GTA V, in general, was just okay. I didn't care much for the story. It felt like parts were being forced and other parts had no depth to it. And yeah, the random missions sucked.

I did some digging and can't find any solid proof on another Bully game being made so there is that. You were right Parzival.

I guess we should expect another GTA game next then.

I could have told you that. I think people were just speculating it based on the sales they were running at the time on Bully merch and games.

Just read they hit over 150 million copies sold between GTA V and RDR2 recently. That is INSANE. Sales were even boosted for GTA V again just this past holiday season.

It amazes me given all the issues they had with RDR2 and GTA V combined. Remember when GTA Online launched? It was a mess. People couldn't connect probably for weeks.

I wonder if they will end up doing another LA Noire game. I mean I legit enjoyed that more than GTA. I am guessing that if they do focus on the next GTA, another RDR will follow after that though I think it would be wise to mix things up.

Rockstar is making their games so large and detailed at this point that they take a lot of resources to develop (RDR2 especially with every studio under their umbrella contributing), and while I love huge open worlds like San Andreas and RDR2's world, it's had the side effect of decreasing their output. If these GTA: Americas rumors turn out to be true, GTA6 will be an utterly massive game, even bigger than RDR2, with multiple cities encompassing large swaths of North and South America. Unless they opt to make some games on a much smaller scale, I could see other less popular IPs like Manhunt, Bully, and LA Noire being shelved or even retired in favor of the big two in GTA and Red Dead. At this point, not counting ports of previous games, Rockstar is on track to start releasing one or two games per console generation.

I use the the MTU setting on my PS4 to force myself into a public session without other players and that is where I do all of my business missions and such that I would otherwise have to do with all the griefers.

I don't play GTAO in open sessions with other players. Either private, invite only or public with just me or a couple other randoms in a session. It's funny, when I force the MTU settings sometimes randoms will get thrown in but they usually are all just doing the same thing so we all leave each other alone.  ......but if the population begins to increase, I create a new session.  Typically I'm by myself though.

I typically adjust my NAT settings on XBO and it force lags everyone out of my session so I’m alone. Doing this it typically keeps it to just me unless I invite someone. Then it’s like the floodgates get opened.

I remember that time. Red dead online beta was pretty horrible at first too, with nothing to really do but hunt and do series.

If they end up only focusing on GTA for the future, given what they make on those games, I couldn't blame them. Maybe it would be a good idea for Rockstar to only be a one game dev company. I mean it seems like they have had nothing but struggles juggling both RDR2 and GTA V. As much as I loved RDR and RDR2, if shelving them means their future GTA games will be well improved, I think it would be worth it.

I don't think the Red Dead series will get shelved, it's a major cash cow along with GTA. I'm talking about lesser IPs like Bully, Manhunt, LA Noire, and even Max Payne that might get shelved.

No way they would do that, I agree. RDR2 brought in a butt ton of more fans too. I would imagine the numbers only grow. They are able to target two different types of players too. Some people like to play in a different time and others like to play in modern times.

I feel like I would be enjoying the game more on console, honestly. Seems like people on PC have their own groups they stick with. When I do manage to get people to join to do missions, heists, and such they either back out right before it is about to start or they leave in the middle of it. So annoying.

I'm with you. GTA Online is more enjoyable on console, due to it being locked down. But the thing I miss while playing GTA Online on the console is the comradery that comes with the PC version. It is just easier to make friends on the PC with keyboard text chat.

I don't know what it is about GTA but it has always been one of those games I have loved and hated. Not hated because it was a bad game either, it just frustrates me, especially GTA V. I am hoping whatever they do next, the online mode is perfected.

.....it's better on console or PS4 rather (IMO) because I can change my MTU to force myself into empty "public" sessions.  ;)

I don't have to force myself into an empty lobby, seems to almost always happen for me regardless and I am not sure why. Sometimes I join and there is like 4 to 6 players and within like 5 minutes, I am all by myself. Does my GTA character stink or something? haha

Yeah, if I don't then I get stuck in full lobbies. I hate playing with randoms in that game so I always play alone or just with friends.

Sometimes even with the MTU trick I still get people joining my session. If it stays at around a handful, things are usually cool.  ....but when it grows or if I start seeing "X killed by Y", then I bail.

Sometimes if I wait folks will start leaving in their own and then I'm all by myself again.

The more active I see the death count, the quicker I leave. I am all for playing the game as intended but some people are just complete trolls about it and I can't deal with that.

My original GTAO character often cleared the lobby in short order as well.

I haven't been on much since making the thread. Been rather busy but going to be playing a bit this weekend. Did they add anything new lately to it?

I wouldn't mind them focusing more on like a southern city setting. It would be like a mix of RDR2 and GTA V. Maybe model it after like Houston, Texas or something.

You can do that on PC as well using task manager. I’m currently doing the Diamond Casino Heist on Xbox One. Might do it on PC as well.

I haven't even been able to do the heist yet. Every time I start it up, no one joins and the only other guy I play with doesn't know anyone good enough to do them.

Xbox One:  Settings -> Network Settings -> Check NAT Type -> Wait for 5-10 seconds for the Xbox Popup

That has to be the perfect phrase to summarize what this setting change does. LOL

I remember at one point where online gaming made me more social. I think things change with GTA V.

GTA V on PC can be messy but I still think it has more playability overall compared to RDR2 online for PC. Imagine if there were as many hackers and modders on RDR2 as there is on GTA V... That would be an absolute nightmare.

Oh yeah I forgot about that Bully push for sales. But they were giving it away for free with RDR2 so that is likely what that was. Makes sense though when you think about it. A game like that wouldn't have longstanding play value and that is what they are after now.

I still don't get what they were thinking by pushing merch. Up until they started giving the game away, no one I know had even mentioned it in the last 6+ years.

Yeah you really can't make friends on console anymore. I used to be able to in certain games but it is so much easier to be social on PC for most games.
