So The O'Driscoll gang is trying to extort money from a father and his two sons while they are building their new home stead, I kill the gang members and loot the bodies, The father sets off berating his sons and they regret moving from the city. I come back later (Chapter 2) (Zero Bounty) and they are almost completed with the house. He asks for help. $100.00 or a load of wood. I proceed to Appleseed Timber Co. There was a guy there that always antagonizes me in Valentine. Chubby Bald fellow with some red hair and a green neckerchief. I draw my weapon LB and he bolts off No Karma issues. I get on the load of timber , BAM 5 points RED. So I proceed to Castor Ridge. I get hung up on a rock with the long as day timber wagon, One horse breaks loose and R U N N O F T. Great day in New Hanover. So as the snowball rolls, I landed up high centering the logs on a boulder on the Dakota river crossing. I left it there, sure am glad I whistled for my horse Blanca. I proceed back to Appleseed and the foreman asks me to kill some wolves, Wolves 1- me goose egg. After re-spawning I go back and put down all three wolves. Thank goodness for the Legendary Buck Trinket. Even after multiple bullet holes I get Three good pelts. I proceed to carry the carcasses over to the camp and drop them in the foreman's office. He gives me $50.00 for the effort and charges me $75.00 for a load of wood. As I was heading down the trail near Diablo Ridge I clip a cowboy with the Schooner sized wagon, he shoots at me and I blow his head clear off with a couple of slugs from my rare shotgun. I pass a rider later on down the trail and all of a sudden I'm a murderer. As I proceed to Valentine a posse is heading toward me on a bridge. The Trail train was at full gallop as was I and I ran over six or so deputies. Needless to say by the time I got to Castor Ridge, logs were falling off the wagon and I had a bounty for $150.00,I went back to Appleseed and acquired another load of lumber after paying my bounty off. I actually got the whole load to the work site without killing or injuring anyone and the Old man R U N N M E O F T at gun point. I'm telling you these country folks are mean and angry. I should have just paid the 100.00 dollars and been done with it. This added up to $225.00 out of my pocket. The wolves looted me for $50.00. Respectfully, Arthur Morgan2 points

Red Dead Redemption features a colorful cast of characters who aren't just there to progress the story, but also to help Arthur in his quest to aid the gang that has become his true family over the years. Among the members of the gang that will provide help to the outlaw is the cook Simon Pearson, who not only provides food for the whole gang but also a crafting service which allows players to obtain a variety of items in exchange for animal parts. In order for Pearson to be able to craft all of the possible items, you need to purchase a specific camp upgrade, the Leather Working Tools. This upgrade costs only $180, so we suggest you purchase as soon as possible since some of the items that the cook can craft for you are extremely useful. In this guide, we will not only list all the items that Pearson can craft but also where to find all the required materials. Satchel Upgrades The most useful items that Pearson can craft are the satchel upgrades. These seven upgrades expand your inventory space for select item types, so getting them will allow you to carry more items which, in turn, can be sold for more money. Crafting these upgrades, however, is going to be difficult if you're not good at hunting since you need perfect pelts, hides, and skins to do so. Once you have one in your possession, donate it to Pearson by selecting the appropriate option when interacting with his wagon. Red Dead Redemption 2_20181026175305Valuables Satchel Increases carrying capacity for valuable items that can be sold for money 1 Perfect beaver skin, 1 perfect rabbit skin Materials Satchel Increases carrying capacity for inedible materials used for crafting 1 Perfect boar hide, 1 perfect iguana skin Provisions Satchel Increases carrying capacity for all provisions 1 Perfect bison hide, 1 perfect raccoon skin Kit Satchel Increases carrying capacity for hit equipment 1 Perfect elk skin, 1 perfect panther skin Ingredients Satchel Increases carrying capacity for edible ingredients used for cooking and tonic crafting 1 Perfect badger skin, 1 perfect squirrel carcass Tonics Satchel Increases carrying capacity for all tonics 1 Perfect buck hide, 1 perfect elk skin Legend of the East Satchel Greatly increases carrying capacity for all item types 1 Perfect wolf skin, 1 perfect cougar skin Cosmetic Camp Upgrades Alongside satchel upgrades, Pearson can also craft a variety of cosmetic camp upgrades. These don't unlock any new features, so craft them only if you wish to make the Van der Linde camp look different than before. Alligator Skull Perfect Alligator Skin Big Horn Ram Skull Perfect Ram Carcass Cougar Pelt Covered Chest 2 Perfect Cougar Pelts Boar Skin Table Cover Perfect Boar Pelt Ox Hide Rug 2 Perfect Ox Hides Boar Skin Rug 4 Perfect Boar Pelts Pronghorn Leather Table Tops 2 Perfect Pronghorn Hides Pronghorn Skull Perfect Pronghorn Carcass Moose Antlers Moose Antler Wolf Skull Perfect Wolf Carcass Snake Skin Banjo Head 2 Perfect Snake Skins Campfire Seat Cover Perfect Beaver Pelt, Perfect Muskrat Pelt, Perfect Fox Pelt Campfire Log Seat Cover Two Perfect Wolf Pelts Lean-to Cow Hide Ground Cover Perfect Cow Hide Scout Fire Ground Cover Two Perfect Goat Hides Elk Antlers Elk Antler Hanging Bones Buck Antlers Where To Find All Needed Materials Finding all the materials needed to craft all of these upgrades is a daunting task, as you need to be doing a lot of hunting, and you need to be good at it as well since you need perfect pelts, hides, skins, and carcasses. In order to get a perfect hide, pelt, skin, and carcass, you need to perform a perfect kill on animals that have a three-star rating, as they are the only ones that can drop perfect materials. To perform a special kill, you must kill the animal with the correct weapon and without damaging its body too much. As a general rule, small animals require the Varmint Rifle for perfect kills, medium-sized animals like deer the bow and arrow, and big animals rifles. You can check out our guide here for more information. To make gathering the materials required to craft all of Pearson's items, we will list the exact quantity needed and where to find the animal. Always remember that it has to be a three-star animal to get perfect materials, so make sure to analyze the animal beforehand while hunting to avoid wasting time. Perfect Bison Hide You will need a single perfect bison hide to craft all of Pearson's items. To get a perfect kill, you can use the Poison Arrow, with a single arrow aimed at the head, or get headshots with any rifle or sniper rifle. These animals can be found to the west of Blackwater, and in the Heartlands Overflow to the southwest of Annesburg. Perfect Boar Pelt You will need six perfect boar pelts to craft all of Pearson's items. Boars are found all over the Lemoyne region, near forested areas. To get a perfect kill, you can use regular arrows, poison arrows, rifles, and sniper rifles. Always go for headshots to avoid damaging the animal's body. Perfect Rabbit Pelt You will need one perfect rabbit pelt to craft all of Pearson's items. Rabbits are extremely common, and they can be found in most areas near Valentine, Strawberry, Rhodes and Saint Denis. The only way to perform a perfect kill on rabbits is by using the Varmint Rifle armed with 0.22 shells. Perfect Raccoon Pelt You will need one perfect raccoon pelt to craft all of Pearson's items. This animal is common in the Lemoyne, New Hanover and West Elizabeth regions. The only way to get a perfect kill on raccoons is by using the Varmin Rifle loaded with 0.22 shells Perfect Beaver Pelt You will need two perfect beaver pelts to craft all of Pearson's items. These animals are a bit tricky to find, as they are small and only spawn in a few very small areas, The best area to find them is near the E and R in New Hanover on the map. There are multiple ways to get a perfect kill on beavers: with the bow armed with arrow, repeaters, rifles and sniper rifles. Perfect Elk Pelt + Elk Antler You will need two perfect elk pelts and one elk antler to craft all of Pearson's items. These animals are common in the coldest areas of the map, specifically in the Ambarino region and to the north of Annesburg. Getting a perfect kill on elks is easy, as you can use poison arrows, rifles, and sniper rifles. Perfect Goat Hide You will need two perfect goat hides to craft all of Pearson's items. Wild goats are not that common, but they spawn quite often in an area a little to the north of Saint Denis, near the coast. To get a perfect kill on these animals, you can use the regular arrows, poison arrows, rifles, and sniper rifles. Always go for headshots to avoid damaging the animal too much. Perfect Fox Pelt You will need one single perfect fox pelt to craft all of Pearson's items. Foxes are quite common in Red Dead Redemption 2, and they tend to spawn in forested areas in Ambarino and Lemoyne. To get a perfect kill on a fox, you can use the bow with regular or poison arrows, repeaters, rifle, and sniper rifles. Perfect Cow Hide You will need a single perfect cow hide to craft all of Pearson's items. Cows are found in several different small areas all over the map, but the best area is the same one where goats spawn more often, to the north of Saint Denis, very close to the coast. To get a perfect kill on cows, you can use the bow with poison arrows, rifles, and sniper rifles Perfect Muskrat Pelt You will need just one perfect muskrat pelt to craft all of Pearson's items. This rodent is pretty common in several areas of the map, including areas to the north of Annesburg and to the west and south of Strawberry. The only way to get a perfect kill on a muskrat is by using the Varmint Rifle armed with 0.22 shots. Perfect Alligator Skin You will need one single perfect alligator skin to craft all of Pearson's items. These animals can only be found in the swamps surrounding Saint Denis, but they are quite common so it shouldn't be a problem to find them. To get a perfect kill on any alligator, you can use the bow with poison arrows, rifles, and sniper rifles. It may take more than a single shot to kill them with firearms, so you can use improved ammo to avoid damaging the animal too much. Perfect Snake Skin You will need two perfect snake skins to craft all of Pearson's items. Snakes can be found in several different areas, but the best one is near the road going from Saint Denis to the Van Horn Trading Post and Annesburg. You will need to flush them out, though, so use predator bait to make things easier. The only way to get a perfect kill on a snake is by using the bow with small game arrows. Perfect Wolf Pelt + Perfect Wolf Carcass You will need three perfect wolf pelts and a single perfect wolf carcass to craft all of Pearson's items. Wolves are quite elusive in Red Dead Redemption 2, and they can only be found in West Elizabeth and Ambarino. The area right above the "O" in Ambarino on the map is the best one to choose as hunting spot. To get a perfect kill on wolves, you can use the bow with regular or poison arrows, rifles, and sniper rifles. Perfect Pronghorn Hide + Perfect Pronghorn Carcass You will need two perfect pronghorn hides and one perfect pronghorn carcass to craft all of Pearson's items. These animals are extremely common in the New Hanover regions, especially in the areas next to the "New" in New Hanover on the map, and to the south of them, near Flat Iron Lake. To get a perfect kill on pronghorns, you can use the bow with regular or poison arrows,, rifles and sniper rifles. Perfect Iguana Skin You will need one perfect iguana skin to craft all of Pearson's items. These animals are quite rare, and they only appear in the northern part of the island on the eastern side of Flat Iron Lake. Once you reach the Epilogue, they can also be found all over the New Austin region. The Varmint Rifle with .022 rounds is the only way to get a perfect kill on iguanas. Perfect Panther Pelt You will need a single perfect panther pelt to craft all of Pearson's items. Panthers are very rare, and they only spawn in two specific areas: to the very south of Rhodes, near the river banks to the southeast of Braithwaite Manor and to the north of Saint Denis, slightly to the north of the "N" and "E" in Lemoyne on the map. To get perfect kills on panthers, you can use the bow with regular or poison arrows, rifles and sniper rifles. Perfect Buck Pelt + Buck Antler You will need one single perfect buck pelt and one buck antler to craft all of Pearson's items. Bucks are very common, and they can be found in the Lemoyne regions as well as in the northern parts of the New Hanover region, close to the border with Ambarino. You can use the bow with arrows and poison arrows, rifles and sniper rifles to get perfect kills on them. Perfect Ox Hide You will need two perfect ox hides to craft all of Pearson's items. Oxes are somewhat rare on the map, and they spawn only in select regions in the New Hanover and Lemoyne regions. The best hunting areas are directly to the north of Braithwaithe Manor and to the north and east of Rhodes. You can perform a perfect kill on oxes by using the bow with poison arrows, rifles and sniper rifles. Perfect Deer Pelt You will need seven perfect deer pelts to craft all of Pearson's items. Deer is one of the most common animals in the game, and you will find them near forested areas all over Lemoyne and the eastern part of Ambarino. To get a perfect kill on them, you can use the bow with regular or poison arrows, rifles and sniper rifles. Perfect Cougar Pelt You will need three perfect cougar pelts to craft all of Pearson's items. Cougars are quite rare, and they mostly spawn in select areas in New Austin, such as to the south of Blackwater, near the southwestern side of Flat Iron Lake and to the northwest of the "A" in New Austin on the map. They can also be found in a very small area near the border of the map a little to the southwest of the "W" in West Elizabeth on the map. To get a perfect kill on cougars, you can use the bow with regular or poison arrows, rifles and sniper rifles. Perfect Badger Pelt You will need a single perfect badger pelt to craft all of Pearson's items. These animals are extemely common in the Lemoyne region, near Rhodes and Braithwaite Manor. To get a perfect kill on a badger, you must use the Varmint Rifle armed with 0.22 shots. Perfect Squirrel Pelt You will need one perfect squirrel pelt to craft all of Pearson's items. These animals are common in all forested areas on the map, such as the forests near Strawberry, to the north of Annesburg, and in Ambarino and West Elizabeth. You need the small game arrow to perform a perfect kill on squirrels. Perfect Ram Carcass You will need just one perfect ram carcass to craft all of Pearson's items. Rams are easy to find in Ambarino and West Elizabeth, specifically in the areas close to the "West" on the map. To get a perfect kill on rams, you can use the bow with arrows or poison arrows, rifles and sniper rifles. Moose Antler You will need a single moose antler to craft all of Pearson's items. Mooses are quite rare, and they can be found to the west of Blackwater in West Elizabeth and to the north of Annesburg, in the areas close to the edge of the map. You need to kill mooses with the bow armed with poison arrows, rifles, and sniper rifles to get perfect kills. I really loved working my way through the hunting quests to get the Legend of the East satchel in which you can store sh*t loads of stuff. On my second playthrough I made it a priority and have it already.2 points

Below is exactly what they said on the subject. The first quote is what they originally stated and then the second is a follow up to help quell fears of a reset: https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/tags/716?page=2 The fact is that they never promised not to reset progress but they are also trying to avoid it if possible. Bottom line is they don't plan on it but it is still a possibility depending on what needs to be fixed/changed in the beta.1 point

^^^^^ ....this. I have only done two and been the target of one. One of our posse was targeted and we simply escaped. When I was the hunter, the first one resulted in the target coming after us after the time limit was up even though we disengaged (we never killed him in time). The second, we disengaged after killing the target but then they started coming after us after the event. This mission type breeds toxicity IMO / IME. It's not even worth it unless you're a troll looking for an excuse to grief other players. I simply don't do them when they pop up. However, I do enjoy the NPC assassinations where you have multiple targets, etc.1 point

I have been married to the same woman for 48 years. If I ask her what the weather is like her answer will be: "It's........(20 minutes later)....... and we need to take the dog to the vet." If she asks me the same question my answer is: "75 degrees." I am a "lets get to the point" kinda guy.....and she is not.🙂1 point

You cannot sell them(which is stupid). So feel free to use them liberally or just discard the ones you don't want.1 point

if i'm bored and wanting to lower my honor back to red after doing missions i use the Lancaster and semi-auto shotgun to go on a killing spree. You'd think the people in Van Horn would go into hiding when they see me riding into town with those equipped, considering how many times i've made Van Horn a ghost town1 point

But when you are playing the game for the first time and you dont know what the results will be of your actions, you kind of need to play the stranger quests. I love the game and didnt want to just blow thru it and miss anything. The games length isnt a real problem for me. Its just that another 5 hrs, before Chapter 6, seems like it would have not helped the story. A game like Fallout gets so big that one can forget that there is any real story to it. It turns into clearing the map and building tunnels. And I dont hate the Fallout series. I think that RD strongest attraction is its solid story line. Its more about the story than it is about the sandbox. It is a balanced blend of the two. Again, when you are playing a game for the first run thru you dont have the benefit of hindsight. You just try to do what you think the game wants you to do. Its the story tellers job to tell the story and the editors job to make sure it doesnt go off of the rails with details. Dont get things so convoluted with side quests as to loose the flow of the story for the sake of extending game play. You can extend game play with epilogues, add ons or a new game. But.....this is what keeps gamers gaming and forums foruming. if this game was a flop nobody would give two hoots who Mary was. In 7 years a bunch of people will be discussing Jacks relationship with Emma, the little flapper girl from Blackwater. Nobody will clearly remember the minutia from RD1 or RD2 but everyone will remember the story of Arthur Morgan. I love this game because I think the game is almost perfect just the way it is. Not one thing less or one thing more. But that, is just one mans opinion.🙂1 point

I'm not sure they have quite been that unequivocal (see the other thread where exactly what they have said has been pretty carefully unpacked by Bropollocreed - pinned in the main bit of the forum), unless there is new news, which I hope there is!1 point

They should have the equivalent of "loadouts" where we could have pre-stored selections that we hot swap on the fly. Give every player four slots to put pre-set card groupings that they could cycle through on either their weapons or items wheel.1 point

I encounter it periodically online in my travels. Haven't figured out the spawn pattern yet though.1 point

I have an iPhone X. The strategy guide is ok on it if you don’t mind a lot of zooming and scrolling (which annoys me very quickly). Having a pdf on a large screen might be better, but it’s good to mark off progress when I need to (and it won’t blank off on me after a few minutes either...)1 point
-
I ended up buying the hardback book, and very glad that I did. It’s a lot easier to use and I can mark off progress of items with a pencil (really handy for the cigarette cards)1 point

I'm totally ok with and agree with the missions paying less if they are completed in PVE/Private lobbies. But let's be real, shouldn't XP gains for shooting people that are not playing PVP be less as well? This is easy to monitor, XP only starts once both parties have fired on each other. Because if we're nerfing money on private lobby missions because it's less risk then we should definitely be nerfing XP for PVPrs that shoot people who are less of a risk because they aren't shooting back.1 point

Im a pvp player.. and I don't care if people want private lobbies. I support private lobbies and pve lobbies. But I also don't go around killing players for no reason. So this is probably why I don't care. I don't need to cheep shot players.1 point
-
Amen! This is so spot on that it is f*****g magical. PvP players should be forced to play with their likeminded players while I and others that prefer PvE should be able to enjoy online without getting murdered all the time.1 point
-
Same excuse every time from most of them: "PVE servers will ruin the game." I'd like to amend that vague statement to: "PVE servers will ruin the game for me because I prefer to shoot people who aren't prepared or have zero interest in shooting back." That about sums it up. PVE lobbies won't ruin this game anymore than having a story mode did. It's just a different section for a different way to play the game. The only thing that will change for the PVP community is that they will now be forced to play in lobbies with people who are looking to shoot them first.1 point

The so callt pvp players in RDRo ore not real pvp players, real pvp players my frend say's it clearly. Real pvp players hate autoiam/abilitycard nonsens. This so callt pvp players are just bad in real pvp games like Battlefield and go do pvp games in this game and think they are great players, but just are winning kids. Asspecialy when a pve player ask for those pve servers or private servers they starts to cry because they can't bully no one then. When i let my frend with my character do the pvp like showdown in RDRo he **** them up badly because off the abilitycard i have ( i'm high rank and have the good cards). Then it becomes to easy for him he told me ,in 20min he played the showdown serie he already new the respawnpionts and he can drop people like flies. But my frend is not a person how is gaming like that. He say's this pvp is just BS and did stop to play it and say's i'm not doing this pvp game anymore it just sucks. I think R* specialy made de game for winning bully's instead real pve and pvp players. Like GTA5 all over again. (But you can buy goldbars)1 point
-
I don't think PVP players see the point of PVE games as there isn't as much of a struggle. I have a love-hate relationship with PVP myself and I prefer to play in PVE games where it is you and other players vs everything else that is not player controlled.1 point
-
The love interest storyline and especially a second one would not be obligatory, so one as you would not need to play them. Even the little of love story or interaction we already have is entirely possible to skip. The complaint that the game is too long is not a really good point, just do not play the extras and focus on the story and you will miss tens of hours of fun. So I hope no one ever forced you to play the stranger quests and whatever!? A game like RDR2 with its great open world will never be less great by putting more optional “quests” and other activities in them. So an optional secondary cheesy love story would only have made the game even better, and I already love the game as it is awesome.1 point

I would submit your feedback to R* directly so they can check it out. Personally, I have not seen this happen as I had used the parley feature while the rest of my team attacked but then again, I only needed to use it twice in my life. TB was pandemic back then. More or less everyone had it but they never or very late in life got the symptoms of the disease. And the TB in the game is not really handled in a realistic way as Arthur get symptoms and... way too fast. So if R* wanted to have more alternatives in the story but with the same outcome, it would not have been difficult to do so.1 point

My wife knew I had MS she married me and she knew and still knows that my health can change rapidly. I have had many complications because of the MS but I am happy to be alive with my wife and two children. It is not the same as Arthur’s case in the game but people that are sick, even dying loves too. And stress, danger and warlike circumstances actually makes people having more sex and not less. So I still believe the story would have benefited from having a cheesy alternative love story.1 point

As stated before on the forum - the honour system could be used alongside with situational awareness on the map. This would link in with the bounty story you mentioned. Dishonourable players will be more easily seen on the map and indeed a small bounty depending on the amount of dishonour should be a thing to consider. I would say a maximum of 5 USD for max dishonour and when you get killed the bounty disappears until you raise attention negatively again or have a timer of 30 minutes before the bounty applies again. This is difficult however as I see potential boosting and such or loopholes in abusing this. I assume that that is the reason why Rockstar has not yet implemented such a thing.1 point
