*Camps* (Discussions of Issues Since Summer Update)

the funniest thing of all is that even if cripps doesn't appear on the map he is actualy on. i figured that yesterday when there was no camp on my map but suddenly i got the message that "production halted". when i managed to bring him back up the delivery quest was ready to start. this means that cripps was working even if i had no camp up (camp was actualy up but there wasn't on map and the terrain). Moreover when production halt message popped there was this hold the options button(ps4) prompted. So i pressed the button and it took me to the place where cripps was on the map. There was no camp of course but i decided to pay a visit to the location and when i got there i saw another player's camp instead of mine. So that means that servers cannot manage to hold more than one camp nearby each other. Waiting patiently for the fix.

I really wish they would incorporate a way to use your binoculars to scope out camp locations and when you see a valid one to allow you to tell cripps or place a placeholder and then establish your camp. I hate not having a way to consistently place down a camp with mechanics that require you to have your camp established. Also why is it that there are not enough spots for a full lobby to have their camps out its wild. Just another reason that R* should allow private/invite only lobbies.

I found that Cripps is unlikely to set up a camp in area that already has 1, 2 or more other player camps... I look for next best area and ask him to set up again. 9/10 times works for me.

I have the same problem with setting up camp. I have found if you select an area for your camp you are not currently in with your character it usually works better. This issue seems to be less of a problem (at least for me) in the past few days.

I reported this problem to them directly via email and they gave me some instructions to follow involving reforming a posse with just me in then setting down camp, this also does NOT work and I've let them know too. 

 

This bug for me is a game breaker and I won't be playing online until it is resolved. Instead of bringing out new content they should be resolving the existing bugs first and foremost. The $2 setup cost is also stupid for the camp. Especially when it only lasts for 5 mins then Cripps packs it up again

on 3 different occasions last night I was out with the hunting wagon and my camp gets packed up and I have to struggle to get another one set up. Setting up a new camp has taken roughly 20-30 minutes. This has been the biggest pain in the A ss I have ever encountered in the game, and Ive own it since day one. How about fixing these well known bugs instead of releasing a new vest or goofy hat?

Yeah so get this..    I go about getting all kinds of three star skins, then spend an hour trying to get the camp to spawn.   Then it just kicks me because of a rockstar issue.     You guys have got to fix this.     You’re losing players left and right because of this BS.

Hi @Baltzenheimer and welcome to the forums.

First, sorry to hear about your connectivity problem. 

Second, I think I should clarify that RDR2.org is a fan site.  We are not affiliated with R* nor Take Two in any way.  

Personally, I would read the sticky at top and use the link within to submit a trouble ticket if you haven't already.  Submitting these tackets and/or our suggestions to R* is the only way we can ensure that they hear our voices on issues like you bring up.

couldn't spawn a camp today, several servers and several tries on each.  it's been bad for a couple weeks.  i'm happy that the animals are better.

I always have one out of two dilemmas: I either can't get my camp to spawn and have to ride around with zillions of animal pelts and whatnot OR I can get it to spawn but then the animals disappear and Cripps whines at me that he doesn't have any materials to work with.

I swear if I didn't know better I'd claim the game is trolling me. lol

Ok. How about this. I finally get camp to spawn. I run over and drop off items for Cripps. I go to lock box and get the message stating I can't access due to harming a horse? WTF is that? I kept checking for almost 20 min. Can't access anything or any store. Finally gave up and did a bounty then it cleared. Second time that has happened. Anyone Else see this?

Ok, go to start any stranger mission, ( the orange icons) and once the mission starts, set up your camp, it usually will do it instantly, Im also on xbox.

This should not have been designed this way. Give us some sort of dependable camp. Discussing server issues in futility and throwing your hands up isn't going to cut it. The Trader profession NEEDS the frickin camp. And I spend so much time watching Cripps shut down the camp (because the AI thinks I'm gone and another player should have the location, BULL$#I^!) and then trying to reestablish the camp that it's too frustrating to continue trying.

FIX THIS. MAKE IT A PRIORITY. When it's done I'll be back to play, maybe.

A couple notes....  RDR2.org is not affiliated with R* or Take Two in a any way.  This is an RDR2 fan site.  

I am going to move this thread to our Troubleshooting forum and I am going to link you to the sticky there that has the info you need to contact R* directly if that is your aim.  Hope this helps.

Or getting booted because of Rockstar and you lose all your pelts off of your horse. That makes me more mad than losing my camp. I can still play while trying to get my camp back but you can`t get back your pelts once they make you lose them.

Now there is this lovely glitch where you lose your skins before it even hits the horse or wagon.

SO ridiculous that this issue has not been fixed yet.  It has been around forever, people have been complaining about it forever, and it really is a critical function of the game.  I just tried to pitch camp unsuccessfully about twenty-five times.  This game has made Rockstar a mountain of money.  No excuse for this.

I opened a ticket today for the camp issue and support told me that the 1.14 patch didn't fix the camp problem. It was for other stability issues but not for the camp and animals spawns issues. So we wait more...

Went out for a mission from Crips for stealing a wagon. Wenn I came back the camp was gone. Could n't create a new camp in time!  Wtf 🥶

I play every day in rdr2 and the camp spawning in isn't working for me and I can try different severs and still do it. I think that r* needs to go back in rdr2 and fix that because I can't spawn in my camp

Remember to also submit your issue in the form of a trouble ticket to R* Support because the more that do, the better chances are that particular issues get addressed:

While not a game breaker, it certainly is a major irritant that camp spawn still will not work 80% of the time---- just keep spamming the camp size and location selections and cross your fingers one appears.  Or is there some secret sequence of actions one must perform?

I guess there is a lot of players who exact have the same problem as me. My camp is keep changing location everytime I join a new online session. 
Is Rockstar that lazy, can't even fix a bug? It's a really anoying problem.

Edit: There is no point of choose your camp location, because your camp will be randomized located anyway. I read some people had this issue for a year ago, a YEAR ago!

I have had nearly 2 full days where I have been unable to pitch a camp.  My primary job is trader and since I am unable to get to my camp I am unable to get supplies to Cripps.  On top of that every time I do seem to get a camp to open on the map I will ride there with my skins and when I get there the map is gone and usually the game boots me when I get to the nonexistent camp.  I love this game but it is getting very aggravating.  I realized recently that once you get a full collection you can send it to madam Nazar through the mail.  It would be really nice if you could send supplies and skins to Cripps the same way.  In the main game you could send carcasses to the collector why not now?  At least then you could keep production moving.
