Ok so I`ve seen "Justified" a couple of times and yeah I know a bit about the hillbilly-culture out west but I didn`t really know to much about Appalachia until I recently stumbled over this "Appalachian storyteller" at youtube. Facinating part of the US`s history, worth looking up! But once again this game impresses. There is of course an Appalachian community in this game; from Butchers Creek and up to Beaver Hollow. An area where you`ll have to keep your gun loose in it`s holster, ready for anything. You can place you`re camp up there but you better sleep with one eye open..3 points

So the new missions they added recently involve some cool things. I love the throwback they hint at with this stuff and I think the quote above is right, Undead Nightmare is still the best expansion to date in all of their games. That being said, since this is just Volume 1, we should expect another after this. Maybe more than one. Who knows! I am pretty hyped! I am working on playing through the missions this week.2 points

For anyone wondering about the featured series this month, I am making a list here so you know which dates are for which modes. I am also posting it here for my own reference, makes it easier for me to check lol July 1-7: Hardcore Pro Series July 8-14: Elimination Series Large July 15-21: Hardcore Showdown Series July 22-28: Hardcore Plunder and Spoils of War Series July 29-August 4: Hardcore Last Stand2 points

I don't know if it is just mine or what but he is annoying to ride and any little thing spooks him and makes him run away. I have had this happen in the middle of shootouts and he wouldn't come back. Always trips too when riding. Like I maxed out bonding and everything but the horse just never improved for me. I read that these were some of the funnest horses to use and it has been a nightmare for me lol2 points

Buy it for him? Online I think is only $20. If you can spare it, that would be a good way to get him to play it since it would be free for him. lol Like if someone bought me a game I would be inclined to at least try it.2 points

This for me as well. Those missions were insane. Like I was shocked how dark the game got coming off of GTA 4. I was not prepared for it lol I still find RDR1 to be the better of the two in terms of story, characters, and just raw emotion.2 points
-
Just for the stranger missions alone, RDR1 takes the cake. I mean those were DARK. And the ending of the game honestly broke my heart. Not in a bad way, it was just very emotional for me. I didn't get the same connection with RDR2's story. It was good don't get me wrong but man I felt like John Marston was a friend of mine.2 points

Yeah it sucks cause I actually prefer RDR2 online vs GTA 5 online. I just don't see this game getting anything major for it outside of an upgrade for the graphics and maybe some new edition that includes some stuff for the newer consoles.2 points

RDR2 the complete game that includes Online is going for $14.99 https://store.steampowered.com/app/1174180/Red_Dead_Redemption_2/ RDR Online (without the story) is on sale for $9.99 https://store.steampowered.com/app/1404210/Red_Dead_Online/1 point

So from what I have been seeing and hearing, it would appear a "new" release for Switch 2 is happening but when it comes to the Series S/X and PS 5, we should only be expecting a patch. Either way, a patch big enough to fix the FPS and other issues is huge. Considering we finally got new missions makes me think they are prepping and trying to get more people back online.1 point

If anyone was waiting to play or hoping it would come to Xbox, it will be soon. On August 26th, it will be added. Not sure if this is going to be cross-platform or not when it is added. But I am excited to be playing it either way. Played for like 20 min at a friends and have wanted to play it since.1 point

I would probably get about 1.5 buildings in and quite. I have no attention span for something like this. Any time I do anything in Minecraft, I download it in terms of builds. I am going to have to give this a test run.1 point
-
Maybe I am on the outside of this trend but I am personally sick of seeing every other game or anime became some live action BS. Like Minecraft was a bit much. I think it is fine cause it is more a less a kids' film but the more serious adult games... no. Just leave them alone. The Last of Us proved why this is a bad idea. The first season was good but the second season was trash and that kind of lined up with the games. I don't want RDR to get ruined.1 point

I know a fair bit of the history of the old west in America and yeah, they pulled from some good parts. They really must have had an entire team just doing historic research. I love to see it.1 point
-
I was just looking online. I did check in the store and it absolutely is there. I don't know what made me think it wasn't. I just assumed only the story was on the newer consoles, not the actual online end but yeah it is there lol My bad!1 point
-
I think they look at profits more than players. GTA 5 obviously brought them in more money and probably continues to even though it is an older game than this one.1 point
-
Yeah me too for some reason. Maybe they did like you said and it just didn't get finalized, idk. I could have sworn they worked on a different title though. Like I remember watching a video on the history of the company.1 point

I wouldn't mind going back to Jack Marston and having a story that focuses on his life. I also wouldn't mind if they introduced another character in another area and have some overlap ties from both games. Not sure what time period they would choose. RDR 2 is in 1899 and RDR 1 is in 1911. So maybe they decide to go further back in time again or we see Jack adjust into the world where the American frontier is quickly fading away.1 point
-
Yeah they stopped doing updates and adding to the game a number of years ago. Which is sad. It had the traction. I think when online launched, they couldn't get the issues under control fast enough and since they were already focusing on GTA 6, it just got shuffled to the side.1 point
-
I never heard of Rockstar owning Rare games so this is a first lol I didn't think GTA was their first game though. I could have sworn it was something else. Maybe something that was never published? I might be thinking of a completely different studio though.1 point

I miss playing with people and I have a few friends that would play online IF we didn't have to deal with hackers. Like anytime I go online, I just get harassed, so do they which is why they stopped playing the game. Tons of people stopped because of it. Is there any way we can convince Rockstar to add invite sessions to only play with friends?1 point
-
So you have a horse but can't access it?? Did you add a saddle to the horse? This makes it your primary horse. Other wise you need to use a lasso and take it to a stable. There is also a glitch/bug that happens where people's horses randomly disappear. Not sure if this was fixed or not but it could have happened. Try taming another horse and putting a saddle on it.1 point

It is more chill for sure. I guess certain aspects are exciting but for me that part wore off awhile ago. Now I just play this game when I want to relax. Just sucks online is terrible since other players like to terrorize you lol1 point
-
This is the one I was going to mention. It was the first mod I used and I have stuck with it since. It just makes the game so much better imo. Like I can't even play without it enabled.1 point
-
I can't bring myself to play RDR1 on Switch and definitely won't be able to play RDR2 on it either. It just feels like it would be lacking something that makes it the masterpiece that it truly is.1 point
-
Why would anyone just buy online when you can get the story for another $5? I mean even if you don't end up playing it, you might eventually. lol I might snag it just to have it while it is on sale. I don't know if it will be enjoyable to play on PC for online tho.1 point
-
Start with Rampage Trainer. It is probably one of if not the most popular mod people use for this game. It basically allows for you to make all kinds of adjustments and tweaks including adding your own cheats. It is a lot of fun. Ped Damage Overhaul is another I recommend. It makes the NPCs react more realistically.1 point
-
The game obviously has a dedicated fanbase and could have easily improved that with even a portion of the support they show GTAV, but alas..... RDR2/O was a big success for R* and would have been an even larger "feather-in-the-cap" for most other developers. Why they chose not to expand further on it and pull nearly all support while they work on GTA6 is beyond me. .....but then RDR1 was also never fully nurtured either. I was always hoping for a Red Dead Nightmare 2 or at least an enhanced edition for PS5/XB among other things.1 point
-
This is what I think will end up being the case. I can't see them porting over to PS5/Xbox Series because the current one works good enough. Unless they think there is a chance they'd make a profit from it, they won't touch it. Switch 2 can make a good profit for them as Nintendo players haven't experience the game yet.1 point
-
I don't remember this being an issue. I started playing the game again recently and made a new character and he honestly looks pretty good when I was making him but soon as I got online, it seems like he was downgraded or something. He went from looking like a chad to a meth addict lmao Is this an issue for everyone? I can't figure out what the heck happened.1 point
-
There is a nexus mod you can use that makes it so your in a session with only friends but because this is using a mod online, it can result in you getting banned. I wouldn't risk it because of that. I mean we can keep pestering Rockstar to add the option to have invite-only sessions like in GTA online but at this point, I don't know if they will add it. I think if the game does come out for the Switch 2 though, they might end up adding it. Fingers crossed they do it for all consoles and PC though.1 point
-
Well, until they add the option for unrestricted "invite-only" sessions like they finally did on GTAV, I really don't see how to avoid others if you're looking to play the full RDO experience. ...but I'm on PS5 and not PC so there may be something you can do that I'm not aware of.1 point

What is your evidence that Micah isn't a rat? I mean one is his main nicknames is quite literally "Rat". And also "Snake". Would you say he is more of a snake than a rat? lol1 point

Yeah it seems most logical to wait and there is a chance it will be part of some kind of special where you can play it for cheaper or even free at first.1 point
-
I just don't get this though cause like on Steam alone, there are still 40k+ people playing the game. Not including the people that play on console. I feel like they should have kept up with it more. I don't think we had any good update for it since like 2022 (??) maybe.1 point
-
I think this is the case for me too. Like GTA is fun and all, don't get me wrong but RDR is so much more relaxing and exciting at the same time. It doesn't help that I hate city life either lol1 point
-
I mean you could probably convince him to play when the updated version comes out. Get him hyped about it now. I am guessing he was bummed about the GTA 6 delay, sell it to him as a game he can play until that comes out!1 point

I know a lot of people drag rockstar for doing these remasters but I personally am looking forward to this one. We have no official announcement though do we? Like from rockstar themselves??1 point
-
I had this happen to me and didn't know what was wrong. I ended up trying again the next day and it worked. So I mean if it is still giving you issues, you could try reaching out to rockstar. I think in my case it was a save file issue that sorted itself out.1 point

Hey y’all, Been riding solo for a while now and figured it's about time to build a proper crew. I go by the name Eli “Red” Mason in-game, and I’ve been roaming the frontier for a good while now — hunting, trading, the occasional bounty (and maybe a few misadventures on the wrong side of the law 😅). I'm on PC, usually online evenings (EST), and looking to form a laid-back, mature posse that’s all about having a good time without taking things too seriously. I’m not into griefing randoms or drama. Just want a small group of folks who enjoy the world of RDO — whether it’s running trader deliveries, fishing up in the Heartlands, or just drinking ourselves into oblivion in Valentine and waking up in Saint Denis with no memory of how we got there 😂 Mic or no mic, doesn’t matter. I’m chill either way — just be cool, respectful, and bring your own flavor to the table. If you’re into casual roleplay, even better. I’ve got a background story for my character but nothing too strict — more for fun than anything. Reply here or shoot me a message if you're down to ride. Let’s see what kind of legends we can carve out in the Wild West 🤠 — Red1 point

I was watching a video on rdr2 and they had posted the full guide you would have gotten with the Ultimate edition or one of those editions of the game. Soon after this appeared online, it disappeared and hasnt been seen or available, I was skeptical that this was even it, but I can 100% confirm that it is and it works. This is the link to download the pdf, get it while it remains. <Redacted> If there is any problem with sharing this, then I apologize and please take it down. That is a link to download the guide, here is a link to the page within you tube where you can see a video and the link for yourself if you prefer. <Redacted> I was very happy to open it this morning and see that in fact it is a complete guide 346 pages covering everything from the game both single player and Online.1 point

The only way to get south of Blackwater that I know of and not be hunted, is to play the chapter 3 mission, I think it is chapter 3, where you go to Bronte's mansion to get JAck back, in that mission one of the tasks you have to complete is search the cemetery and not be seen, But if at some point you are seen by police, yet you still escape and live, to finish the mission, afterwards when it is all over, for some reason, you can then travel to Blackwater or any other part of New Austin and nobody will hassle you. Now I read that this was patched, so I am not sure if you can still do this or not. When I did it, it worked perfectly. UPDATE: So once I got to the epilogue and was able to free roam, I had some mail, and it was the invite from Gil, which is odd, since John never met Gil, or sent him any fish. anyway, the story went on as it should and left me as John at Rio Bravo. SO I guess R* never recorded script from Arthur in case anyone did this, and the game is a bit linear in that respect as far as this fishing legendary fish is concerned. Im sure even though they had the budget and time allowances they had, that they still woudl have loved more time and more money, the game as awesome as it is, has many areas where I think hmm it woudl be nice if... and then I think, I bet they wanted that, but..... I cant wait to see what the future holds.1 point

Howdy Strangers! Welcome to the forum. While you’re here, you’re welcome to kick off yer boots, take a load off, and enjoy some conversatin’ by the campfire. We love a good discussion. However, what we don’t like is folks being less-than-friendly-like to each other. So here’s a list of rules we all need to abide by while visitin’ the forum. The Important Stuff Be neighborly: First and foremost, if you find yourself typing something you yourself wouldn’t be happy to read were it directed toward you, we suggest a re-write The Law: We do have some lawmen ‘round these parts. You can identify ‘em by the words Administrator or Moderator under their usernames in posts and on their profiles. They’re here to help, but what they say goes. You’re free to disagree, but since they’ll be respectful to you, the same is expected in return. Don’t post unless ya got somethin’ to say: Your “post count” is intended to be an accurate representation of your activity here. Don’t post for no reason – that includes “bumping” a thread that’s dead and buried. If you have something to say, say it. Any comment that just reads “bump” will be promptly deleted. And any spam posts will get ya run outta town. Harassment/hate posts: Any hate speech or deliberate harassing/bullying on this forum is cause for an immediate banning from the forum. Context or intent does not matter – don’t do it. If you’re quoting something or someone and need to indicate such types of words, abbreviations, splat marks (****) and other indications are generally fine, but if they are used in place of a hate word directed toward another user, the consequences will be the same. Bullying/trolling: No one likes a fun ruiner, so don’t ruin ours. We’re all here because we have a common interest. Let’s focus on that interest. When your interest shifts to trying to derail a discussion or throw insults at folks, that’s when we step in. If you’re confused, see the first bullet point. If this type of behavior is observed, we encourage members to use the “Report Post” button. Advertising/soliciting/self-promotion/selling/trading: Your purpose in joining our community should not be to sell or trade items/services, promote or advertise your site, social media, Youtube videos, etc. Forum contributions made for those reasons will be deleted and are cause for an immediate ban. Legitimate recommendations and external sources of information/help/entertainment etc are of course permitted, but just make sure your mentioning them for the right reasons. Name and shame: Please don't be tempted to"name and shame" or call out other players in Red Dead Online that you might have had a dispute or other issue with. We don't allow those sorts of posts. Spoilers: Don't potentially ruin the game for others by posting spoilers without some sort of warning. We have spoiler tags that you can use within your post too. See this thread. Well! Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s look at a few other smaller items. Say Howdy: We have a fancy little area called “Introduce Yourself,” and it’s expected of newcomers. After you’ve read these rules, we ask that you stop by that area and tell us a little about yourself. Doesn’t have to be much, just so’s we can get to know ya a bit. After that, post and comment away! Announcements & Stickies: Important posts can be labeled by The Law as an “Announcement” or a “Sticky.” That means you should read ‘em. Think of it as a Town Hall meetin’. Make sure you review it. No alias, secret or duplicate accounts: We know some folks think it’s funny to create a second account and pretend to be someone else. We also know other folks like to create multiple accounts to side-step bans. Regardless of intent, multiple accounts are not allowed. If you’re found to have more than one account, you’ll likely be shown the door on all of ‘em. No airin’ of private matters: If you receive a PM, the details of that PM are between you and them. If it’s violating rules, you can share it with an Admin or a Mod. Don’t copy/paste or post screenshots of private messages. No illegal activity: No talking about pirated or other illegal or prohibited content, cracks, hacks, torrents or anything of the sort. Same goes for any other illegal content or activity. You will be banned immediately and, if necessary, the authorities notified. Repeated username tagging: We understand when something’s important to you. But you won’t evoke change by constantly commenting about a change you want in the game and tagging every moderator, administrator, and developer every time. These folks are busy tendin’ to a whole lot of other issues. When you repeatedly tag them for yours, it’s more muck for them to trudge through, and, in turn, makes them slower to respond. One will do, thanks! Search before creating new threads: ‘Round these parts, we like to keep things tidy. That said, one thing we don’t take kindly to is having 14 threads about the exact same thing. Then you have 14 conversations and people having to repeat their thoughts in each. Do a search for what you want to talk about. (It may help to filter your search to just the “Content titles only”) If there’s a similar thread – even if it’s old – post your comment there, and it’ll circulate that thread, and thus, your comment, back to the top of the “Activity” page. If there’s not a similar thread, then you can make a new one. Note that, in order to keep things tidy, Mods and Admins can (and most certainly will) take the liberty to merge a redundant thread into the existing one, or just close/delete the thread altogether. The Search field is your friend, Friend. Double/Multi-posting: Speaking of “keepin’ things tidy,” seeing the same user post two, three, eight times in a row in the same thread is just not tidy. So, if you’re the last one to post in a thread and want to post something else, just click the Edit button at the bottom of your last comment, and add it there. You can even copy/paste other people’s quotes into edits to address more than one comment. (Just make sure you “select all” when doing this.) You can post a fresh comment again after someone else posts. This also helps prevent endless thread-bumping. Don’t be sneaky: These rules are here for a reason. You’re expected to follow them, not try to get around them. We’re happy to give reminders for oversights, but if you just won’t abide by these rules and repeatedly try to find ways around ‘em, well – we don’t take too kindly to that. Attempts to circumvent established rules will not be tolerated.1 point
