MarstonScot
The one on the left looks like John a bit. If it is, either other gang members or Archer and Edgar Ross?
NewsBot
Rockstar has just officially announced that Red Dead Redemption 2 will arrive in stores on October 26th later this year. The news comes after months without any new information regarding the game and increasing concerns that a delay is inevitable. The only consolation is that we got a batch of new screenshots. You can check them out, plus Rockstar’s statement below. We’ll have more information and analysis on this latest development shortly… We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish. We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks. YodaMan 3D
That will be a year's worth of polish they are putting on the game. I am curious on what they are finding wrong with it that they can't put it out yet?
Skrylaxx
For the love of God... WHAT ARE THEY DOING!? I honestly did not see another delay coming. Soon as I heard the news I just felt like throwing up. What a load of crap. I mean I can't be too mad because it is more time they have to perfect it but still... OCTOBER!? It could always be pushed back again... I don't know. Part of me is upset and the other part of me is relieved because I will be busy with work over the summer (working 2 jobs) so in that sense, I won't have as much time to enjoy the game. SNAK3S
A friend of mine was talking about this just last week. He said when it comes to medical news, no news is usually good news but when it comes to video games, no news means something bad. So yeah, we got the delay. I was pretty pissed when I heard yesterday but I cooled off since then. There is nothing we can do but be glad we finally have a date set in stone.

To be fair there is always the possibility of another delay. But for them to be confident enough to give us a specific date now is definitely a step in the right direction!
LinXX
I am glad we have a date, even if it did get pushed back again. I hate having to wait for something without knowing when it will happen. That is likely down to my anxiety issues and fear of uncertainty, it just makes me really uneasy. This is true for things I am most excited for too. Suck3rPunch3d
The pictures look good. I am sure it will look even better playing the game. I do wonder why though. Like the real reason behind this push back till Fall. I get that they wouldn't want to launch a game in the Summer, it is hardly the time for that. I am sure reasons for it in more detail will come out eventually. "More polishing" just sounds like something got messed up.

Someone made a mistake, or maybe the whole team missed something. Either way it is better for it to be fixed then to be released with issues and needing multiple patches out the gate. Looney Dan
I feel like this delay was to be expected with the lack of news. Had it been going on time, we would have gotten more news on the game in December and January but they were silent both months. I am glad we have a date but it still stings knowing I won't have this game till fall.
D3x
Enjoying those pictures. The graphics quality of this game is superb, to say the least. I was/am somewhat ticked off over the delay but there is nothing that can be done. Delays happen. I am just glad they are taking the time to make sure the game works like it should. elmZ
Even with the delay, I didn't see too many people upset. I think this is down to them not giving an official date. Now, if it does happen again I think people may riot over it lol

I seen a lot of people getting upset on Twitter, Reddit, and other gaming forums. If it does get pushed back again, they will lose business. I guarantee it. bluntTR4P
Yeah there were some pretty heated fans. I seen one guy go off saying he is boycotting Rockstar completely now because they lied. Reality is, they never gave us an official date, we were all just hoping and speculating.

I seen one guy go off saying he is boycotting Rockstar completely now because they lied. Reality is, they never gave us an official date, we were all just hoping and speculating. That's the history of games from Rockstar in general, sadly. They're almost always guaranteed to delay an up coming game that has been announced. Some examples quoted from this article. Quote Rockstar announced the first Red Dead Redemption in February 2009 — four years after showing off a tech demonstration of it, seen below — but a trailer didn’t arrive until that December. Perhaps those should have both been warning signs that the game wouldn’t make it to its April 2010 release date — although players were lucky to get their hands on it a month later, in May. Quote In March 2009, Rockstar finally revealed that Max Payne 3 would be out that winter. That window shifted to 2010 later that year — and in June 2010, the company moved it again, into 2011. By the end of 2010, the game was completely off the release calendar. A new launch date came in September 2011; Max Payne 3 was then set for a March 2012 release. Surprise: The game missed that. In January, Rockstar delayed it yet again to May 2012 — when it finally, finally launched. Personally I don't mind to much but I'd still prefer that they not announce anything at all until they're closer to the marketing phase and hopefully at least nearing completion of the development (so within a year or so of actual release). Give teasers and information drips without any time frames - all cool, but mention a possible release window that will inevitably get missed (and most likely multiple times as we've seen with RDR2) just kind of makes us a little more numb to the eventual release. jACKx
I would have rather they announced the game was being made late last year than 2016. There would have been no "major delay" and people wouldn't have been bothered so much by the one we got.
DiamondDave
I might be the only one thinking about this but I really want to know who that woman is and what role she plays with Arthur. Does she and Arthur end up knocking boots or what!? They seem pretty close, look at the picture!

She gets Arthur killed. As for the date.... Very close to Halloween. I wonder what made them choose October instead of September. Any major releases coming out in the fall? I am almost certain there are a few games that have been announced for October, not just RDR2 but I can't seem to find the updated list on that. Either way, I am going to keep an eye on this. I think you are correct though.
Hazed0NE
October is a decent month regardless of what games come out. It is earlier enough for people not to complain but late enough in the year to push it as a Christmas gift.
GatoNegro
I prefer a fall release over a spring one myself cause I like to enjoy summer outdoors when I can. I think sales will be better for them in general as well. Fall releases always do the best.

ChrisCr0ss
It is going to be April soon so that leaves us with 7 months. Once May hits, the year seems to speed up because of summer. I know my summers fly by since there is more going on so we will have the game in no time.

I think the fastest part of the year though is near the end... Like October to December flies by fast.
riptide87
Once we get some more news, the time won't feel so long. I would like to say they show us some actual gameplay at E3 but who knows if they will.
CowBoii
I am going to be one of those people who has enormous doubts on them showcasing anything at E3 for us just because it is Rockstar.
