Seriously, the main thing they need to overhaul is Cripps pitiful mustache, the thing is horrendous. 🤣3 points
-
So the question now is, why does he not defend the camp/you when other players invade your camp?3 points
-
Cripps does in fact defend the camp. Last night we were on heading to camp to restock ammo , while there a gang hideout spawned right next to our camp. The other posse members took it while I stayed in camp to restock. Npcs was all over me and I noticed cripps was blowing them away with his 6 shooter. Man what an awesome sight is was ! He will defend !3 points

Just and fyi.... Saw this posted on Twitter this morning: "In the Red Dead Online Beta, Tonics provide relief to the ill and injured and can boost your health, Dead Eye skills and stamina. Stay well supplied and stockpile for emergencies with a combination of Health Cures, Bitters, Snake Oil and Miracle Tonics, all 25% off this week."2 points

Yes sir ! We have 2 in our posse over level 100 with all the explosive stuff. Occasionally a young cow rustler will try his metal against a 7 Man posse and get owned real quick ! Lol we do not chase but rather draw a line in the dirt , if they continue we love to oblige ! Lol but as you said normally they look at our levels and go a different route !2 points

All great solutions to the issue you have, but also there is the option of joining up with a posse or crew, I've noticed when ee have a decent/big group people dont tend to shoot on site, bug us or even troll/grief us.2 points

Best thing to do is spawn well away from where you want to be and then fast travel to your chosen destination. The game unfortunately is designed to spawn you in areas populated by other players by default.2 points
-
Its based on the number of posts. IIRC, it's after 100 posts then maybe 500 and 1000. You're at 94 right now as far as I can tell. I don't recall the specifics though.2 points

Hi Folks. Older UK based player looking to posse up. Kinda new to online gaming so don't have established online friend base. Happy to go with consensus in posse regarding activities and play style (although not into randomly griefing people as it feels like bullying, but more than happy to persecute anyone who griefs me or mine!!). Just like to have some fun with it really. I use a headset to chat a bit while playing. I'm up to Lvl42 but still learning how to win PvP regularly, but getting there. My PSNiD is Smudger691, so please feel free to add me as friend so I can join when your'e on.1 point

Lately, whenever I play online, I end up on servers with loads of people. Normally I would be happy about this but as of now, it just increases the odds of me being screwed over by trolls and griefer groups. I don't know if there is a specific setting or anything I can do to go on servers with less people.1 point

Howdy all I'm in the North East of the UK. I came on looking for tips mainly. My wife got me the game for Christmas on xbox. Wasn't sure if I wanted it. Open world games are not my thing. I couldn't wait for battlefield v. Problem is I put rdr2 in to give a try and haven't stopped lol. I've got other games from Christmas to even load up but just can't stop playing this. I'm only lvl 18 but grinding stranger missions as I can't wait to start legendary fishing at lvl Apart from being killed constantly by griefers I'm loving this game.1 point

Had the same problem and solved it! I went to the small saloon at night, where I found John. However, I was unable to speak to him and start the mission. So I started antagonizing other people at the saloon, which of course resulted in a fight. John Marston, being a loyal friend and gangmember, fled as fast as he could. Next day, he was standing in the sheep farm and I was able to start the mission1 point

Building stuff for furniture solutions is getting to be a lost art. Nice to hear someone who still does. I prefer to build when I can, it's always a better fit. When I built my book shelves it cost me about 150.00 bucks. If I had purchased them at ikea it would have been 900.00 and they wouldn't have fit nearly as well.1 point

I was on my phone at the time so I didn't even bother looking for the details. There's a lot more than I ever noticed.1 point

Not 100 % sure on this but I've noticed if the sever you spawn in to is full , go into a horse race , PvP , or story mission and when it's over it changes the one you respawn in ? So either it's switching servers or all the people that were there are now doing something else. Try that bro. Only other suggestions would be posse up and give em hell !1 point
-
I'm pretty sure it's because upon logging out he packs up your camp releasing the spot so it can be used. When you log back in he has to set it up again. And not always in the same spot if someone in that session is using it. So that's part of why it moves sometimes upon logging in.1 point

Yea, that part I'm just going to chalk up to beta and hope they add properties soon.lol1 point

So, aside from not having lumbago, Cripps is pretty much as useful as Uncle. What do you think R* should do to make him less......useless? He's an old grizzled cowboy, I'd like to see him act that way. A few tweaks that I think would help: Camp defense - He fires warning shots when people stop outside your camp, maybe even yells at them. It'd be nice to hear a voice. He shoots at anyone (NON POSSE/NON FRIEND) that comes into your camp with weapons or lasso drawn. He also shoots any (NON POSSE/NON FRIEND) who approaches your horse. Stew pot - Have it so we can donate food to the cause and he makes a stew that we can eat, ALL DAY. Horse care - Having him brush and feed your horse when it's in camp makes sense. Up-gradable - Make it so we can buy him better guns and make it so we have to buy him ammo. Animal scout - Allow him to put a marker on the map for the specific animal we are looking to hunt I think these would make the Cripps and the camp more useful to us. AND, R*, this is stuff we'd need money and gold for......so...yea.1 point

Or it was an intentional effort by R* to encourage you to play the online game and buy gold bars. I'm certain that was behind the decision to give Arthur a disease rather than kill him off in the last chapter. Had we been able to play a healthy Arthur all the way until the last mission many of us just wouldn't have completed it. Or saved the game and gone back to that point. R* made sure we didn't have that option so they could sell us gold bars, I'm sure they also planned to have RDRO completed by then, which didn't happen1 point

I spent a good hour last night with a friend of mine messing with these 3 players. I think they must have been like 10 to 13 in age. My friend convinced them he knew a secret to get a ton of gold but you had to do a mix of stuff and had to travel in a group of 5. He had these kids doing all these stunts and then at the end, he just shot the three of them. I was laughing so hard I pulled a muscle.1 point

This is just me... I like to hunt Pronghorn and deer, as sometimes you get two or three pieces of meat per kill. You can carry a max of 20, and you can usually get that in 10 to 15 minutes if you go to the right places. It will sell for $12 for 20 pieces of meat.. And that is not including the pelts, and antlers if you're lucky enough to get a couple of white tail bucks. Including the pelts, I made $80 in an hour today. The biggest challenge is getting to the butcher without getting disconnected. Actually, if you get disconnected at least you still have the meat. Big game is worth $0.75 just for the meat not including the pelts. Harder to find though. Pronghorns and deer are a little more plentiful from what I've seen. Hope this helps.1 point

If someone issues a purge, you shoot first and ask questions later. In all seriousness, I only shoot people first if I can tell they are gunning for me or looking for trouble.1 point

Never Without One Card or any card bothers me as explosive ammo will take them out with one shot. I use Slow And Steady & I'm not a griefer if we see a single player on a mission that's being attacked we help them out.1 point

Here's all we currently know about what is to come: https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/60828/Red-Dead-Online-Beta-Update-Jan-25-2019 Anything else about time frames, etc. is pure speculation at this point. The simply fact is that there is no official release date for the next TU and any potential fixes in between (if any). If there is any hope to some of the common issues some folks are experiencing, I suspect that they will likely be in the TU.1 point

Yup! More for Cripps/ camp: Coffee Pot. Cards. Banjo / Harmonica. Camp Dog. Stew. Meat Rack: (Seen in other camps) Hang 2-3 carcasses up that automatically contribute to camp food stash/ stew. Pelt Refining Station: (Seen in camps) Stretch and cure pelts to increase quality only 1 time. (Poor -> good or good -> perfect) Costing materials like alcohol or something. Crafting Workshop: (also seen in large camps) Tons of potential. Crafting system? Modify guns? Clean guns with more efficient use of gun oil. Build horse addons or wagon upgrades for storing more carcasses etc. Camp guards and Weapons (spotted Guns reserved for camp guards in campaign). Requiring a higher upkeep. Up to 15 camp guards. but no White Flag allowed (?).. to expand on camp upkeep: Property / Claimable Gang Hideouts should cost the gang up to about $60 a day. That assumes there would be a stash box for everyone to contribute to. Allowing large posses to give different members roles like hunting, missions, robberies etc. Worth mentioning more on the subject of Gang Hideouts with pre-existing stations being claimable: After beating a gang hideout you could - "Clear bodies into a yellow zone outside to claim camp". Some Hideouts spawn entire camps with structures (the same way player camps do.. appearing/disappearing..) so why not make them claimable for the duration of being online. Providing Some free camp stations. Lots of variety in these already. Some with just stew and pelt stations. Or workshop and stable etc. To go further I'd say grant players a reward of getting free camp guards for claiming a hideout but also make them attackable at all times (making it like any Gang Hideout). You get free stations, at a high price. If you are away from camp and you didn't hire extra guards or leave posse members to guard, you may just lose it. I think it could work. (Not allowed to move camp if players have engaged your posse or guards). It may seem unfair to be attackable at all times but I would add that there needs to be incentive for being attackable / lowering the white flag (as my posse always does) Failing to attack and raid/loot a player camp should punish the attacker like by making their bodies lootable and actually taking 10$ away from them if the other players loot them. And spawn them very far away. Just some thoughts.1 point

I think they already gave us the answer about what to expect in the next TU but yeah, I'm expecting bug fixes, the new player blips, parley changes, law and bounty improvements, daily challenges, etc. ......although I really doubt any of that will come this month.1 point

Just a helpful tip.... You might want to include your platform in your profile and/or the thread title, etc. Also, your time zone might be appropriate when talking about times you may be playing as we have community members from all over the world here.1 point

If you ever want to attempt building your own, just go on YouTube. There are some really good DIY builders on there. I can't remember the name of the dude I watch. I am planning on building an entire set of office furniture this summer. Desk, bookshelves, storage drawers, and so on.1 point

I used the In Game camera (online mode), then i uploaded it to rockstars social club in game (in the menu options). As for Screenshots on the actual Xbox i go on the PC and just right click and Save As to my desktop. hope this helps1 point

I really hate horseman 9 challenge.1 point

Thought I was being fair in my post. I wasn't dismissing the problem, quite the opposite. As for reporting, my point was that anyone who has had the problem even in rare cases like me should submit a trouble ticket with R* Support. The more people that do, the more it will become apparent to R* that this is more widespread problem than perhaps they will admit. We can all talk about it in forums but we should also be encouraging everyone affected to submit their own support tickets to help drive change. https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/115001624507?redirect_lang=en_us&_ga=2.208315153.2089949603.1549386144-1719606522.15252873561 point

I think you may have hyperactivity issues. Don't you like to breathe between games? Let the adrenaline levels dip just a bit? Don't you like to check out the competition, make value judgements about their sad lives and cutting comments about their sad clothes? I know I do... You want me to saddle up, hunt, pick some seasoning, cook my supper, AND have a free-for-all before bedtime..? Oh! And it's not even bedtime, it's back into another game! You young'uns...1 point

I’ve actually found cougars sitting up on higher ground than the roads in the Roanoak area and out past strawberry. Not in the marker on the map but close by. Roanoak for example has a lot of turkeys, it’s almost like the cougars watch the small game and then attack you when spotted. I used cover sent and went out on foot in the evening and took my time hunting and watching my every move (really into it) and eagle eye about every 30 seconds and almost every time I’ve found them tracking/stalking smaller game or sitting on logs.1 point

Well , the good news is that R* isn't using use P2W models in GTA nor RDO. Also, they've already stated that the only things locked behind GBs in RDO will essentially be cosmetic. Other items that can be bought with gold are also purchasable with in-game cash so if anything, RDOs MTX model is one that is a "pay to shortcut" but definitely not P2W. All things considered, I don't think we have anything to worry about in that respect.1 point

I'm thinking the campsites work like the yachts did in in GTAO. My yacht was always in a new spot. If you log into a server it will try and put you into the same spot as when you played last, including where your camp was. This changes though if someone is already in the server in that camp location. There are limited fixed spaces, so it moves you to another, random location, which is super annoying. Campsites, unlike properties, are different because they can be accessed by anyone, so we can't inhabit the same location. Properties can have multiple people using them at the same time. I'm hoping once they add properties that this will stop being an issue for us.1 point

I don't understand why they allow other players to know where you will spawn back in. I have gotten killed and lassoed a number of times thanks to this. You should at least have a 30 to 60 second window of time before you can be attacked.1 point

I also get angry when the camp moves by itself. but I get even more angry when I decide to move it to a region and find it somewhere else. another thing that I have already reported is that if I disconnect from the game inside my camp, why when I return to the game I find myself at least 500 meters from the camp ???1 point

I try not to buy things I can make at home. The upshot is, as a taller person, I can make things that work for my frame instead of buying off the shelf, and I can get it to look exactly how I want it to right out of the gate. Wood is surprisingly easy to use as a construction material with minimal training, and is very forgiving with a little bit of patience, trial and error. I actually built my own chair to sit in for gaming out of a wooden ceiling beam scrap leftover from when my folks had an addition put on their house 20+ years ago that was just lying around. Stain and poly with 1/2" black steel pipe fittings to make the arms, legs, and back all fit me comfortably. Built in a lumbar support with the pipe and some U-joints, and padded the arm and back rests with pipe insulation that was then covered with custom made covers that have Velcro seams so they can be washed as needed. Spray paint the pipe fittings and flanges with matte black finish and then secure them to the wood with screws, and I have a heavy duty chair ready to go. I've built tons of stuff for my house, storage lockers, coffee tables, and more. A desk, depending on the design and utility you are looking for, would be a fairly straightforward project. If you have the means and access to tools, you could probably build a decent computer desk for $50-$100 in lumber and hardware (stain, wood glue, screws, etc...). Depending on your level of comfort attempting something like that, a few hours of planning will go a long way to making something you'll take a lot of pride in.1 point

Thousands gathered in the Saint Denis cemetery this weekend past to pay respects to the fallen Police Officers of Saint Denis. After putting together witness recounts and evidence recovered at the scene we’ve learned that the notorious outlaw Arthur Morgan arrived in Saint Denis early Saturday morning. He conducted business with the Trapper and Fence, then went into the Saint Denis gunsmith where an 18 hour standoff ensued and a staggering number of officers were killed. Eye witnesses near the Trapper and Fence recount “he looked sick, pale and unsteady on his feet”, another stated “he was coughing a bit, and somewhat irritable at a feller that asked if he was okay”. An eye witness at the gunsmith told one reporter “He wasn’t happy looking when he went into the gunsmith. He ran from his horse into the shop, throwing the doors open. I ducked my head down below the window, I didn’t want to be seen. I could hear him talking to the gunsmith. The gunsmith said something about keeping his weapon clean. It escalated from there. More shouting, I covered my ears, and then through my hands I heard a shotgun blast. We all screamed and ran.” The last witness recounting of the incident is thus; “I was walking along, heading past the gunsmith on the opposite side of the street and heard a gunshot. I ran to the opening in the fence beside me and hid there behind the stone base of the fence. After that first gunshot I heard police whistles and thought to myself ‘oh good, they’ll handle it’. But I stayed hidden, i was too scared to move so as i didn't get shot too. The police were yelling at someone in the gunsmith, then more shots rang out, then it got quiet, really quiet. A minute or so later I hear running footsteps going into the gunsmith and more shooting. Then it got really quiet again. That scary quiet like when there’s a bear near you in the woods. So I peaked over the stone base of the fence and saw all these dead policemen. I panicked and ran, I’ve never been so scared in my life!” Our evidence collaborates their stories. On that tragic morning Arthur Morgan argued with the gunsmith, then shot the gunsmith in the head with his shotgun. Police were notified and in their haste they rushed into the gunsmith only to be shot dead in the doorway. It is believed Mr. Morgan hid in the back of the gunsmith, using the wall as cover, shooting anyone that ran in or in front of the doors. It’s believed he was waiting for more police to arrive. This stand off lasted about 18 hours. At approximately 2am Mr. Morgan gunned down the officers at the doorway, then ran off down an alley. He had a horse waiting and fled through the streets and alleys. Officers chased him, and killed his horse we believe was named Buell, as that name was stamped on the bridle's nose strap. Mr. Morgan then shot an innocent rider in the head, stole his horse and fled through the fields into the swamp, escaping the pursuing officers. A 3 day manhunt in the swamp turned up nothing, but 2 squads of dead officers. Mr. Morgan must have heard them, and then hid in cover and picked them off. All officers in both squads were shot in the head. Evidence collected counts the dead as follows – 208 Saint Denis police officers, Ms. Pergot, an innocent who must have ran passed the opened gunsmith and was shot, Mr. Samuels, the unfortunate victim riding his horse in the wrong place and time, and Mr. Morgan's horse Buell. Investigators have recovered 240 spent shotgun shells in the back of the gunsmith, and 30 revolver casings.1 point

It on'y happened with this one player that I've seen, but I really don't parlay often so I'm not a good gauge. No murmurs about this on any of the forums that I've seen. Hopefully it stays that way and gets patched after the parlay upgrades hit.1 point

Unfortunately i have chat ingame switched off can't stand hearing all the music and sh...t that other players spam out all the time But surely 1 player riding into town loaded with pelts isnt a threat to you and your posse, if came at your posse then fine but why kill needlessly and why carry on chasing and killing when they ride off away from you, Ive had a full posse do this first one player kills me 3 times, I then use parley but then another member starts and so on I end up spending more time reloading into new lobbies than i do playing the game and then finaly just shut it down because session have been ruined yet again1 point

Good points. I'd like to add though that I've seen far more cougars in the northeast coenwr of the map ( north and west of Annesburg ). But I agree that predator bait and hiding is pointless while hunting cougars. THEY HUNT YOU! So no cover scent lotion.1 point
