What is your biggest fear for Red Dead Redemption II?

Going off all the information we currently have, what is your biggest fear concerning Red Dead Redemption II?

This could be a concern you have about how Rockstar are gonna handle the story, DLC, Red Dead Online but it could also be a game feature or style of gameplay that your worried Rockstar will implement in Red Dead Redemption II.

Voice your concerns if you have any, whatever they may be.

Honestly, I have no fears regarding RDR2 because I'm pretty confident I know what to expect based on R*s track record and my own experience with their past titles.  If we were discussing a tile from someone like Ubisoft however, I'd likely have a laundry list based on disappointments I've had with them.

......now that I'm thinking of it,  I do worry a bit about RDR2:O.  I hope it's not a griefer-haven like GTAV:O was/is.  I also hope the game promotes a cooperative gameplay environment.  It would be cool to play the campaign in co-op but I know that won't likely happen.

Of course, I could start developing concerns once we know more about the gameplay elements, components and mechanics, but as it is right now, no one knows much.

My concern is that when the game is released, I’ll have a 4 week old baby in the house and won’t be able to throw myself into it like I’d like to.

Other than that, like Kean_1, I am pretty confident. Though I do worry about the micro transactions and the authenticity in Online. Please no pay to win or pink horses. ????????

Bears.

Bear you can see coming though. I am more worried about those cats man. They got me so many times in the last one.

Then again, I had a bear scare the crap out of me once cause the sound didn't actually trigger in the game. I actually jumped up.

I really don't have any I can think of off the top of my head. The worst thing already happened which was the delay but even now, in retrospect, it wasn't that bad. Now I am not saying there won't be something I dislike about the game. I usually find at least a few things that annoy me or I would rather not be in the game or be different entirely but that won't come about until I actually play the game.

I don't believe I have one. I guess I trust R* to get it right. They got GTAV and RDR1 right, so this will be fine. :)

This is the case for me. Seeing multiple delays happen. I am in the same boat as you. Until I can play the game, I really won't have much input on this.

I don't really have any 'fears' (except my wife getting upset I am playing too much lol)  I am not worried that the game will be disappointing, I think it will be really awesome.  I worry about little things that will be more or less annoying than anything.  Like horses....I hate in RDR when I whistle for my steed, and when I run over to get on it, it starts galloping until I get like 2 feet behind it, and then it takes off again. Also, I'm hoping they keep the 3 options of multiplayer. (Friendly, Normal, and Hardcore.)  I always play hardcore because you don't have that stupid neon logo over your head, which sucks when someone is tracking you or following you....makes it kind of unrealistic and difficult to hide when there's a bright colored star above your head.  Other than that, I have no fears.

I'm right there with ya, brother.

"Gosh, it sure would be nice if DADDY would come spend some family time with us instead of spending all his time on his cowboy game . . . "

Ughhhh . . .

I'm also hoping they bring back the different types of Freeroam from Red Dead Redemption, if Rockstar stick with their GTA Online model of one Freeroam for everybody I'm gonna be disappointed because that'll most likely mean the inclusion of some sort of God Mode again.

A.  No  semi  autos  or  modern MGs  in the  game.

The Semi-automatic Pistol was already confirmed to be in the game by the third trailer but I doubt they'll be any modern machine guns in the game, the only machine gun we've seen is the Browning Mounted Machine Gun.

It's been confirmed that you can loot dead bodies like in the previous game but when riding with your gang you'll have to move fast because your fellow gang members will do the same.

It's been confirmed that you can pet dogs (petting cats hasn't been confirmed although I wouldn't be surprised if you can) but I doubt you can take them to get medical help if they're injured.

Do you mean the "A" button or do you mean something else entirely?

I think he meant "A" from his list above. e.g., "A. No  semi  autos  or  modern MGs  in the  game."

(That being said - WHY would you expect/hope/pray to see ANYTHING modern in this game?? Talk about an immersion-killer. If I see Arthur - or ANYONE, for that matter - pull out an anachronistic weapon of ANY sort, I'll totally check out. Done. Goodbye.)

Multiplayer, story-mode, or otherwise.

So he doesn't want any semi-autos or modern machine guns in the game but he wants them to be purchasable at the beginning of the game? I'm so confused, I'm just gonna ignore his comment, it's crazy how young some of the people on this forum are.

Anyway, I don't think Rockstar will include any overly unrealistic features/weapons or anything that doesn't fit the time period of the game but I may be proved wrong when Rockstar start running out of ideas for Red Dead Online, when they ran out of ideas for Red Dead Redemption DLC the last DLC they dropped included an Explosive Rifle which caused all kinds of cancerous players to come out of the woodwork and we all know what happened when they ran out of original ideas for GTA Online.

Lets hope Rockstar stay true to Red Dead Redemption II's setting and realistic style of gameplay.

It appeared to me he was saying his biggest fear is that there WON'T be any semi-automatic or modern machine guns like in GTA. Which there most certainly should NOT be, save for MAYBE a hand-crank gatling gun.

LOL, my bad. Forgot what the question of this post was which is pretty embarrassing seen as I posted the question but yeah, I'd prefer it if Rockstar didn't include modern weapons but it is 1899 and the Semi-auto Pistol has already been confirmed so I guess we'll have to wait and see how far Rockstar take it.

Personally my biggest fear is that the online mode will be like GTA 5 online. I got tired of always having to make a private or solo server to invite my friends can we could not just roam openly without fear of being ganked. Also got tired of people having music on their mic or a crying baby so that the server was filled with noise pollution.

Same here, I don't want a repeat of GTA Online. I don't want another Freeroam experience where your bombarded with toxic players who can only kill you with explosives or by abusing Passive Mode, I hope Rockstar ditch the abused features of GTA Online and make Red Dead Online more gunplay based as well as bring back Friendly Freeroams instead of putting a glorified God Mode in Normal Freeroam.

Noise pollution was a big problem in GTA Online, Rockstar could've reduced the problem by keeping the proximity chat they had introduced in Red Dead Redemption Multiplayer but instead they just went with a lobby chat.

Also the cops would not go after people who killed you but if you so much as pushed someone too hard you got 5 stars. They should do what Fallout 76 is planning on doing. If you kill someone an alert of a bounty will be placed on your head that can be collected as well as NPCs will be on alert for you.  As for pvp, they plan to have it were if someone else shoots you ,you  don't die automatically if the person you attack fights back it is considered a fair duel while if you kill some one who does not fight back it is murder.

This would be a nice change that would also promote the more realism they are trying so far to portray

The "potato digger" machine gun was used in the Spanish-American war near the turn of the century so it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibilities to see that in this game.  The technology of the gatling gun was already about 40 years old by RDR2's time and nearing the end of its usefulness.

That's actually a Maxim gun.

But, you're right: they DID exist in the late 19th century . . .

To be fair, The Wild Bunch is set in 1913, two years after the original RDR.  Since RDR2 is supposed to be 1899, it may predate that gun (checks the internet)... nope, we're all good; Maxim gun was invented in 1884.
