In how many of the endings does this happen?
Kean_1 replied to Wing's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
What's the question? EDIT: NVM figured it out. Thanks for using the spoiler feature OP. I just forgot to expand it. lol -
Hi Jim and welcome.

....but you don't need a PC to run it. Hell, you can connect via a Chromecast dongle and their controller. That is what I meant about Stadia being more like a console than a PC as far as the end-user is concerned. Everyone is basically running off of the same platform. The key will be your internet connection / capability as that will play the biggest role in your performance. PC gaming is a different animal with players dealing with all sorts of different hardware and settings. ....and then there are the mods, hacks, etc. unique to this platform. I honestly don't see a reason to open a Stadia sub forum at this time simply because there really hasn't been a lot of interest shown around here. ......but like I said, let's see how it goes and what the owner wants to do.

Do I think it warrants a different section? No, not personally. It's not like PC. If anything, it is more similar to a console which is already blended anyhow. PC comes with a lot of unique aspects that XB1, PS4 and even Stadia do not. .....but let's see how it plays out and what the owner wants to do. To be honest, there has been very little discussion on the topic around here up to this point.

*Camps* (Discussions of Issues Since Summer Update)
Kean_1 replied to zosma2000's topic in Troubleshooting
Hi @jtravers88 and welcome to the forums. A couple notes.... RDR2.org is not affiliated with R* or Take Two in a any way. This is an RDR2 fan site. I am going to move this thread to our Troubleshooting forum and I am going to link you to the sticky there that has the info you need to contact R* directly if that is your aim. Hope this helps. -
Sorry, my mind reading skills are a bit lacking. ......but as I said, exploits in the SP game are likely less of a concern. Either way, the take away I wanted folks to get from this was that I thought it best that people not use this as an opportunity to share instructions on how to cheat in the game by using exploits, etc. on the site. .....although that is really directed at glitches / exploits affecting RDO.

You've already got another thread on the same topic with responses. Use that one: Please don't spam the forums with dup topics / threads.

I played the alpha and both betas. For me, while the improvements were welcome and refreshing as it made this CoD game less "CoD" than some of the more recent titles, it is still CoD at heart. IMO, I look for a more tactical experience in my shooters. I don't like the run & gun nature although what really kills it for me in CoD is the ability to hop / jump. If they would have limited this or even eliminated it from the game in their hardcore/realism mode, I might be on board. I also prefer a low TTK damage model and other aspects like that which tend to naturally slow down the pace of the game. ....a slower pace means more time to approach objectives tactically and a better chance more people would be willing to work as an actual team covering one another, etc.
-
If you're talking about an exploit (and I believe it is if it's the one I recall), then I don't believe that is something Management would appreciate being advertised on their site. Having said that (and IIRC), this is an old one from last year. I would say that if it's not working like you read from Reddit, watched in a YT video, etc., then it's likely been patched already by R*. I would also note that those take advantage of exploits like this are sometimes caught by R* and you run the risk of being penalized if you choose to cheat like that. ....probably less of a concern in the campaign though,

Well, this community tends to be rather level headed about such things so I doubt you'll get the same treatment here. Well, as I mentioned earlier, as long as it doesn't go that route we're ok although I think I'll be moving this to OT as it seems more suited for that forum.

.....and I guess my point was that defensive mode was never meant to be a passive mode and works the way it does as intended. Personally, I'm ok with that but I get that some may never feel that way about it.
-
......that was with a top end rig. Thing is, with the advances in tech back then there always seemed to be something worth considering to upgrade every couple years or so especially video cards as they were progressing so rapidly. Also, if you invested in the wrong chipset then you may inadvertently lick yourself in to the same CPU and memory unless of course you buy another board. ....etc., etc. The games were getting more demanding each year and tapping into the potential of the latest hardware. It was a matter of "keeping up with the Joneses" for me that I got tired of.

I agree.

Perhaps it's time to find another group? ....at least for those times that you want to do the things you want to. There are always going to be people who will help others out and then in exchange you help them out. Maybe finding just a couple good folks you can ride with during this time is the key instead of a bunch of people. I know some who will work on one person's tasks for a while or even the whole session and then switch.

The story of how to go through the missions
Kean_1 replied to SLUG's question in Questions & Answers
I think their point was lost in translation. -
Do you "posse up" with randoms? That could be part of your problem.
-
It doesn't work that way. As Freak mentioned, they have to hit you first. Defensive Mode is a way to help more passive players get out of situations that they may normal not have been able to. .....and those times they cannot, they have the ability to press charges, parlay, etc. IMO, Defensive Mode works well in helping break contact with aggressors and escaping the conflict. If however someone does hit you, you at least have the option to retaliate without consequence. I believe the AA restriction is also lifted at that point for the defensive player.

Hi Kronjin and welcome.
-
Just because I understand why someone would take preemptive action against me for being too close to their delivery, etc. doesn't mean I won't defend myself or press forward an attack that I otherwise may not have. This was never about that. It's how we view those who do and in my case, I simply don't take actions like that personally.
-
I see...... So yeah, I guess that was it then. Either way, I guess if you were to take action / inaction or to wander so close as to warrant a response, I guess its really a moot point what your intentions were to those only looking to defend their delivery.
-
......ok?
-
......which is fine but I wouldn't expect others to follow the same ROE in this scenario nor would I fault them for it. .....which seems to be the real sticking point here for you I'll wager.
-
I think the reality is that in a game like RDR, there simply isn't going to be the demand for Japanese cultural themed outfits to warrant the work it would take to create them.
