Relax, bro, it's just a 'beta' š¤ Kidding, of course. This thing is all over the place like a meth head checking their phone while driving on the freeway.3 points

Let's try to look at this from a different perspective. The game did not come with a guide on how to play it...and I'm glad for that. I'm sure there are a lot of people who hop on and think everyone they meet is a foe. That this game is a shooter. I bet you the term 'griefer', or even the concept, would be pretty foreign to them. For many (not all), I would think they'd regard what the OP has described as simply playing the game...trying to get better...giving it the old college try...never giving up. They don't really get it yet...especially being a lower level. Not everyone has gone on the internet in hopes of learning how to be a better RDO member. Obviously, there are many who also grief for sport. Those are usually much higher levels, though.2 points

Griefers come in all forms. .....and there are more and more of them cropping up that are low level. I've been in the same boat where we have had to continually kill a low level player simply because he would not go away. We report them and block them. Sometimes it's us that have to eventually leave the session. Gets old really fast IMO as there is no challenge nor desire to continue. This may change with the new update however. With a bounty and NPC posses in the mix, they will likely have their hands full allowing victims to simply move on while they are stuck defending themselves from the law. Also, I doubt many would welcome a Feud. The darkening blip and detection won't do them any favors either as I'm sure there are those who are just waiting at the chance to take these griefers out using that new mechanic as a tool to hunt them down.2 points

And then there was me and my posse wasting ours over at flatneck station blowing each other off the tower to see how far we could fly lol. Good times.2 points

i use them but only on griefers. especially when i want them to go away. i use free aim and sb card so i have to time shots or i will miss. using paint it black will of course be bang on target. ex rounds and shotgun incendiary are effective too. once you craft them go and restock materials then you can craft more if needed. just hold triangle to craft anywhere2 points

Just finished playing for an hour In that time frame, not ONE animal, bird or fish spawned ANYWHERE! Jumped servers approximately 15 times... hell, my horse wouldn't spawn in 5 of those sessions... once I could not get on my horse and in another my horse wouldn't move. Cleared my xbox 1 cache and still NOTHING. Has anybody had this problem or know of any workarounds??2 points

how to pass down all your money from arthur to johnļ¼since john will get his satchel, i tried buying 99 of all items and that did not work. john only get several , not 99, the ginseng elixir got passed down though, all remaining 6, the correct way to pass down money is to : go to the bro and sis pig farm, drink and get urself robbed, then visit the house as john and reclaim all your money behind the painting !!! lol1 point

Lol so last night a friend and I were at camp getting ready to run stranger missions and an other player approached our camp and waved so we obliged and both waved back. This other player then started shooting at us from the edge of our camp ,we tried to ignore it as we were in camp. So I lowered the flag and killed him. Hoping he would go away, he did not... We then left and went on our mission. This other player followed us and kept trying to kill us, after repeatedly killing him I checked to see what level he was. He was a level 5. A level freaking 5! Lol Even though they were the aggressor I felt bad we had to run away from this level 5 so he could live. Lol Is this a form of reverse griefing? Lol had to share as we were laughing our butts off about it last night. what possesses these players, is it ego or just plain stupidity?1 point

Yes, it's beta. Yes, it is technically "free" unless you're one of the many of us that have already invested some money in gold bars. My point isn't even so much that it's completely BROKEN atm, but that R* hasn't publicly addressed this fiasco. Of all the big-name game companies, this is my worst experience with communication to the playersbase. A simple post would at least give us some idea that they do actually care about us and are actively working to find a solution. As it is now, I'm stuck logging in every few hours in hopes that the servers are fixed since I know R* won't bother to let us know when they are. I want to believe they are better than this, but a quick Google search proves that I'm far from the only one losing faith around here.1 point

Yep yep. The truth will set you free ! Good call on this. Lower level grieves believe that's how the game plays and higher ranked grieves are simply bullys looking to make a name in the wild West !1 point

With all the weird stuff people have been experiencing lately, it wouldn;'t surprise me if it was due to tweaks they have been making on their end in preparation for the update next week.1 point

It makes me wonder now if most of the griefing claims are exaggerated a little by lower level players. āYouāre being griefed? And Iām sure you did nothing, right?ā Lol Also... I noticed last night that lawmen posseās seem to have a quicker response time and come in greater numbers now, or was that just me? Anyone else notice this?1 point

They can call it what they want, but in my opinion, once they monetize it, it's out of beta.1 point

And now if you go hunting or fishing or some other activity that doesn't get you killed. You will make even more xp. I have played with some that go and pick flowers and sells them to doctors or players who hunt or fish that go to the Butcher before the mission ends. Now in my experience, all of these points showed up when the mission was complete.1 point

I focus on the game usually. I'm trying to communicate more with other players just because a lot of them do the missions quickly. another thing that amuses me is to guess the nationality of the players from their gamertag. š1 point

I can confirm that the 20% is in effect right now. 12 xp for bird kills 17 for gator kills and so on. We also can confirm story missions are giving 20 % extra too.1 point

lately the funniest thing in the game is trying to communicate with other players to explain how the game works. some people do not have a microphone, others keep everything off, others do not understand my bad English. I enjoy it so much !!! š1 point

Tips? Shoot them at the ground near a players feet so even if they dive they are blown to bits. Also great to kill players hunkered down somewhere.1 point

same on both counts DivineLeft recently submitted a ticket to rockstar on this issue... expecting to get nothing but the run around in return cleared my cache, reset my router, deleted my xbox live profile and recovered. I thought it might have resolved when my game re synced... NOTHING! still experiencing all of the above... wildlife, fish, horse not spawning. Not sure if it's only happening on Xbox? This began happening for me once the 2X XP Posse Bonus was discontinued.1 point

One of my favorite flavor combos is an outdoor grilled burger one of them thick meaty ones, topped with a nice stack of thick-cut bacon, melted cheese, and BBQ sauce while sipping a coke alongside it. I have not tried cola candies bacon but based on this alone, I think I would enjoy it. Meat + coke/cola = heaven.1 point

Now I want this to be an option in game. I would have never thought to name them but now I will and I will be hoping it becomes an option in the future. Naming your horse is cool and all but naming a gun is just badass.1 point

LOL This is a really spot on point. Maybe Rockstar is drinking from the same juice these days. I didn't notice it right away but when I did, I could not figure it out.1 point

I'm with you. A lad at work asked me what I had brought my wife. My answer was nothing. We been together 17 years in July and married 14 in July. I tell her at least twice a day that I lover her and buy her whatever she wants when she wants something. Why should I go out and buy flowers double the price they were the day before or chocolates that will be half price the next day just because someone's says I should.1 point

open world games are my favorite, i often clock in 100+ hours before i'm half way through the story line. That's one reason i love RDR2, Just Cause, Far Cry, etc. etc. I have no idea how much time i spent in RDR2, but i'm still not done with the 2nd epilogue and until about 2 weeks ago or so I played it nightly since release for 2-4 hours, and countless hours on the weekends. My empty nesting has been playing xbox š. I'll get to the chore list this spring when there's not 5 ft of snow in the yard.1 point

That's the biggest takeaway from all this. If someone is looking to level and practice game mechanics, this is the best option via grouping for story missions. Thanks for the invite. I'll be on the lookout when I'm online, but given locales and time zones, I'm more likely to be online when folks on the US West coast are playing (UTC-8:00), even though I'm on EST (UTC-5:00, right now, -4:00 in the spring and summer). Reason being, I wait until everyone else in the house is asleep, so there's nights I don't get on until 2200 or 2300. Not that I have official confirmation, but in discussing this issue elsewhere and on these forums, but it's been speculated that this is by design: that there may have been the intent to have this act as a "soft cap" for players so they didn't just burn through missions to boost XP and power-level with good groups. And it makes sense, from R*'s perspective--having a coordinated group of players grinding out six or seven missions (or more) in an hour and maximizing XP is probably not in the best interests of player retention when you could reward playing two or three missions an hour and maximize the XP/payouts. Not saying I agree with the decision or the logic, but I can understand the intent. I have a feeling that this will be tweaked when the game "goes gold" and the beta tag is removed. They'll examine the metrics and analytics to find "the sweet spot" which will probably look more like a Bell Curve for the rewards on missions; too fast, and players won't maximize their ROI, too long, and there will be diminishing returns. They'll have to balance it to prevent exploits like folks loading up on XP/materials within the missions. One thing I hope they don't do is put proximity markers on the missions or barriers to other parts of the map, but I have a sneaking suspicion that R* is probably looking at those methods to prevent what's currently happening.1 point

A lot of it has to do with people not mic'ing up or communicating in PUGs. Two weeks ago I ran into two players in a mission who explained to me what they were doing, and I was more than happy to go along with the plan. It ended up being quite enjoyable--much more so than aimlessly wandering around the map trying to grind out pelts for cash. This game was designed for grouping up, there's no two-ways about it. I loathe grouping with randoms, but I got lucky and found a couple groups to float in and out of who are of a similar mindset, and clear communication does a lot to make the game more enjoyable in the absence of actual endgame content or a "passive' toggle. Now, when I'm on, I actively look to group up because the game is a completely different experience than playing solo. They probably should have told you what they were doing, or they assumed you were aware of the exploit that R* has built into missions. The intent isn't to "ruin it for others"--it's to help others maximize their time in the game. Every group I've been a part of the last two weeks has implemented this strategy to get the biggest XP and $$$ payout from the mission they're playing. Once someone explained it to me, I was more than happy to go along for the ride. It also made the game far more enjoyable as I met some fun players to talk to, and eventually group with in Free Roam. And let me tell you, riding in a group of three or four in Free Roam has been a game-changer. Duos and single players keep an eye on you from afar, but they don't dare get close. Safety in numbers is a very real thing in the FR experience. But getting back to the groups; if you want to smash out missions as quickly as possible, you're probably better off finding a group of like-minded individuals and forming a posse, or else talking to the people in your pugs about what you want to do instead of judging them for having a different (albeit legitimate) strategy for completing the mission.1 point

I don't know what good it would do to write all this now. I mean if the update is set and announced, it means they are already working on the next round of patches and updates which likely won't happen again until late March or even April.1 point

Hi, I play most afternoons and weekends (UK - GMT). My aim is to level up gaining XP doing the missions & gang hideout clearing, I will always loot corpses where possible & donāt say no to free items in houses either. The aim is having fun on the journey. I also hunt, gather & fish. Iām not a griefer but happy to hunt them in a posse if they become persistent & annoying, messing up my day but would prefer to leave them alone. Iām level 38 hopefully 39 by tomorrow (19/02/2019). I have created a posse but my nephew doesnāt play much (he is a fortnite fan). I would enjoy making new regular online friends to get the most out of RDR2 online either riding out in your posse or in mine. I have a headset & am polite & respectful during conversations. Contact me if interested. Cheers1 point

Hi @boone0829 and welcome to the forums. I'm going to go ahead and move this to the Online sub forum. Also, in the future you might want to keep the explanation for your topic in your post rather than the title. I'll shorten it for you. Having said that, I would also encourage you to report this problem through R* Support. I've heard a couple others reporting the same problem. https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/115001624507?redirect_lang=en_us&_ga=2.68834897.1959283164.1550521385-1719606522.15252873561 point

This past week it was double the XP bonus of what you would normally get by doing missions with a posse. It wasn't actually "double XP" of the whole payout of XP if that makes sense. Next week is 20% more XP IIRC for all activities and the week after that the new update comes. This was the first time for this sort of XP bonus as I recall but I doubt it will be the last.1 point

A couple of weeks ago I was riding away from lagras not galloping but not trotting either. I came up to like a set of trees or something. This lad runs out right in front of me. Not at me. it was like he was chasing something or being chased. Anyway I knocked him down but didn't kill him. I turned around to emote wave as if to say sorry. But pressed right trigger by mistake. Pulled out my bow and arrow and killed him. I felt awful.1 point

I was hoping for a full blown stroke like you see in cartoons or movies where the person starts seeing things. Would be cool to get attacked by people and animals that aren't really there.1 point

That is by far and away the biggest frustration when it comes to griefers. When my horse is empty, kill me all you want, I just pop right back in. But if you cause me to lose a perfect buck carcass or worse, a perfect cougar/panther and a couple of spoonbills, I'm going to be super pissed and will come at you with fire and fury to make you pay dearly for my loss.1 point

Kind of meh.. This is what the hinted at a while ago. Should not take this long to add such minor changes to the game. Game needs an injection of content they are holding back for the sake of drip feeding. With free aim and and private lobbies. NPC bounty hunters? Why? Killing other players gets you a bounty? Ok then everyone will just keep killing myself over and over again after they kill players to avoid NPC Bounty Hunters. Infact I can already see friends killing each other.. Just to get bounties and then just kill the NPCs that come for it. Bounties should be put on players, by other players.... and paid to players who get the bounty. R* really needs to get their sh*t together.. Or this game won't matter anymore once they get out of beta.1 point

if you're on xbox save the game (or if you have a save near that mission use it) then exit the game in the game menu or game management menu. Shut the xbox off for 30 seconds or so using the button on the console. restart the console, load that save and try again.1 point
