a hostile posse and go after them, or a least if you’re just a bystander you’ll know the situation and can either get ready to defend yourself or just leave the area if you don’t want to deal with them. Who knows. This is Rockstar’s problem, they are the experts and can see all the data, and they are the only ones who can come up with solutions, if they want to. But the cynical side of me says that a Rockstar doesn’t care. If a persistent posse of griefers is buying gold all the time to upgrade camp, get matching outfits, buying all the expensive guns and horses, they are “good customers” for Rockstar. If you’re just one person who makes money hunting or on missions, etc., and doesn’t buy a lot of gold, you’re more like a freeloader and they are going to side with the posse of griefers and make things easier for them because that’s where the money is at. I think Rockstar is fully aware that the griefing problem is more profitable preventing it, that’s why the problem is still so persistent after all the months of beta.

  12. I must admit... I still have a blast shooting old cans and bottles every now and then... But I do clean up my mess after...

  13. Slightly off topic, but still related, I was watching the livestream of SqareEnix's presentation for their upcoming Marvel Avengers game and they mentioned pS4 exclusives for that game including early Beta access. Can't wait!😀

  14. I felt a little silly making a badge for myself so I made the badge a little silly. But I've got to do a shout out to all the players, past and present, who helped me get here--thank you. As the band Coldplay sang, "Nobody said it was easy." [Dang it I forgot to incorporate the crew's bunny logotype! Epic fail]

  15. Maybe not for ‘honour’. But it wasn’t that long ago when we still had independent stores of various types. The kind where the guy behind the cash register also owned the place and knew all the regular customers by name... If you had a decent reputation at a place like this you could do things like ask him to hold your cheque until Friday. Or maybe he’d toss in something extra just because, or not worry when you came up $10 short for the bill... I’m thinking back in the RDR2 times this was even more a thing.

  17. And this would make visiting my camp actually useful. Since most of the time I don't bother with one.

  18. Last night I was targeted while I was in Valentine. I sat there waiting and attacker never showed up. Easiest XP ever. I didn't have to do anything to get it.

  19. A shaving station could easily be added to camp. I just bought the traveling opulence camp theme since it is currently on sale and there is a little mirror on one of the barrels.

  20. Nacogdoches it's called. Looks like someone barfed on your horse but has exemplarary stats I think. Also available at much lower rank than other top stat saddles. Don't know or care enough to see if it's the new top dog or not as I wouldn't want to embarrass my hoss by putting that eyesore on him even if it meant he could then fly.

  21. Slow and Steady (my personal favorite) was nerfed big time in pvp. Seems to work ok against the npc's tho. At this point it became usless in pvp. Same goes to NWO - didnt really use it that much. I use a variety of cards depending on the situation im in. I have all 24 cards on tier 3 so many to pick from. Unfortunately there are quite a number of usless cards (at least in current update state) The biggest disappointment for me was the Short Game card (increase dmg from close distance / decrease dmg from long dis). I really thought it will combine well with shotguns and pistols/revolvers. The range is so low You have to be really really close to the victim for it to work. Less then half of effective shotgun range... Cards like Hangman, The gift of focus, A moment to recuperate, Take the pain away are usless atm. I really liked my pvp setup : S&S + Unblinking Eye + eye for eye + Cold blooded - doesnt work now so need to find another i like for most pvp games. I like to use : SB + Unblinking eye + To fight another day + Of single purpose - Pvp run around and kill ppl with knives, machette etc I use same on "steal goods" games and focus only on stealing and delivering. In free roam mostly i use DMG setup for hunting. I dont use bow for hunting - Bolt action + Varmint is good for me. Focus fire + Horseman + Landon's patience+peak condition - One shot in the biggest game will always kill the animal even if You missed the heart / head it will bleed out fast and there is no need to ruin the pelt with 2nd shot. On co-op missions i like to use cards that regenerate health for whole team (Quite an inspiration) it regenerates health pretty fast and does not break when shot at. Same with focus fire - its good boost to dmg for the lower lvl ppl playing with You - and less chance to fail the mission. I still havent decided about the main pvp build but im thinking : 1 st : PiB + Hunker down + Winning streak + Peak condition 2nd PiB + Hunker Down + Winning streak + Cold blooded 3rd PiB + Hunker down + Winning streak + Landon's patience Or same ones but Focus Fire instead of PiB - need to run some tests. At the end there is no "BEST" card layout. I change them quite frequently depending on situation and play style.

  24. Have hair grow dynamically over time would be a nice integration to online. They have it in story.
    1 point
  25. There is a lot of potential about the hair part, and also seeing as the NPC´s have different types of the ones we can choose. i had hopes, that they would have done the hair thing, the same way as in Story mode. It was cool! , and more realistic!

  26. Dude, this exact thing happened to me last night too, a guy showed when I had 3 bodies left to kill, he sh*t one, then proceeded to rush loot all my bodies, I told him in my mic, not cool bro, this is my hideout, you got here when I was done, I would never show up and do that to you so I dont appreicate it, but obviously he ignored me and just tried to loot all he could then ran off to his buddy. I think they saw the smoke, rushed over there and then realized I had been there already and was nearly done, his ego and attitude wouldnt let him realiae the ovious truth, someone else already got here, so he just couldnt help himself, lol. Let me tell you, I have rushed like the wind many times and got there to find otherts clearing it, once I got there and could have started it but I noticed to guys also showed up, so in all those cases, I thought, meh, there are no shortage of these, Im gonna let them have it, no issues, and I just turned and left, im not going to act like a crack head picking up crumbs in a carpet over 20 bodies, lol Ill just get the next one. But I thought of this post and then read your reply in particular and thought, oh that is funny, I wonder if it was the same guy?

  27. When it comes to PvP I'm the exact opposite. I prefer more methodical paced, tactical shooters. The more they lean toward realism / milsim, the better for me. More realistic damage modeling and consequences force players to think before they act. ......no running and gunning However, my PvP fix is coming just as soon as Insurgency Sandstorm hits console later this year. I stopped building PCs and gaming on them back when the PS3 hit the market. I miss those games and would likely be playing titles like Squad, Hell Let Loose, Escape From Tarkov, ARMA, etc. if I were still gaming on PC.

  28. I wonder if you are targeted, could you enter a shop and ghost mode the 5min?

  29. Just run away, and then if they get close, leave. You get money and XP for surviving.

  30. Not just encourage player kill player. But also encourage us to kill own friend. Until today, we still autoaim to our friend. Rockstar seems enjoy to create this kind of world.

  31. The second day I had this 'You have been targetted for assassination" .... Oh really..... click... leave. Absolutely ridiculous ...... Enticing players to kill others in game, players who are not taking part in the bulls*** ...... is beyond pathetic

  32. It is stranger mission. I think from Sean, which randomly pick any player. The worst part is, game never mention about the target is a player, not npc. Me & my friend attack this target, only after his death, I realized that is a player. Feel so bad. 😔

  33. Welcome to my daily world!

  34. I do this all the time... ^. I think of it more of like a partying gift.. Its my way of saying "Thanks for coming out'. I don't keep attacking them unless they keep coming back. . Sometimes, if its a low level or I was bored and had fun, I won't shoot at them if its over. But most of the time I do. I can help it.. Its the principle of it all that gets my trigger finger itchy I personally don't do assassination missions.. And have convinced my friends not too either. So my mindset is. If you "Choose' to do the assassination missions.. You're basically choosing to mindlessly kill a RANDOM player for no reason. And at that point, you're rolling the dice at the response you'll get.
