Ahhhhh..... Ok, that makes a lot of sense. I see where you were coming from now.

Not sure..... I guess the takeaway from all this is that the owner is aware and we've all had discussions on the topic. If or when things need to be implemented, I'm sure that's a bridge we'll cross.

I used to smoke and got close to a pack a day in a short period of time about 30 years ago until one day I just had enough. I felt like crap and was tired of it. I had a high stress driving job and it was one way to help deal with the idiots on the road. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones that just never had an addictive personality. I can do the same with alcohol as I will sometimes just not have the taste for it for a while, etc. I'm not going to say that I didn't have cravings for a smoke nor will I say I stopped entirely. It was more difficult back then as you could smoke just about anywhere you wanted. .....bars were the worst because it seemed smoking and booze were a natural match and I was at the age when we were always going out. However, I did essentially stop smoking that day but would still have one or two when going out with friends who smoked and offered. It eventually dwindled to the point where I would only smoke maybe 6 days out of the year when my wife and I would go to Vegas. ....I'd buy a pack of Dunhills and we'd share that for the weekends we were there. I never really missed it in between. At some point I just stopped all together as even the 1 or 2 I might have in a year became zero. The thing is, I never made it about "quitting". I just made the conscious decision to cut back and eventually I just didn't want one. .....but hell, who knows, I still might strike one up one of these days or a cigar which I never stopped indulging in when the mood strikes me.

I honestly don't know what section you're talking about Saffron because as I said before, we've been moving PC-specific related items (e.g. modding, PC specs, etc.) to the PC sub forum I supplied a link to. I browse these forums myself on a daily basis and read nearly every post. If I'm missing something, please point it out and I'll move it if warranted. As for splitting up the community, RDR2.org has always been a friendly and welcoming environment for new members. Frankly, I don't see why PC players should be alienating by replicating forums that have commonality between the platforms. ....or discussions that ask the same questions we all had when starting out. RDR2.org is a resource to be shared and I would hope people would be happy to help new PC players that have questions about the campaign, online, etc. as they always have regardless if they seem obvious to some. Again, PC-specific subjects like modding, exclusive content, etc. will be separated into its own forum that already exists and (as I mentioned) possibly in sub forums as it grows. ....and who knows, maybe that will include common subjects too but we will have to see how it plays out. ....but the reasons shouldn't be because some may find new users with old questions annoying.

There is already seperate PC section although it is in the Online menu for now but as time goes on, it will likely be moved and sub sections added along the way. https://www.rdr2.org/forums/forum/27-pc/ The thing is, I only saw one thread in this section that was specifically about PC. .....all of the other threads are inactive (just a couple threads down and you're already into Sept). I'm usually pretty good about moving PC- specific threads to their own section to where you really don't have to wade through a bunch of them to see relevant content. Thanks for bringing it up though as it is something that is being monitored.

No.... I didn't see it as an available option in the betas and to be honest, I got tired /frustrated with the game to the point that I didn't play past the first day in both. ....I really hated the twitch shooter aspects. It literally gives me headaches. I also don't like the "free for all" or "every man for himself" gameplay that most resort to. I will say that HC and SpecOps were the two things I was most looking forward to. I figured I would would wait a while until I could find more in-game footage of these modes. Back on the "every man for himself point", I did see some footage of SpecOps where even then the group simply didn't communicate and coordinate their actions. ....and then they talked about how hard the mode was. ....smh. I think I saw a couple milsim YT personalities talking about the game. I'm going to see if they have any coverage as they are way more likely to play the game like myself and my friends would.

Pre-load Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC now in preparation for launch on November 5th. To begin, just log in to the Rockstar Games Launcher and click the PRE-LOAD button on the Red Dead Redemption 2 panel in your library. http://rsg.ms/26bcabe

I played the alpha and both betas. I thought the larger scale battles were kind of cool but again, too much hopping around corners, jumping from above, etc. The pace is just still too fast for my taste as a military shooter. ....it's still essentially a run & gun, twitch shooter albeit less so than before. I like shooters that are much more tactical, slower paced and lethal than what they offer. Personally, I'm waiting until insurgency Sandstorm to scratch that itch which will be releasing next year on console. If they offer the hardcore mode like they do on PC, I'll be a really happy camper.

NEW IN RED DEAD ONLINE: FEAR OF THE DARKPLUS TAKE DOWN A CORRUPT LEGENDARY BOUNTY, NEW CLOTHING UPDATES AND MORE Fear of the Dark is a terrifying new limited-time addition to Red Dead Online Showdown Modes pitting supernaturally fast, tough and strong Night Stalkers against mere mortal Hunter counterparts. The Night Stalkers' powers, however, are tied to the skull masks strewn about their stomping grounds. The more masks the Hunters get their hands on, the weaker the Night Stalkers become, while the Hunters' own weapons grow stronger. Hunters can only succeed in this new mode by collecting all of the masks and killing all remaining Night Stalkers. Night Stalkers can win by either wiping out the Hunters or surviving until the time limit expires. Play Fear of the Dark now through November 12th in Red Dead Online. And to sweeten the deal, the entire Fear of the Dark series pays out a hearty 3X Gold and 2X RDO$ through November 3rd. Is there anything more abhorrent than a corrupt politician? While serving in office, the former mayor Tobin Winfield squirreled away public monies for years. Now he’s disgraced and in hiding, wanted for larceny and embezzlement. This crooked official was last seen around Thieves' Landing. The Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Catalogue has a selection of new items, including the homely Tobacco Hat, the woven straw Thacker Hat, the Southwestern-patterned Torranca Coat, Manstilla Poncho, Creswell Skirt, Sierra Boots and Pickett Boots. Plus, Collectors can collect a nice stipend from Madam Nazar by tracking down a new Weekly Collectible List, the Veteran's Collection, consisting of the 1792 Quarter, Old Tom Gin and Aubrey Onyx Ring. Players with a fondness for sharp-edged implements of terror and destruction will be happy to hear that they can take 30% off all Cleavers, Machetes, Tomahawks and Throwing Knives this week. And if you haven’t embarked on Specialist Roles yet, get started this week to get an exclusive mask. Like last week, Licensed Bounty Hunters will receive an exclusive variant of the Creature Mask; Traders will receive an exclusive Swine Mask; while Collectors receive an exclusive Masquerade Mask -- all free of charge. Meanwhile, players who achieve Tiers 10 and 20 of the Outlaw Pass can look forward to free and exclusive versions of the Freak and Horror Mask, respectively. Players who win a round of the all-new Fear of the Dark mode, will also receive an exclusive tint of the Freak Mask as a reward for their efforts. Be sure to act this week, these masks and the haunting collection available from Madam Nazar are only available through November 3rd. PlayStation Plus players still have until November 4th to receive an exclusive colorway of the Killiman Vest while Red Dead Online players who connect their Social Club account with Twitch Prime receive the Bounty Hunter license for free and an extra 10% off the melee weapon discounts listed above. To ensure access to future benefits, make sure to visit Twitch Prime and sign up. Stay tuned to the Newswire for more Red Dead Online news in the coming weeks, and head over to the Social Club Events page for all current special events, bonuses and discounts. Check Rockstar Support for details and limitations.

It's fall, which means new seasonal brews are available!

Oh cool..... Haven't seen that one before but Im not a big soda drinker. ....I do love cranberry though. I'll have to have my wife keep an eye out. Show usually buys the Ocean Spray pure Cranberry juice. ......never understood the cocktail variety where they add all that sugar and other crap. Their pure juice drinks are sweet enough and even then I'll usually dilute them a bit with water & ice. -
No prob... I have quite a few of those myself.

Nice..... Yeah, I think the Canadians adopted them early on for some of the same reasons (reliable in cold weather)? The only rifle I want now in my safe is an M1A1 and I'll be happy.

....I just sent him a PM to see if he's still interested in keeping this thread / posse recruitment going.
-
Hi @rdr200% and welcome. Might want to visit our Posse Recruitment sub-forum to see if you might be able to make some new friends to join up with in RDO. Lots of folks looking for others to join their posse or perhaps even yours.

Yeah, why not. Wasn't trying to rain in your parade but simply pointing out that a good portion of jbohos' list that you critiqued wasn't just wishful thinking.

The Chinese were dabbling in crude forms of rocketry about a thousand years ago and they've existed in some form or another throughout history. Either way, he made the reference as a joke. I wouldn't mind seeing cannon / artillery though from fixed positions.

Who's having a Red Dead Online gaming marathon?
Kean_1 replied to Vendetta's topic in Red Dead Online
Yeah, I don't think I've had one of those for many, many years. I'm semi-retired now and still can't bring myself to sit in front of the TV to play games for the whole day let alone weekend. ....although I will do the occasional 4+ hours in the evenings if I feel up to it. .....and sometimes during the weekend days if I'm not able to do anything else. I dunno..... I just can't bring myself to play games during the day most times. Just doesn't feel right to me. I can't relax and enjoy it like I can at the end of the day. .....what's funny is that I can watch stuff on TV without a guilty conscience though. lol -
That could all be true but the difference is that it's dictated at their end. The consumer will only be limited (essentially) by their internet performance and capabilities of their monitor. .....e.g. HDR, 4K, etc. Frame rates may also be throttled based on the users internet performance.

**Animal Spawn Issue Discussion** (Since Summer and Recent Updates)
Kean_1 replied to Jimblob's topic in Troubleshooting
fyi.... When you say "you", please understand that RDR2.org is merely a fan site and not affiliated with R* or Take Two in any way. There are also no representatives (that we know of) who post here. -
The Mosin was already around a few years sooner than the Type 30 you suggested which apparently didn't start production until the year the game takes place (1899). I would say you were more likely to see a Mosin than an Arisaka rifle in the U.S. but I'll wager both would have been relatively rare not to mention the ammunition. The earliest of the Lee Enfield rifles had been in service as early as the late 19th century and served in the Boer War (1899 - 1902). ....as were versions of the Mauser rifles and the C96 pistol we already see in RDR2 as simply the "Mauser Pistol". Other than the 1911 which was already covered, I would say his list isn't so much "wishful thinking".
